Just through the hitch. Remove the ball and put the reel in upside down.

it ran all winter under a 6 foot snow drift, thought i killed it. After i pulled it out of the snow i made a containment system for it out of an old fishing tackle box. It's still working good and to be honest i have not had a single cow get out on one of its fences. knock on wood.
