Great content I love it. I worked in Alaska as a helper for a tree faller and I loved every minute of it. We were cutting trees down for the right away of the Alaskan Pipeline. Making about a mile a day. Most of the trees were small about 8 to 12 in in diameter and about 2 ft apart. My faller taught me how to cut trees and I did get a chance to cut a few. Mostly I carried the fuel the tools the bars and the chains . he had multiple chains so he didn't have to stop and sharpen them everyday. In this area they covered the fallen trees with snow and packed it in. The caribou crossed in these sections so they couldn't have any rocks or the caribou mite break a leg. After the pipeline was finished and the snow melted. They went in and removed the fallen trees. Thanks for the wonderful content and the two-hour session.

I don't comment much on KZfaq anymore but sure enjoy your videos, just found them today,Great Stuff Man! I started in 1972 at age of 12,used a homelite x22 28 inch bar, helped my dad limb spruce trees that we later pulled into the water. No caulk boots no hard hat no safety anything. Used up all my horse shoes over 27 yrs in the business, quit when I was 44. Still have my Stihl 066 and Husqvarna 385xps Lived to climb in the mountains and heli work was a big challenge, bucking big wood in super steep terrain.times have sure changed though, good luck out there and thanks again 👍

Bjarne, maybe one day when you aren’t scheduled to work but you have a VERY GOOD Wi-Fi connection you can do that Q&A session as was described but you’re probably going to have to do a live version. BUT, that’s NOT going to hurt the feelings of your long time followers. But I do suggest that you try to give us a days heads up to let everyone know that you’re going to. PLEASE DO A Q&A LIVE 😊

I logged for 20 years in Nova Scotia. We rarely were lucky enough to cut wood this nice. That dead limb at about 15:57 may look small to the inexperienced, but falling from as little as 25-30 feet, it would feel like someone picked it up and swung it like a baseball bat at you...especially if you didn't see it coming.

Hi Bjarne! That first fungi was a young Chicken of the Woods mushroom (Laetiporus sulphureus) one of the best eaters. I've never been fortunate enough to get one as young as that one. They're a shelf fungus. grow on stumps and rotten trees. Usually start finding them in late summer through October. Delicious in spaghetti... That's some really spectacular ground and mix of snags and timber. Glad that limb didn't git ya or your saw, that would've smarted... (grin)

Question- so a "snag" can refer to a tree whose limbs are intermixed/woven together with another tree's branches; and/or a dangerous tree because it is dead and difficult to predict if the bark/limbs may come off and hit you; ... any other meanings for "snag"? A "DT" is for a Dangerous Tree because of it's lean, position, widowmakers that might fall, and limited escape routes?

We go at our own speed but there is an expected amount of wood you have to put down. It’s a very “loose” evaluation by your boss but ever faller on the coast knows in general what the expected amount that’s needed to get felled in a day depending on various conditions. Like wood size, terrain, weather, bucking specs, thick or thin bush, number of stems in a given area, wood condition e.g. all leaning random directions, lots of snags. So ya there’s a lot to it 🤷‍♂️
