I take it that was a deliberate pun at the end "you could have a field day in here" Very good George. Shame about 220 and those impatient drivers.

George it's always handy when people park on a corner. Especially when there's double yellow lines, it makes it really easy when you've a trailer on.

Good to see the old stumping ground (thaxted) now up on whittlesford and go to the museum when I can , great video George can't wait for part three .

All of your videos are always interesting and I especially enjoyed this one and how you made the chaining down of the machinery appear far easier than it must have been. People might not realise the physicality of the jobs - hard work but I guess rewarding.

you should always cross your chains keeps stuff from sliding side to side;)
@cameronwills58227 жыл бұрын
You need a big steel tube for the chain tensioner's because it gives more leverage as do this in Australia
@joeburrows67 жыл бұрын
This ain't a long story short it's the whole fucking book Jesus u rattle on lol like the vids.

Show us some of the machinery George, that is a little different than we have in the States
@samrayment68997 жыл бұрын
surely strapping/chaining a vehicle down is the same as we do with recovery, strap the wheel or axel so it doesnt bounce and snap staps or chains

with a snap binder if you cant grab a full link go to where you hooked onto the side of trailer clevis and grab a link there . it will equal to half link over the total length.

I know the load has to be secure but would it be easier using ratchet straps.
@brinkme17727 жыл бұрын
it's probably not legal to use straps to secure machinery. It's not in the states.
@mountainman20207 жыл бұрын
Ratchet straps aren't as strong as chains !
@legend24607 жыл бұрын
And also you need a twitch pipe about a meter or so the longer the better for more leverage hand tightened twitches are not tight enough

I followed your trip up until the McDonald's on the roundabout... Is it you lot that farm those big fields either side of the M11? I used to work on Duxford Quarry you passed.

@legend24607 жыл бұрын
George you should never chain of the side rail they aren't rated for loads like the clevits would be if the load tries to fall off it'll just tear those rails outwards in all honesty that trailer needs more places to chain to

I would hate to ride those narrow roads, especially considering I've ridden in a pickup truck as wide and almost as tall as your big rig
@woolliehead7 жыл бұрын
if my boss saw me chain down like that I wouldnt have a job those chains are not tight that machine could move and most likely will should have at least a metre length of pipe about inch and a half and tighten down with that nothing will move then

@williamkeaton10127 жыл бұрын
Just a question, why are the roads so narrow? There is plenty of room to of made them wider. Just curious.
@Sean-if7rp7 жыл бұрын
Not a particularly dense population or traffic on the road compared to many places in the world so a big wide road would benefit a few people like George but would be to the detriment of many like land owners and it would cost the government much much more
