Looks as if the needles were broke and then a repair. They have to be welded almost perfectly so adjustment can be accomplished. Hats off to the person that welded them. I assume the baler works.

You are correct, that was a hard lesson learned. The stop got jammed open and the plunger broke them both off into 3 pcs each. What a mess. Fortunately I was able to find the pcs to weld them back together just before this video and after a few adjustments it worked great. Word to the wise - keep your equipment lubed and clean!

I only use that twine in my round blaler. I use the 9000 that is like natural hemp rope. Easy on the hands picking up the bales plus you can leave it on feeding cows.

Matthew Poteet I agree with that. The balers seem to like the natural sisal twine better too, I think it ties better.

I had a rough time getting started making square bale this fall. I had left the baler out but covered it with a tarp. The hay left in the chute had rotted and was very difficult to remove. I had to scrape the sides of the chute where it was stuck and rusted. Once I got started i had the baler sheered the pin because it couldnt push bales through the rough chute. I loosed up the chute and didnt sheer any more pin but the baler stopped tying on one side. After I flipped the knotters up and lubricated and checked them I had to keep threading the twine in one side but I kept seeing ends that looked like they were broken. I changed out one of the bales of twine believing that moisture has gotten to it and it started tying good and didnt miss a bale. The whole baler will be in the dry from now on. I dont want to have to go through that again.

Pull up on the arm where the needles are mounted and the needle eyes will lower.
