4. SOUNDBITE (English) Amy Messer, Hillsborough Superior Court Judge:
"On the date that you murdered her, you didn't hit her once. You punched her in the head repeatedly. You beat her in the car while at stoplights more than one time. You knew that she was severely injured, yet you covered her with a blanket and didn't check on her until after you took her lifeless body from the car. And then after her death, you treated her body like it was trash. Worse than trash. You did unimaginable things to her body, and all in an effort to save yourself from being discovered as her murderer."
5. Pan of Crystal Sorey, mother of Harmony Montgomery, addressing Montgomery during his sentencing
UPSOUND (English) Crystal Sorey, Mother of Harmony Montgomery: "December 7th will forever be the darkest day of my life. The night you beat her to death. I woke up in the middle of the night in agonizing pain from my head to my toes, and I felt like I was dying - not knowing, in the most brutal way, a part of me was dying."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Amy Messer, Hillsborough Superior Court Judge:
"Harmony was an innocent five-year-old girl. You treated her in the worst of possible ways in both her life and in her death. Therefore, the court sentences you as follows: on charge ID 2027112(C), the charge of second-degree murder, you are sentenced to the New Hampshire State Prison for not more than life, nor less than 45 years. That sentence is stand committed. That sentence is consecutive. All of these sentences, I should say now, are consecutive to each other."
8. The prosecutor addressing the court during the sentencing hearing
UPSOUND (English) Benjamin Agati, New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General: "There is nothing minimal about the crimes that he is being convicted for today."
9. An exchange between the judge and Montgomery during the hearing
UPSOUND (English) Amy Messer, Hillsborough Superior Court Judge: "Do you have any question about those sentences?"
Adam Montgomery, Sentenced for Killing His Daughter: "No, I do not."
Messer: "All right. Before you go, counsel, approach, please."
10. Zoom out of the courtroom
UPSOUND (English) Benjamin Agati, New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General: "How can the minimums ever apply when he conceded at trial the crimes that involved the horrors that he inflicted upon her body from December 7th on forward up and until March?"
