I'm a long time GWAR fan, too,and I dig their punk albums. However, I'm also a thrasher, and I still like their newer material. But you're right with the crowd. Everyone just sits still like statues. Generally I try to rile up the crowd, then a push pit might get going, but kids just don't know how to handle going to shows anymore.

Hear was at one time a good band, but they just don't impress me anymore. I have seem them five times and still hold Scumdogs as one of my favorite albums. Their later material isn't up to par and the live shows aren't as good. I'm not sure how you would get your ass kicked at one of their shows. Go to NY and see one of the local hardcore bands, then you can talk about ass kicking.
