Canada will soon require health warnings on individual cigarettes, a world first. It's all part of a strategy to get tobacco use down to less than five per cent by 2035. Andrew Chang talks to CBC's Christine Birak about why there's still a long way to go to get there.

what crazy is theres so many toxic deadly chemicals in cigarettes' that dont need to be there & are added after growth of the tobacco. instead of making a product healthier via regulating out the deadly unnecessary Posion ; they use it as a convenient way to make sure there are less old folks to take care of; & Less pensions to pay out. the govt is facilitating the posion of smokers.

There have been warnings on packs for a long, long time. Would be nice if they changed the stats from 1983 that are still on the the packs.

Cigarettes are deadly no doubt . So let us put ink on every part that is smoked to add to the toxicity . Seems like the virtuous proponents have decided to just add more poison , and eliminate users .

hey dont forget tobacco IS not good for you; but they ADD THOUSANDS of chemicals they dont need to...forget ink they add syanide.... why can they posion people Out in the open; but wont let average ppl sell weed or Meat? because its not about health its about control & De-pop Goals.

Strokes are happening to almost half the people I know that took the jab but they want to warn us about cigarettes? So many that talked trash about being concerned over the testing failures of the jab. Those same people now have clotting issues, strokes, frequent dizzy spells. One lady just got out of the hospital with a huge scar on her neck from cleaning out her arteries.

What about weed and vaping? Is there any evidence that these don't also cause harm over long term usage? Ah - you addressed the vaping in the last few minutes - thanks. I think weed is also an issue. Cigarettes are bad news but I can't honestly take the government seriously if they don't also address vaping and weed.

Wow, just when you thought the extreme baby sitter state was taking a holiday. And, just incase the graphic picture on the front didn't stop them, now were going further with it. LOLOLOLO........ Something is really wrong with our society when this is still a priority.
