Having owned a number of Mercedes, I was particularly disappointed with the current EQ range . Its looks and range were poor.... This concept really makes a BRAND Statement. Which I actually like... A luxury brand needs a strong design which people can identify. Also... love the projected range. A Mercedes like this would definitely win me back.

I loved the round lights in 210 and 211, they make the vehicles look really distinctive , I hope they make a come back.

@FocusnikTGR Glad you like your EQE. I have had 9 or 10 I totally dislike the EQ range. Certainly not because they are BEV. But because of their looks, their range and their battery packs. Their high prices are also not too appealing. However, if you don't research their data , batteries etc and just buy one, I guess they would certainly very nicely. Personally I am not interested in any of the current first EQ models. However, the redesigned and re engineered MK2 EQ range might be OK. As long as their battery chemistry is changed.

That is amazing, I didn't think they could make anything worse looking than BMW had been churning out but wow, Mercedes have done it! What a waste of time on that grille, try going for a walk next time.

Looks like a VW Golf doing an impersonation of a catfish while terrified. Not counting super cars, between Mercedes’ jelly bean shaped cars and BMW’s giant pig noses . . . I have to assume good years for Jaguar, Audi, & Alfa Romeo are coming. Lol.

@edmanne You are making the erroneous assumption that car buyers have taste. Most do not. Hence, building ugly cars has rarely been a problem for car makers.

I love the look of it and the battery/range info sounds promising. But the grill is not practica unless as someone said it has a force field to protect it.

Correction - the lucid air goes over 500 miles on a single charge so this doesn't have tge longest range of any ev on the market.

Beautiful Mercedes Benz Concept CLA electric. the most beautiful and innovative thing in the car is the star headlights. The body design is beautiful. the interior design is beautiful, I like the screens, the steering wheel and the seats. This is a good competition for the Tesla Model 3 Highland.

The current CLA is one of the most beautiful car designs I've ever seen, equally capable of being classy in the 250, and stonking menacing in the 45 AMG. I know this is a concept, but if these "attack beetle" visual details make the cut, the future CLA is dead to me.

Hi! I've never owned a Mercedes, but I've had a car with the heart of a Mercedes - a Chrysler Crossfire! It was daring, playful, dynamic, comfortable and the design was worthy of its time! I want to bring it all back! And I would never allow Russian designers to get into the heart and brain of my car! These are very big reputational risks for Mercedes as a whole!

Very beautiful car, in and out, away from the norm, the screen layout Is more appealing than the hyperscreen, but...they would ruin it just like how they did the EQS concept with the production model.

Those features, internal and external, that incorporate a lemella (sp?) will be the stuff of nightmares for a detailer - very time-consuming to clean.

I'm not really made up with the interior. It's styling is similar to an American car from the 1950's with all that chrome. But if the exterior is anything like the final production car, then Merc are on to a winner.

Go look at the transition from the Vision EQS to the production one. I suspect that all that crime will be gone in the production model. Nobody like shiny surfaces all over your car that blinds you when the sun is shining the right way.

The passing comment at the end "some ideas will be on production models soon" ! It's a bit like seeing photos of a woman you have met online. Then you meet her in the flesh,and find they are of her younger sister. I'll buy that concept car as it is. And just stick 100 AA batteries in it .

Obviously the final car won't include most of what is shown here, but I said it before about an exterior element and it applies here...how much is the big daft interior screen going to cost when it breaks?! It's not like one button fails and you can't change the station on the radio, the whole damn dash has to be replaced!

⚠️ Dear Mercedes-Benz: Exterior. WOW. What a beautiful car. Poised. Modern. Elegant. Innovative without going crazy. It’s a Mercedes. My only plea: please don’t over-do it with the beloved 3-point star. Keep it sensible. Way too many stars in the exterior design… those headlights are lovely but maybe a bit too much of the star-theme. Interior… a jump from what we have now. I’m not sure about those plant or flower reliefs in the seats and the doors. I would like a more conservative interior. I know it’s a CLA but still. There are many things in the interior I wouldn’t be so happy to have it in the production car. To me the interior is not a good continuation of that gorgeous exterior. P.S. S-Class has the “problem” of the air vents reflection on the windscreen. Question. How’s that super shiny metal or metallic-looking material of the dashboard not reflecting terribly on the windscreen? I guess it does. AND also. How’s that material for extreme sunny climates going to fare and the amount of heat it will reflect??

I'm really looking forward to this car. However I'm slight uneasy about 5:50, what if the car randomly sent your phone an alert at like 2am, saying there's a child breathing in your car lol
