I appreciate about Ibanez that they actually go for THEIR OWN LOOK. They have handsome designs that do not feel at all like a knock-off of another brand.

Yes for certain! Where did Nathan disappear to? i realy appreciated his honest, informed reveals on the Bass - a true Westcountryman, unless I miss my mark!- (actually, don't know if he's from The Westcountry, or not - I'm Canadian, so how the heck could I tell? - but he struck me as a decent, competent, honest reviewer - so maybe we xould get him back, no?

@@leonardgould6657I absolutely love Nathan as well. His dry sense of humor is awesome 😂...of course he is such a great presenter. My guess is that he is with his brother, Mark King in Level 42 (an incredible player) ..... Nathan is actually the guitarist in Level 42....they are an awesome band!!! Check them out if you haven't.

Loved the video. Had been thinking of trying to learn bass for a few months now. I had already shortlisted the SR400/405 which I think are great value for money. Watched the video late last night and ordered the 405 first thing this morning (I really like the slightly more serious presentation, don't think Nathan needs any help at all.). Great job.

Nathan is entertaining as usual but I like it when his with Lee in particular as they bounce off each other. I still have my Ibanez sr 500 I bought new in 94. Paid 1k at the time and tried a lot of basses for around the same price, Fenders and MM but chose the sr in the end. The neck is so easy to play. The preamp is fooked and I have a couple of other basses but thinking I'll get the sr a new pre and new pu's. Ibanez, as Nathan mentioned makes awesome basses at prices others seem to match for quality at their respective price points. Cheer

Stingrays are my preference, but Ibanez from mid price range to moderately high price range are the best bang for the pound or buck if you prefer in my opinion. I still have my first two from the early and mid-1990s. Lightning fast necks and easy on the fretting hand. Power houses!

Ibanez quality of those affordable instruments is outstanding. I had a new Sterling SUB Ray 4 which costs almost 400 GBP with quality issues such as sharp frets. I returned it and swap it for Ibanez SR300E. Top notch build quality, can't find smallest issue and it's almost 100 quid cheaper then Sterling. I was so impressed that few days later I bought a Ibanez Talman TMB-100 another quality amazing bass. I like brands like Squire and Epiphone but I'm afraid I'm gonna stick to Ibanez :)

Hi Nathan, just acquired one of few remaining SR400EMQM available here in Canada. The first M in EMQM is for maple, ie the maple neck, not for mahogany. While the SR400EQM model remains available for 2021, the sunrise redburst finish and maple neck was available only for 2020 which I think makes it a fantastic, less than common bass to have in my collection. And the feel and sound, as per your video (which helped to close the deal in making my decision) is marvelous. Thanks for all the informative, entertaining vids.

Pretty close for the SR400 model for the naming scheme. The SR400 E is because the original SR400 came in a Reverse Precision + Jazz pickup set-up. And the Dual humbucker thus got named SR400E

It's good there's individual volume controls for each string on the piezo pickups - coz then you can turn all the fizzy-sounding little bastards completely off. Even Nathan struggled to get a reasonable bass sound of that... and Nathan's good. Imagine it in a duffers hands - like mine. Don't bear thinking about.
