New Mars Red SL55 in for customization!

This will be the redemption Mars Red SL55 that I've been waiting for!
In this video I show what a typical low mileage SL55 looks like when I take delivery of it.
Along the way, I will try to do some videos of the more interesting maintenance items and custom performance products.
This video will serve as a great before/after example of what the car started as and then the final product.

Brian, I'm the owner of a 2003 sl55 magma red/grey.I live in NE Pa.Ive been watching your videos for a wile now and love what you do.When I saw a red sl55wit really peaked my interest you are so knowledgeable and although mine has 44000 mi I realized alot of the replacement parts you described should be checked. I wish I had someone local that had your knowledge. Keep up the great videos

Looking forward to seeing your build. I found the pump we discussed and a larger reservoir, so I'm hoping that will help with the high IAT.

Hey Brian, Saw some photos on the web of the first one you did years ago and that inspired me to buy my mars red SL about 6 years ago. Quick list is all new ABC suspension parts, all..., and various other maintenance under if your in there replace it. Have the lower links and black 20’s wheels. Headers, stock mufflers, 70mm pulley w grip tec, 90mm throttle body, 630 injectors, heat exchanger, the big canister intake, tune, reworked the headlights like you did with no paint, blackout the badges on the car and vents. Like to see you do a video on how you mount the oil cooler, mine is not mount in the best way. Thanks for the content!

Just purchased a 2007 Mars red SL55 with ONLY 18k miles, designio package as well. Very happy with the car but, I do plan on the IC pump upgrade and then maybe a smaller pulley, I'd be happy with around 600-630bhp. That's further down the line, I will change the pump soon though just for extra cooling as I live in FL. But, that 155mph limit has to go to unleash that full 200+mph top speed. from everything I've learned about the 113K, the most important thing seems to be cooling before power.

The biggest issue I have is learning how to troubleshoot the PSE pump system for leaks.

Hi there, been watching your videos for awhile now. Fell in love with the sl55s. Your videos tend to focus on the restoration of them and then to full customization of the vehicle. Makes me thinks they are great weekend drivers. How are they for day to day driving? I know they probably arent the greatest for utility, but how about just using it for the everyday a to b driving? In your opinion is it worthy to be a daily driver, or maybe pass for something a little more practical? Thank you for all your insight, and keep up the great work!

BTW I live in north Delaware (state). I have CLS55 with some Renntech stuff etc. I'm currently slowly looking for an R230 and it would be great to talk about these SL cars in person. I just realized several cars in your videos had PA plates. I hope you are not far from me.

Thanks Eshen and my pleasure! The uppers are extremely easy to do. The lowers are a little bit more difficult but still very doable at home with a press kit.
