Life on Swan’s Island, Maine sticks in my memories as something austere and warm, punctuated by invigorating work and steeped in moments of beautiful serenity. Family Ties is my attempt to relay my impressions of it to you, combining multiple generations of home movies with new footage that I shot. If I upload it to KZfaq, there will be incessant commercial breaks inserted, which will drive me nuts. So I instead uploaded it to my own Vimeo account (link above), and that’s where it will stay until further notice. There are chapter markers that have been inserted into the Vimeo timeline, so that you can leave off and pick up at your own pace.
