New GoPro Hero9 Test Flight

Күн бұрынI've finally had it with the lost video and audio issues from my older GoPro's. I bought the Hero9 Black but had to wait for a company to develop a case for it that allows the door to be removed and the audio cable plugged in without the battery falling out. I also tested a new audio cable. Finally, I think I have something I'm happy with...for now.
Sorry for the slight audio issues. I will get that resolved.

I noticed the brighter and clearer images right at the start of the video, especially on the instruments, even before I knew you were doing the camera swap and test.

Man I love your plane, it’s my dream plane. Great performance, avionics, beautiful paint, just awesome. I’ll get one some day. I just passed my commercial multi engine checkride a few hours ago in a Seminole, so I’m finally able to fly twins. Great videos, keep ‘em coming, Go Dawgs!

@@marcs990 Sweet! Congratulations, my hat’s off to you! I have about 5 hours in a Robinson R44, but had to give it up, too expensive @ $500/hr. I have a LOT of respect and admiration for heli pilots, there’s so much going on and helicopters are not as forgiving as fixed wing

Love learning what you are up to with the plane and your gear. Keep up the great videos. This is my therapy these days. New cam looks really good. Too bad GoPro can't get the details right with the aux audio input. Maybe next time.

Hello Kevin..... I just wanted to say thank you for being so nice when I met you at the North 40 a couple of weeks ago. You were even nicer in person than I expected and I enjoyed meeting Taccoa as well, what a cute and polite little man you have!!!! I appreciate the invite for a beverage at the tent later, the Wednesday forecast scared us off and we left that morning, I did leave a bag of bonus beverages in your cooler!! New is sharper and a little brighter. With or without Jaime always enjoy your videos. At 47, this year, lost my FAA medical ( health reasons from COVID) so have to fly through you. Keep up the good content love your trips.

I also have the Hero 9 and love how sharp and clear the video is. The new cam footage looks much better I think and sound was good to me

I like the new camera. That last landing looked like butter. Some of us non-pilot types would like to see your run-up if your procedure has changed, or a link to an old video showing this. THX.

You missed a chance to use one of my favorite sayings on the landing in Janesville. In lieu of “that’ll work” I’d substitute “that dog’ll hunt.” And no doubt that the new camera is MUCH clearer.

There is a huge difference between your old camera, and the brand new GoPro hero nine. The audio came out really well also. No problems understanding you, and was crisp and clear, both audio and video.

The new video came out great, the sharper colors that was shown in your side-by-side clip at the end are really nice. The GP 9 Blk is a great camera (imo) and the latest firmware fixed allot of issues (I bought my GP9 in March and had issues, however the July firmware update fixed everything). GoPro came out with a pass through door that keeps it weather sealed. Easy to swap out with the stock door as needed. Keep the videos coming!

The Hero 9 is much clearer video on your side by side comparison. I use the Hero 9 in a helo and the video is always crisp and the stabilization is insane. I see how much the mount vibrates and think to myself the video will make me sick, but it’s as smooth as can be. Even your old set up did a phenomenal job in stabilization. The only way to really tell you are in turbulence is by watching Miss Jaime’s reactions or you kicking off the AP “Just doing pilot stuff.” Another great video sir. Hopefully you have figured out the audio gremlin by now. Keep up the quality content sir. Safe skies brother, and GO DAWGS!!!

For what it's worth, you can also purchase a door with the type C port open. Very cheap. In plastic or metal. But using the media mod like your doing works great as well. Just a FYI if you didn't want to use the media mod you have. Also, the media mod for the GP9 is fully contained and don't forget to set mike types in the camera. Standard, powered, Aux. for best audio.

Sounds like the new audio cable solved the static issues. Both cameras sounded good. Camera 2 was markedly clearer with better contrast, maybe due to lens coating cutting through the haze. Enjoyed breakfast with you.

I think the VG's have a major factor in landings, slower is better and smoother. The "NEW" camera is brighter and sharper is the side by side shots. Audio is clear and crisp. You are such a good person bringing breakfast to Lady J. Thanks for sharing.

For the audio issues. You may want to check to see what the input impedance is for the GoPro. Typically stuff like that is an 8 ohm impedance where the aircraft would be be set for a 600 ohm impedance. The impedance mismatch can cause problems.

The new camera is great! Every time I watch your videos, and they just keep getting better btw, I want a 310 even more then I always have. But it just occurred to me what I really want is a 310 just like yours. If I ever am fortunate enough to afford the care and feeding of such a bird, I’m going to have to hire you as a consultant😎. I’ll have to try the boot cupholder in my 182.
