@@MRsolidcolor The one featured here is actually tandem 16K axles. We do offer triple 10K and triple 12K axle models as well. Thank you for the feedback on a new video. It would be good to do a video highlighting both tandem and triple and the differences between them. 👍

Can we get an 8 foot neck? In the majority of states the maximum trailer length is 48 feet. Many hotshot loads require 40 feet of deck space. Also, as the pickup trucks we use are classified as a straight truck, we can not have more that a combined length of 65 feet. The one foot shorter neck will allow us some flexibility in truck manufactures, cab size, bed length, or even aftermarket front bumpers. So ideally a FMAX 212 or 216 with 40 feet of deck and an 8 foot neck checks all the legal boxes. Last thing a hotshot needs is a DOT officer pulling out the tape measurer after we spent $30,000 or even double on a trailer!

They do trickle charge off the truck. 👍 And most customers with these choose to add solar panels for a little extra insurance.

I’ve had issues in the past running up in North Dakota and the condensation in my air ride freezing up in the lines. Do you know of any kind of blanket heaters for the tank or mechanical air dryers that would work?

Funny that DC acknowledges that hot dip galvanizing is the ultimate coating, yet they don’t offer this as an option on their trailers. I’ve only been able to find a few manufacturers willing to offer such a service (Buffalo and midsota) and will be going with one of these brands until DC can figure out it’s what customers want.

How does the load Guage work? Does it add more air to the bags when heavy thus the higher pressure? Or is it just the weight increases pressure?

Load gauge just shows the psi in the system ,which gives approximate weight. If its set up like traditional class 8 trucks a leveling valve adds or removes air from the bags to keep ride height.

DC I have three questions: 1 are the empty weights of your 40K straight deck spread axle options? 2 do you have a step deck that has a 50K upgrade option? 3 your trailers have the 7 pin link from trailer to truck. Is there a glad hand option?

Hello! 1. Estimated Base weight would be 11,300-11,500. 2. We don’t have a clickable 50K option on the website but can build on custom request. 3. We don’t have a glad hand option or availability. Thanks!

@@kayoticbushido Great questions! 1. Build time varies by the dealer you’re working with depending on their size, ordering patterns and availability. 2. Yes a dealer can process your build. That’s the preferred method. You can build one out right on our website and submit to 1-3 dealers nearest the zip code of your choice. Then they can quote and process it right there. 👍

I want to hear an explanation of why I would want to have a spread axle on these trailers. Typically, as I understand, a spread axle at 97" allows each axle to be loaded to 20,000 lbs. This allows semi trucks to load 40,000 lbs. on the trailer axles legally versus the 34,000 lbs. standard tandems are restricted to. For a semi this allows for some more flexibility in how the freight is loaded on to the trailer (balancing the weight) when near 80,000 lbs. combined weight. What benefits does a spread axle bring to a 40ft hotshot trailer since with even 16k axles we can not even reach the 34,000 lbs. limit for tandems? I am going off Federal numbers, individual states vary.

Went through the build configurator on the website…. At the end showed me a price of $70k…. I’d be okay with $50k for a trailer, but $70k is alittle excessive. I’ve since moved on and researching to see what else is on the market. I need a good functional trailer, doesn’t need to be a Gucci trailer that Diamond C is becoming known for. I think Diamond trailers are great, but how do you justify this kind of cost for a trailer, knowing trailers without air ride, do just fine and have for years.

A FMAX216 with 40K GVWR can have a payload of as much as about 30,000lbs.
