I’m surprised you actually played the chords on the high frets. I use to play this on a four string but was difficult. Got a six string but open a with the d on the a string, man I should’ve thought of that.

It's honestly the way I've always played it on a 4 string bass,usually my Fender Precision,but my Danelectro Longhorn bass is more suited to it. Watched a video of New Order on their first tour of the US in 1980,and Hooky was playing this on a Fender Precision as their gear got stolen,so had borrowed equipment. He looked pretty lost for some reason on this,as he usually plays his 6 string Shergold bass for this. I think Hooky suited the Fender,but I'm only saying that cos I'm a Fender fan.

This was the first song off their debut album. The rest of that album was mediocre. Their second album, Power, corruption and lies is where they took off.

The Him is the greatest song between both Joy Divison and New Order though

@@corvidox In my opinion Joy Division and New Order were completely different bands. I know that New Order was formed after Ian Curtis committed suicide by the members of Joy Division plus Gillian Gilbert but the band's were completely different. New Order's music wasn't as dark as Joy Division's.
