Owner of slipper clutch version and watching this video again in 2019 just love the reviews of these old dukes. Tbh, I've grown old with this machine and couldn't imagine my life without this little monster. This machine always made me smile through thick and thin and it has the character to take out the children within you in a flick of your wrist, trust me its an honest confession after an ownership of 4yrs. Anyone who's reading this if you wish buy one they're cheap at secondhand market and preserve her she deserves all the pampering and you'll ever regret. The decision of buying one is what I'll always cherish and thanks to powerdrift for this review it did help. Thanks Sarge the pdarmy misses you. P.s: do read the pros and cons before buying one. If you can accept her for the way she is, she will serve you well.

I currently own an Apache RTR 180 which is about 5 and a half years old and was amongst the best motorcycles to ride in India at the time, I've done numerous trips especially around Western and Southern India and I just love it for its Handling that being said I recently had a test ride on the Duke 390 and boy did it blow my mind, Insane power, good braking(yes maybe the initial bite could have been better but then again its progressively very good) and the Soft compound Metzelers stick like glue, an absolute competition killer in today's market, hope to save enough dough and get one soon, continue with the awesome reviews guys, you guys always motivate me to ride more and ride safe. +Sagar Sheldekar - I am planning to upgrade to a ktm rc390 next year. And with speculations of slipper clutch being added to the package, it makes the deal a lot more sweeter. Just wanted to ask how bad is the engine vibration on the rc390? Does it really get to you or is it ignorable once the 'run in' period is over. And the radiator heat. The new Duke seems to have made some adjustments. Is there a chance of seeing the same through the rc fairing? I will mostly be using the bike for super short alternate day city commutes and weekend getaways. Your input on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hi i have just bought KTM Duke 390 2015 in May 2015... And glad to inform that i am the first one in Ahmadabad having Slipper Clutch... And my experience of riding is too good... While downshifting in cornering i can literally feel the difference... My friends having previous Duke 390 and a good rider have just driven my bike and they got very impressed with changes my bike's engine have...!!!! #PDArmy

hello , well , big fan of power drift, great videos , i need some expertise of yours regarding my bike upgrade , story starts from my first performance bike being duke 200 , thats when i started loving bikes , i rode it over 10,000 kms in 4 months , then sold it , and got Duke 390 , i was in love with this machine , with 2 times engine replacement , i rode it over 14,000 kms for another 6 months , and then , i wanted a 4 cylinder , so i bought a Honda CB400 2006 , it was a great bike , but it had many faulty instruments , because of which i had to sell it within a month , then i was back with the question , which one to buy now ? somehow i had a soft corner for duke 390 , but i had already used it , so i decided rather to go for RC390 , its been 6 months now , I've done 15,000 kms , and now I'm done with it .. bike is good , but its not serving my purpose , i do daily commuting in city of around 40 kms , as well long rides and corner attacking and stuff , but somehow its a true track bike , and doesn't fit outside of that .. now I'm leaning towards ducati scrambler , i really liked the design , but somehow , not sure if its a good deal , I'm not going to keep the bike for long , so is it gone be my best buy , why scrambler ? and why not duke 390 with slipper clutch ? is it worth to put 5 lakhs more than duke 390 for scrambler ? is it value for money ? any alternative ? awaiting your response .. thanks a lot ..

But I have a suggestion for you guys, At the time of reviewing please don't concentrate only on corners but also hit bikes on bad roads and straight roads so that we can know how it withstands with windblasts and unstteled roads.so we can know about its practicality. I intend to buy the KTM Duke 390 version 2015 the thing I wanted to know was that the older model of the Duke 390 had some heating issues and also people used to say that your thighs get roasted when you ride the bike in shorts. The new model by KTM claims that the radiator fans have been designed in such a way that the heat from the engine is thrown to the ground instead of the rider. As you'll have had an opportunity to ride on the new model of the Duke 390 I wanted to know how are the heating issues with the bike and does One's thighs still fry with the NEW Duke 390 . Please let me know ... thnx

Love the way Power Drift have come so far providing the BEST automobile reviews for us "Indians". Now coming to this Video i was watching this along with ma frns & there seems to be a bigger rant among us as to how the slipper clutch works, some argue that while shifting gears we need not use the clutch, some say that the downshifts are more smoother but one still need to use the clutch, some say the upshifts can be done without pulling the clutch lever, so experts could you please help us get this confusion cleared of our heads??? its ok if i am sounding dumb to all but i would love to clear ma head.. :)

so ummmm I have a question, I currently own a T-bird 500 but it has started to give me trouble, and so I have decided to buy something else (had it for 3 yrs now). I was staring at a duke RC 390 the other day and I think I can live with a duke for the next 3 yrs. But I still can't wrap my head around that weird engine sound that KTM bikes make.. Do you have any other suggestions, or perhaps some other up coming bikes that I could possible go for. And please don't suggest me to wait for the Himalayan, I was eager about the upcoming 750cc from RE but I don't think I can live with whatever fuel economy it gives. Can you guys please suggest me something?

Again a superb review like always, however i have some serious questions , 1. i am planning to buy a ktm 390 in this month but i am real confused as to which one shall i buy, RC390 or duke390, i need a bike that can do touring around 1000kms (once in 6 months), track riding as well as a bike that cruises well in the city and on the highway at constant speeds. and the big deal is that i would buy the one that powerdrift suggests me, this much confused i am coz i love both these bikes a lot and have been saving funds to get one since a long long time. please suggest me a wise choice. Also, am i missing out on any other bike that comes in this price range?? When is the benelli tnt 25 expected n what r ur views on it?? Any idea on the Honda CBR 300 launch??? If you've made this video just for seemingly almost ignorable design differences, I think your video for the new Duke 390 2017 will be huge :) I know no one has been given a chance to ride it and it was JUST showed at the EICMA 2016. I called up one of the KTM Sales stores and they are saying that the Bike would be available in India in 2017 Feb - March. Guys, any information regarding the new KTM Duke 390 2017? I am very much looking forward for the new bike and would LOVE to have inputs from you!

Hi PD Army, jus bought the 2016 Duke390, only been 3 days riding it,, i m getting a click on the clutch lever everynow and then when downshifting,, to best explain how it feels, i wud say it feels as though the clutch cable has snapped off,, although everything remains normal,, can u shed some light into this?

Is the warm start problem of the bike still there? N should i wait for the 2017 model or should i go for 2016?

I felt my duke 390 having some throttle issue. Whenever I'm accelerating it goes fine, but when ever I'm releasing the Gas...all of sudden it becomes zero rpm. Can you just suggest what should I do...

I love how you guys make the videos.... Very novel! Great work! I used to hate this bike (for the sound of his exhaust) but with this video alone, Duke 390 might have a new fan!

well since i own one, I would like to give a more practical view on this slipper clutch model, everything you said is absolutely correct, but still the heat is tremendous on stop and go traffic, second, (this is not a personal experience but a fellow rider's) he had pirelli rosso tyres on duke 390, and he changed to metz because he felt the slight lack of grip. And one last thing, that I am disappointed, that I went into a pot hole at 70kmph, just a six inches types pot hole, and my rim is bent, still no air leaks, but still the rims are not suitable for indian road conditions. Chain cover still rattles, and the most annoying thing on new dukes is that the nuts which hold the stand will go loose before 3k kilometers, do keep in mind( this is has been faced by 3 15' model dukes and can be fixed from service center, but in the worst case, you wont be able to start the bike because of sensor) these were the negatives, positives you all know, its one hell of a ride enjoy!!
