Agree with you 100%. Was wanting to repurchase the SD43 which i had sold earlier this year. Approached my friendly rolex AD and he was shamelessly asking for a $3000 premium. I was like bye bye, thank you, hello blue wavy seamaster300. Glad i got rid of the bulky SD43 and got my hands on this. Love this watch :)

I bought the black Seamaster as well, simply because j thought I was getting more bang for my buck. Couldn't be happier

I can't afford a Rolex but I have a blue seamaster. I would love a black submariner. The hulk doesn't appeal to me , looks horrible. I hope one day Omega knock the stuffing outta Rolex lol

I have "Datejust41 bi colour" i bought for 13K and wanted to buy a "hulk sub" as a sportwatch but not available in any rolex store for months, just online for double the price so i finally bought a black omega gold steel "seamaster diver 300m chrono" for 9K. So beautiful!

Exactly ! Those little touches improve the uniqueness of the watch and in my opinion make it much more attractive than the Rolex

I could’ve bought lots of Rolex watches but I never did because they never appealed to me. I have owned Breitling but they were a disappointment and have had two Omega watches. I currently own one Kmega and am scoping out another! Get over it, already, not everyone wants a Rolex. They’re not the desire of everyone who wants to own an automatic watch! They look cheap to me. Who the heck glues a magnifying glass feature on the inside of a watches sapphire crystal, anyway! Also, Rolex cut it’s production in half, so there is more demand than supply. If doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better than an Omega, although appearances might fool people. They’re supposed to build another factory in Switzerland and increase their production but as a friend pointed out to me, both Rolex, Omega and many of the watch manufacturers are getting killed by the sale of Apple watches! That’s right, a piece of junk like an Apple(Wouldn’t even call those watches) are virtually crippling the watch industry, as the watch companies are scurrying, trying to figure what to do. I can’t see it, though. People like you and me live automatic watches and know what they are. However, just like all the other modern technology crazes out there, it has people ‘fixated.’

Completely disagree. I have an SMP 300m (same as this vid). I know its technically superior. Would I swap it for a James Cameron Deepsea that I know isn't a big improvement (next watch on my radar), 100% I would. Whats technically better isn't the same as what people want.

The average owner of any of these watches never dives, and if they do, they seldom if ever go deeper then 30 meters, 200 meters is more than any dive watch needs.

@@gasparjohnson3774 Greater movement, power reserve, dial, finish on the bezel and bezel inserts, better quality steel used in the case and bracelet. Additionally the oyster bracelet being tapered wears much better. Any more you'd like me to add?

@@chrismartin4607 904 Stainless is no more scratch-resistant than regular stainless and because of the higher nickel content is more prone to cause allergies. Fit and finish aren't any better then the Seamaster, not one iota, and the bezel insert is certainly not better than my SMP 2018. The Master Chronometer METAS movement with the 55-hour power reserve is better as well and is completely anti-magnetic, it is COSC rated at -0 to +6 meaning you never have to reset the time, just hack it until the correct time catches up! Mine has been steadily running at +2, never slow! I own a Rolex, they are just for the Kool-Aid drinkers to waste extra money on when you can get a better watch a 1/3rd the price!

@@gasparjohnson3774 The fit and finish of my friends deepsea is a level about that of my 2018 Seamaster. Its plainly obvious. The polish and the flip lock clasp is also of significant better quality to that of the Omega. Its simply a better watch. Now 3x the price better probably not, but I know what id rather have

Just about to get Omega black wave dial on rubber strap. Can you order the bracelet and interchange them? Currently own Daytona SS white dial but really like the Omega SM for a change it up. Especially since any Rolex I like are no where to be found which is irritating as a consumer.

Both incredible watches, the omega is clearly the better watch for the value compared to the sub but there is just something about Rolex that makes it more desirable, most likely the marketing and exclusiveness. It’s human nature! People want what they can’t have

Panerai only holds value if it's the big case like 44mm and above. I would get Omega if your wrist is not huge , for Panerai if you can't wear 44-48mm case then don't bother

99.9% of buyers will never use the He escape valve, but I can understand why they added it. Thanks to the prevalence of the Submariner, any dive watch with a 3 o’clock crown inevitably ends up looking a little like a Sub. When Omega designed the original SMP over 25 years ago, their brief was to make it their own, and definitely not something that would be mistaken for a Rolex. Thanks to that He escape valve, nothing on the market today can be mistaken for a Seamaster. Really wish they hadn’t made it bigger in the new ones though...

If you have a good relationship with your authorised dealer and prepared to wait a long time then you pay retail. If you want it now you pay whatever the asking price. That why Rolex holds it value.

It's a more conservative brand - some see special edition as fan service which is not their stance. Rolex comes in a plastic box, the Omega in beautiful wood. The idea is that Rolex knows best... For better or worse.

We had several at the time of this video- they all sold quickly. We get new watches every day :)

You left out the fact they lack of any kind of AR and every reflection comes off the dial like death rays!
