Walmart dropping the ball with these new releases. The only one I was interested in was First Blood and it doesn't show up in the store. I mean, what's the point on releasing them and you don't have them in store? Ridiculous! And I'm not ordering them for delivery since they ship like shite in a paper mailer. Boy do I miss Best Buy.

Unfortunately, as physical media is becoming more than each model. I can definitely understand why Walmart is wanting to raise the price. Compare the Best Buy because they are barely making profits on these as a retailer. I’m thankful that we are still able to get movies at a big box retailer. I can see it eventually movie just online only because of Retail space just becoming more lucrative for other items that sell more. I’m a physical media die hard so I always love being able to go to a store and look at it before I buy it because sometimes online doesn’t show you everything that’s why I like KZfaq and channels like yours showing the content up in front of our faces. Thank you for doing what you do. Keep on watching.

Everything is going up in price! It’s so hard to keep up with inflation everywhere. I still get my steelbooks but I’m more picky on what I get on day 1; then others I wait for a sale. But other disc, I get with a slip.

In my opinion, the directors cut of Last Blood is better than part 3.

Hey Ken. I have to agree with you about the pricing getting insane. I think 🤔 I'm going to wait on Rambo. Maybe they will put together a set later on, or we'll get to buy them much cheaper without a Steelbook.

I've planned to buy some of those, but piecewise I can't endorse doing that for rehash movies. As much as I love collecting I've come to realize that there's a limit for everything we do.

If Lionsgate really wanted to make Last Blood worth the double dip and its price, they should’ve included the better unrated cut.

Great video overall, Ken. Two things on your unboxings, meant only to help...the movie is typically meant to slide downwards. Turn Cutthroat Island towards you and slide the movie downwards and the slipcover upwards...the doo-rag is meant to go up like you're taking it off the skeleton's head. Same with Ender's Game, The Mist, etc. Secondly, all four of the steelbooks you opened here have artwork on the front and back that's meant to be seen together as one big image, like a two page splash page in a comic book. Did find the Dredd 4k steelbook that initially came out through Best Buy a few years ago the other day, but not these yet. Definitely gonna be on the lookout for a few of these.

This is why I'm glad I never went all-in on steelbooks and got most of what I have at Best Buy when I could. I like to think I have an enviable collection of Best Buy exclusive. I even left the shrink on so the blue sticker is visible. I will however, get that RED set though; that's worth the price for dual format.

Even though I disliked the price I still picked up Cutthroat Island. I love the look of it and its one of my favorite childhood movies. My theory is all Lionsgate "first pressings" will now be $35, but when they start reprinting them they will go down to $20 or $25. I thought the restoration looked great, especially the 2nd and 3rd acts when you get lots of scenes on the ocean and the tropical islands. The grain is really nice.

In Canada, regular 4Ks cost 30$ - 35$ while Steelbook can cost the double and that for all movies no matter if it's a bad or a good one.

Two things.1. I might be mistaken but I thought Cuthroat Island originally was 24.96. I remember being surprised when I went to look it up the day it was released at it now being 34. Maybe I was mistaken. 2. My local Walmart store has done this twice but says on release day that the movie is not available at my store. I go in and there is a rack for it along with the price tag. They have the movies in back but don’t put them out until later after release day

Hey Ken, I've noticed several pre-orders on Amazon and Wal-Mart going for as much as $63.99 for a steelbook. A single movie could be $55.99 for a pre-order like Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire going for that right now on Amazon. Insane.

I think the reality of the situation with the pricing is inflation combined with less competition. The cost of producing this stuff goes up, the cost gets passed to consumers. Plus there is less reasons to give better prices because there is less places consumers can turn to to get these items at a better price.

I have the non steelbook 4k versions of Rambo. Only way I’d consider getting the Last Blood steelbook is if it has both the theatrical and extended or director’s version on it along with the digital codes. So far I’m not seeing where that is the case. Another reason to go with the BB steel set IMO. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Best Buy notoriously used physical media as a loss leader to get people to come into the store. With the decline in people buying them in store, I’m sure that’s why they made the decision to not carry them anymore. Why minimally make margin when it’s not serving its purpose anymore? Walmart on the other hand people go to regardless, and it’s an add on sale, not something driving people in. We should be happy that Walmarts still in the game. I just preorder off their website if I want something.

I'm on the fence about First Blood. I have the regular 4k already. But I am a sucker for a good steelbook. Prices are just going to go up and up as physical media becomes more of a collector's market. I hope we don't get back to the laserdisc days of $130-$200 box sets again.

Those previous 4 Steelbooks were at a discount from the other point of view. These are the real prices. we just got suckered in real good on previous purchases. 😆😆😆 $34.99. It is that pull you-in marketing trick. They got us real good. It was too good to be true to get a 4K Steelbook for under $25.00. That was always in the back of my mind. I bet you LIONSGATES lost money on the 4K Steelbooks. But again they got us.

It's Wal Mart upping the prices. It's bullcrap. I'm not buying them. I'm done playing these games of "do whatever we say and be happy about it" everywhere I turn. These were the only ones that was at a decent price before. It's a shame. Do they want customers or not?

Stolen elections have consequences, like record inflation. The price of gas was $1.37 a gallon on Coup Day 2020. It's $3.30 a gallon today. Well over double. Walmart also wants us to pay more despite their crappy practices, like stocking movies whenever they want, poor shipping practices, etc. I got the Little Monsters steelbook. I'll be waiting for sales or more affordable re-releases for most of these steelbooks.
