The track visuals during the transition just looks so real. That slightly damp tarmac with a drying line, plus the odd little puddle that still kicks up the occasional spray. Superb job by iRacing straight out of the box. It will only get even better and more refined as time goes on too.

Maybe it's just because of how quickly you set the weather change, but there seems to be a mismatch between how visually dry the track is and the actual grip. Plus the spray coming off the car on totally dry line looks a little wonky. Still, you can tell they put a TON of engineering into this update, it looks absolutely amazing.

Yeah I felt this a little bit too. The visuals seems slightly out of sync with the actual track state. Still, it's only week one. iRacing will keep on refining and improving things. An absolutely incredible effort straight out of the gate by iRacing.

Yes, as soon as there is a dry line there shouldn’t be any spray on the dry line and slick tyres should outperform overheating wet tyres

There was a point where you saw p17 and p22 do the fastest lap… that tells you that those who changed early are now finding speed. I think that is an indicator for the future to change to drys

I wonder if tyre temps will rocket during the change over period if you don't seek out wet track to keep them cooler

According to Tony Kanaan it appears you can't do anything atm to cool them. I'm sure this will be improved upon, though.

dont know but i think the drying track looks broken, it looks to dry, even it is still complety wet and cars have huge spray

They need to get rid of the spray when driving on a dry line. Wets shouldn’t ever work after lap 8 in this race. As soon as there is a dry line, slicks must be the faster tyre so that risk is rewarded but also punished if you get off the dry line. But just driving with wets until the entire track is dry makes no sense. Overall extremely happy, but this needs to be fixed

Can't see a dry line which seems silly, unless it's due to Sebrings patchwork of concrete making it hard too see. Although sometimes the car ahead drove through what was a wet part as spray kicked up but it looked dry 🤷 also the crash at the end was weird. Looked dry but obviously wasn't. I guess you need the force to figure out where to drive 🤣

It feels very natural to figure out where to drive. The lack of a very obvious line here was due to how hot the track got in the blazing sunshine which dried things in an uncommon way. This was a custom weather pattern created by Ollie. Never going to happen in an official race like this. My main criticism about this race is that it was hard to see when the track was totally dry vs nearly dry. The tarmac colour is too similar. Yes you can use the mirror to look for spray but it should be easier to see in front too.

I tried it at silverstone, and you can really tell where the dry line is. You can also see certain sections off the racing line drying quicker than other patches of track
