A new Michigan law, House Bill No. 4596, signed in May, mandates that manufacturers label wipes as “Do Not Flush” to prevent pipe and treatment plant issues. These wipes have been notorious for causing clogs and costly maintenance, exemplified by a 100-foot fatberg in Macomb County that cost $100,000 to remove.
