I remember an old Soulwax interview where they were asked “what’s one song you would never remix” - probably fishing for like a “Britney Spears lol” answer - and what they said was “‘Blue Monday’ because anything we did could only make it worse”. I guess in the end the only way they could think to square that circle was to kinda make it a shrine to itself

Been listening to it all day I usually hate remixes, but they stuck to the classic synth sound of New Order, not crap like today's crap music! Gen X had it so good

F*cking Awesome! Just transported myself back to the 80’s dance clubs that defined my youth! I lived and breathed New Order back in the day. I bought every album, every single, every 12”, every mix. 17th of january (so called blue monday) today but everybody seems to be forgotten the meaning of blue monday! So here we go: Blue monday: when late 19th and early 20th century factory workers didn't drink all of their earning in the weekend, and had some spare money on monday, they wouldn't work but go spend the remains of their earnings at the local bar. Fuck the banks and brilliant music indeed XD

I've listened to Radio Souwax part 2 too many times, if such a thing is even possible: I keep waiting for Sandwiches by Detroit Grand Poobahs to come in. It's a brilliant remix. That they've managed to take so many elements from so many different versions to create this mix is fantastic.

There's like 15 versions of Blue Monday and I don't feel like switching between all of them. This one does justice to all of them at once while not being uncharacteristic of New Order despite being a fan mashup. You are right however, Blue Monday is perfect.
