I find it hard to care about any of this at the moment. In my opinion, shot show reloading companies should have all been there to give updates on primer and powder availability. Nearly everything is irrelevant when I've been able to buy 200 primers in 2 years.

Apparently people learned nothing from the Obama years. When you buy componets (primers) you buy them by the 5000 primer case, when you buy powder you buy as much and you can possibly afford (8# jugs). When you buy bullets, buy as many boxes as your Wife has shoes and expensive jeans and dresses and perfume and lotions and notions. Then use the same logic on Her that she uses on You. "They were on sale and i was going to buy them anyway so i actually saved us money." Remember this a shortage of any 1. componet can and will make a firearm useless to you. Don't think for 1. minute that there will be an endless stream of componets available ever again.

I don’t remember where, but I saw some online. I do remember they were CCI Large Rifle, 1000 count for $75. Maybe Powder Valley or Midsouth. As long as asshole don’t hoard, you should start seeing something this year.

@@coldtexan7963 - I never really saw supplies on the shelves in ‘21. Now I’m seeing things at the big box stores, and I was able to get some powder (not ideally what I wanted). Suddenly, most of my bullets are finally in stock. Manufacturers are working around the clock, and I honestly think they are starting to catch up. It took them a long time to tool up and train people. I’m not optimistic about prices going down until idiots stop hoarding. These are the same nut jobs that cause the run on toilet paper 🧻

That "slop" in the ram could actually be a good thing and be there on purpose. Having movement in either the base of the cartridge (Mec Metallic Reloader) or die itself (think Forester coaxial) are designed that way because the movement allows perfect centering along the axis of motion. This will reduce runout in your rifle reloads significantly. I have the MEC and I LOVE it. This could be a great press.

Just a quick comment on the Forester press you were talking about. I have a RCII and a Lyman Spartan, both 40 years old but the ram runout is measured in the 10 thousands of an inch but I haven't seen a press yet that doesn't allow the shell holder slop around, even their M Press is billed as having a floating head. I took a 7/8"x14 blank and squared the face on a surface grinder, threaded it into both presses and compared the squareness of the rams to the face of the blank on an optical comparator basically checking the alignment of the die bore to the ram, both were spot on providing really nice concentricity with my rounds. The point is that holding a case perfectly solid going into a threaded in and locked die is not the best idea, besides the shell holder provides plenty of slop and is good as long as the operation is square. A slight amount of runout in the ram won't hurt anything as long as the operating surfaces are square.

People keep asking about primers, there are a couple of ways to get them, set up a monitoring bot that will auto buy them when in stock, pay somebody to do it for you or join the reloading discord and set up push notifications for when the primers come in stock. It's a good idea to either have your credit card saved with the retailer, browser or app, make sure you are already logged in with the retailers, you gotta be REALLY fast, before stuff goes out of stock or the server crashes. Also be ready to pay a ridiculous amount for primers, and some retailers are limiting to one brick. I get primer notifications all the time.

Owned a Lyman express trimmer for months, been using hand trimmer though as the collet #19 that doesn’t come with kit cannot be made at moment per Lyman, due to lack of materials. Hopefully it comes in next few months

I'd like to see some testing of low, mid, and high-weight 6.5-CM projectiles ... out of a long(ish) barrel bolt action rifle. Along with a "best for twist rate" discussion and testing. Settling on a 6.5-CM projectile is a challenge for me.

Yeah its the exact same thing with "New Car Commercials", none on the car lot but you can order that truck but it'll take 6-8 months for delivery!

The most disturbing part of this review is between scene 4:39 to the 4:47. Hodgdon not only distributes its own line of powder but also owns and/or distributes the following brands of powder: Winchester, IMR, Accurate Arms, Ramshot and Blackhorn. The fact that Hodgdon didn't even bother showing up in their product booth is a pretty good indicator of what the availability of powder in the retail market will be like for 2022 and possibly beyond.

Apparently, the way shot show works is by a points system or something. So if you’re in a good spot, but didn’t show up, it might set you back a couple years in the line. Some companies saw that it was more fiscally responsible to reserve their booths but not set them up, since the cost of setting up a booth and having employees go (riSkiNg gEttInG iNfEcteD wiTH OmiCrOn) was too big of a gamble.

Primers are still hard to come by especially at a decent price but powder seems to slowly coming back I got some Varget 5744 imr 4198 as of late.

I still have about 500 Federal 215 primers I bought little over twenty-five years ago. I use them for loading my Weatherby magnum and Nosler cartridges. Needless to say, I don't shoot them like I do .357 Sig. The sticker price on each tray is marked $1.79. The whole brick was marked $15.99. Never thought that the primer supply, demand, availability, situation would be as dismal as it is today. When I first began handloading, the guy who mentored me said, "Pick up components for the cartridges you handload, when ever you have a few extra bucks." Following that sage advice has lessened the impact of the current components shortage on my handloading activities. Still, it's a bit disconcerting as to what the future of handloading is going to look like, if we ever get past the shotage/price gouging/rationing dilemma we're currently facing.

I've had a :LabRadar for going on 3 years and never had any trouble getting it to ;link to my older Samsung phone and tablets. Updated the firmware, still waiting on the app for Android, but with both the old and new firmware it will not link to my new Samsung A32, still links to the tablet, however. Hope the new app helps if it ever makes it over the threshold.

Glad to heard some good news about reloading. I feel with how many new shooters have started most companies should of thought of a cheap single stage press that dedicated 9mm or/and 223 only. Maybe a 0 to - 3 bump that only has 3 clicks for rifle. Stupid simple kind of idea.

Dam I had hopes that Starline brass would come out with some 6.5PRC brass. It looks like Frankford has lots of new stuff, but we wont be seeing any of that stuff anytime soon since its all made in the P.R.C. That press may set the reloading world on fire when primers and the press itself starts shipping someday. That is a great idea Forester has putting 4 sizes of throat diameter on a screwdriver handle. Too bad its $250.00 for the 4pc set!

I have the intellidropper.its a Good machine. Powder calibration is a god send. I did need to warranty it out first day of use then again after 6 months of use however. This is the 3rd one I have recieved.. so warranty department is on par.

The 30 cal 177 grain with that great ballistic coefficient sounds like a winner for the 308. That's what the 308 needs to push it ahead of some calibers always compared to it

They're coming back....midway had imr 4895 for 3 or 4 days this week....I went to a local gun shop and they had everything but LRP for primers. Lots of ammo in the local shops now. 9mm dropped to 14.00 a box at the gun show on Saturday. At least one vender.....lots below 20.00 a box.

Some are concerned about ram-slop, and some see it's good to have a floating shell holder. ??? Is the concern about ram-slop primarily for presses with a hard-stop? (where any force applied after reaching the stop could result in a horizontal movement to the top of the ram)

After using the new Android app and updating the firmware for the LabRadar. I find it tobe a Game Changer. It solved a lot of the Bluetooth issues and the app, " after a learning curve" made navigating the app a lot faster. JM2C😎

Awesome, thanks for the Reloading 22 update. I have been using the Frankford Arsenal, Intellidropper. it has a powder calibrate that works well. Hope, the RCBS scale is just a awesome. BTW...those Berger 153.5's are amazing. I've been using them to shoot 1000 to 1200yds. It's my new favorite projectile. Thanks for the content, keep up the good work.

The Intellidropper is an overlooked choice. Had mine since 2019, load to .05 grain by trickling on a $20 'Newcalox' scale from Amazon.

Like the Forster neck tension gauge set. But not for no $300 bucks! As for the Frankfort Arsenal rotary tumbler timer upgrade, having just picked one up like you have, I wouldn’t and don’t need one with a continuous setting. Just makes it more of a possibility it gets left on. Not to mention theses far, using Dawn dish soap and a 9mm capful of Lemi-Shine, I’ve yet to need anymore than 2 hours on any of the cases I’ve used it on this far. And I’ve cleaned 9mm to 30.06. As for the Hornady, weren’t they also at some event in Sputh Dakota or somewhere up that way? I saw a picture of Steve and someone else with Gov. Kristi Noem. So maybe they brought the stuff there. Or, maybe I saw it but it was From some other time? But I do believe that’s where their stuff was? And give me a break! Sorry, but I’ll never use my phone to control anything! Not even a light switch or my TV! SMDH

There is a plant opening up in Texas this year. They are gonna manufacture ammo, but they are also gonna be manufacturing and selling primers.

I have been a bit frustrated with Frankford Arsenal. I've been looking for months for a perfect fit reloading tray but they said the one I need has been discontinued. I have them for every other caliber but nothing for 6ARC.

I bet the component booths took a lot of flak. I couldn't imagine trying to field the customer complaints, explaining why there are no primers, and very little powder. Also, to note, right about the time Shot Show opened up, some of the bigger online dealers started to trickle in some primers and powder, probably to diffuse the amount of complaints. I live in WA state, and reloading components are scarce. The dealers I call just laugh, and or sympathize depending on whether they personally rely on components. Reloading used to be a fun, and somewhat economical way to keep a supply of ammo. Now it's just painful. Price gouging and supply shortages turn it into a snipe hunt, and then you have to wonder how some of these Gun Broker thieves actually get the stuff they are selling.

For Memorial day last year, a gun store which normally DOES NOT sell reloading supplies had a pyramid of small pistol/rifle & large pistol/rifle primers. When I asked if there was a limit to purchase, they told me "No." Purchased $5,000 of primers @ $100per box of 1k. Sold them for 175 online. Keeping 10% more than I wanted to stockpile. Keep yer eyes peeled. =)

Always have been done right by Starline for 10mm Auto and RCBS micrometer dies and gauges for precision rifle. Dillon RL550 still running strong and tight with basic cleaning and maintenance. DEFINITELY would love an alternative to shaking out primers and using / changing out primer feeding tubes. Besides case prep, farting with changing primers is the longest step to my reloading sessions. SOOOO glad I loaded up on components after Obama re-election crisis. Prices and availability is crazy and manufacturers very well should be focused on resupply of the market.

Cool stuff,but makes no sense to buy it if you cant get components to reload on it. Tried to buy some 296 this weekend and they wanted 40 bucks a pound (not paying anywhere near that) and no primers anyway. Hopefully this is over soon and i can get back to shooting.

They told me they are just waiting on approval and expected it last week. I assume it will be soon, however it's a bit cold where I live at the moment so no big deal for me. I did see it installed on the reps android phone and it was functional.

I'd be interested in Alliant's Reloader 11 TS. I'm wondering if it's burn rate is closer to old Reloader 12, than Reloader 10x. Alliant is terrible at marketing it's powder, even today there is no mention of RL-11 TS on their website, nearly 2 months after Shot. I'm puzzled if they even employ any competent ballisticians, as the excellent PP Varmint powder bullet weight load data stops @ 55 grains while burn rate wise it's right up next to Ramshot TAC and slower than their own AR Comp which has 223 data up to 90 grains. It's like the company doesn't want to sell any of it. And since it's never in stock, perhaps they don't. It's inexcusable not to have any 5.56mm reload Data on their powders, as 5.56mm & 223 Wylde chambers are some of the most popular in America. And AR shooter are prolific reloaders, especially at today's ammo prices. Unfortunately it's the same thing they did with the lack of marketing Reloader 12 nearly 20 years ago. It appears they haven't got any smarter at Alliant.

All youi folks, take a hint.....when stuff is available again, buy three times what you need. I did the same after the nobama crap and still continue to reload and shoot. BTW, that slop in that ram is going to be a huge problem because it is going to wear unevenly and cause big issues. I'll stay with my Redding Tmag press.

Too bad that 4pc Forster gauge set of screwdriver shaft tools is $250.00! Yikes. It was a great idea Forster had! (just way too expensive imho.) I just bought a new set of 250 pin gauges for $119.00 instead. Now I can use the pin gauge set with Porter Precision collet die for neck tension adjustment .

I saw a 8# jug at one of my "local" shops and it was $499. Glad I didn't need any that bad. Another local shop had 1# for $40 limit one. Seems that most answers aren't too easy today.

I think it is very hit and miss. People are buying anything on the shelf so knowing what actually shows up and how fast it disappears is anybodys guess.
