I purchased this set for my son who works as a tech for Toyota and used them every day all day. Everything about these are awesome. Finish, which are great for grip under oily conditions, long grip for torque, open end 3 point has better grip, angle offset box end for getting proper bolt position, gear switch so not to have to pull wrench off bolt, durable and great warranty. In my opinion, one of the best engineered wrenches available. As far as I’m aware, There’s no equal.

The Tektons actually have a 15% offset on the box end, and they ARE available in reversible. The open end is round on the inside instead of straight angles. The Icon set is a better set even if it is chrome. It's longer for more leverage and reach, but the biggest thing is the teeth inside the open end like snap-on has - they just dont slip under torque like a standard open end can. Chris--Some comments of a minor nature. I do't recall hearing you state the tooth count on the ratcheting wrench sets. Seventy-two (72) teeth seems to be standard now, but some brands are higher/lower than that, so it's useful to have that pointed out in the comparisons, as well. The Hazet brand is German-made; I've usually heard it pronounced "Hot-zet". I like that the Capri sets offer the V-shape at the open end, which gives a better grip than a semi-rounded end. And it was good to hear that someone other than the tool-truck brands offers a six-point (on the closed end) wrench set; they're difficult to find in the consumer market. Thanks.

Tekton vs Greenlee. Who is Rebranding Who? Greenlee and Tekton are the exact same Ratcheting Wrenches. Is Greenlee rebranding for Tekton or is Tekton rebranding for Greenlee? Or is Tekton and Greenlee both rebranding them from someone else?
@uofscifi91664 жыл бұрын
We already know that Tekton and Titan are both rebranding some of their Asian made pliers from the same source. They even have the same exact red grips on the handle. The only difference is the name stamped on it. Although Tekton has taken more of an initiative in recent years to make some of their pliers themselves in the U.S.A. Also, Greenlee has been guilty of rebranding some of Channel Locks pliers before too. Although both Greenlee and Tekton typically make most of their tools, at the same time those two companies do have a history of rebranding some stuff.

@@uofscifi9166 Actually Greenlee was owned by the same company that owned Polaris Motorcycles and ArticCat Snowmobiles as strange as that sounds, it's true. But Greenlee was sold to Emerson in 2018.
