I purchased this set for my son who works as a tech for Toyota and used them every day all day. Everything about these are awesome. Finish, which are great for grip under oily conditions, long grip for torque, open end 3 point has better grip, angle offset box end for getting proper bolt position, gear switch so not to have to pull wrench off bolt, durable and great warranty. In my opinion, one of the best engineered wrenches available. As far as I’m aware, There’s no equal.

The Tektons actually have a 15% offset on the box end, and they ARE available in reversible. The open end is round on the inside instead of straight angles. Price is $125 for the Tekton vs $200 for the Capri. I do like the Capri slightly more on features and length. However, sorry, but Tekton wins this one on price alone. Both quality tools with lifetime warranty. Tekton warranty is superior though, no receipt needed. I went and bought tekton..

The Icon set is a better set even if it is chrome. It's longer for more leverage and reach, but the biggest thing is the teeth inside the open end like snap-on has - they just dont slip under torque like a standard open end can. Also, the warranty on the Icon line is much easier to fulfill! Im not a HF fanboy and i laughed when I saw them begin carrying Icon, but the wrenches are legit.

Chris--Some comments of a minor nature. I do't recall hearing you state the tooth count on the ratcheting wrench sets. Seventy-two (72) teeth seems to be standard now, but some brands are higher/lower than that, so it's useful to have that pointed out in the comparisons, as well. The Hazet brand is German-made; I've usually heard it pronounced "Hot-zet". I like that the Capri sets offer the V-shape at the open end, which gives a better grip than a semi-rounded end. And it was good to hear that someone other than the tool-truck brands offers a six-point (on the closed end) wrench set; they're difficult to find in the consumer market. Thanks.

I've got a set of Wright tools wright grip combination wrenches. They compare to the snap on flank drive plus wrenches. With those the open end grips hard enough to snap off grade 8 bolts. If you're interested in some really great regular non racheting combination wrenches check out wright grip wrenches. Summit racing has the best price I've found.

I'm not much of a mechanic but I've had a number of projects lately that have required decent wrenches/socket tools. When I saw these I thought of a metric X frame set that SK offers as the closest comparison. They are similar in price but lack the offset and seem to have some potential quality control issues if some reviews are to be believed. I have a set of SAE nut drivers from Capri that were priced very competitively and are comparable/better in quality to the competition. Will definitely have to check out their add

Unfortunately, as of July 2024 these wrenches are no longer available. Capri now offers only a very limited selection of ratcheting wrenches. The best option offered by Capri is a set of 4 specialty box end wrenches that covers 16 of the most commonly used sizes in total. Each end covers two sizes (4 wrenches x 2 ends x 2 sizes per end).

Tekton vs Greenlee. Who is Rebranding Who? Greenlee and Tekton are the exact same Ratcheting Wrenches. Is Greenlee rebranding for Tekton or is Tekton rebranding for Greenlee? Or is Tekton and Greenlee both rebranding them from someone else?
@uofscifi9166

We already know that Tekton and Titan are both rebranding some of their Asian made pliers from the same source. They even have the same exact red grips on the handle. The only difference is the name stamped on it. Although Tekton has taken more of an initiative in recent years to make some of their pliers themselves in the U.S.A. Also, Greenlee has been guilty of rebranding some of Channel Locks pliers before too. Although both Greenlee and Tekton typically make most of their tools, at the same time those two companies do have a history of rebranding some stuff.

@@uofscifi9166 Actually Greenlee was owned by the same company that owned Polaris Motorcycles and ArticCat Snowmobiles as strange as that sounds, it's true. But Greenlee was sold to Emerson in 2018. Emerson is the same company that owns Ridgid. Tekton is based in Michigan and Greenlee is based in Illinois. So it's entirely possible that Greenlee and Tekton are liaisons with each other on a few of their products.

THIS IS WHY I STOPPED BUYING GEARWRENCH,,, BECAUSE ALL OF THE WRENCHES YOU HAVE SHOWN EXCEPT THE BLACK HAWK SUFFER FROM LOBSTER CLAWING THEY DON'T FIT INTO THE TIGHT PLACES FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN AS AN AUTO TECHNICIAN.

Tekton?? Besides Capri tools is a woke company... From what I can tell they don't do much in the way of supporting men's health issues as much as women... Not a big deal but something to consider or not.
