Great review Joe . I havent heard the other 3 songs yet but I think February Sky is one of the best things Ringo has done for years. The 4 non-blondes song is called 'What's Up' but I doing relasise it was written by Linda Perry until watching your video. Great work.

Very nice review and you make so many good points not just about the music but also the experience of listening to the physical form. I bought the EP Saturday and was anxious to hear the other 3 tracks since I had already heard February Sky (which I previously purchased on iTunes) and love it. Love this new EP and I think Linda Perry is a good fit for Ringo AND a very FRESH approach. Most welcome. Well done on this video, Joe. You give viewers a good description and honest assessment. 👍

I absolutely love every song and rate this the best of his EPs so far. Not that I don't rate a number of songs from the earlier EPs. I certainly do. But this is great top to bottom. Sits comfortably among the best of his solo work is my opinion as of now several listens in. A wonderful welcome if unexpected surprise both this and the Rolling Stones album from several months back. I played Hackney Diamonds the other day and it holds up still. I look forward to seeing what I think of Crooked Boy six months from now. Loving it for now though. Glad I got the RSD version instead of waiting until the regular release date.

The way you said we get the idea about one the song made me laugh for about 10 mins.

Totally agree on the physical copies. I try not to preview streams of new material for anyone , not fair to the artists.

It is a decent EP. I sorta checked out listening to the second side though. Only listened to it through once. A few more spins should get me there.

I love this EP. Especially Gonna Need Someone is an excellent song and I would love to hear that live. The Strokes guitarist plays on the song. This is my favorite track. The lyrics work for the song and the music is great.

Thx for your initial comments. I do happen to enjoy all these new songs, even the title track, & I am super glad that Ringo is still making music. My disappointment here is that the record's only got 4 tracks. Give us an album's worth!!! I want another great record full of Ringo songs, like on the "Ringo" and "Goodnight Vienna" albums (when he was produced by a DIFFERENT Perry!!!)

All I could think of with "Gonna need someone" was Jet - are you gonna be my girl.

I’d already heard Feb Sky and Gonna Need Someone from the Amoeba single, so really only Adeline and the title track were brand new to me. So far, this is my ranking: 1. Gonna Need Someone 2. Crooked Boy 3. February Sky 4. Adeline Out of all the tracks, only Adeline didn’t impress me that much. It was ok. February Sky is a solid Ringo track and I love his raw vocals and the guitar work you mentioned (both are great throughout the entire EP). Crooked Boy is also strong, but I feel like it could grow more on me to become my favorite on this EP. It’s a really touching “life story” song for Ringo, and I would liken it to Paul’s The End of the End, but Ringo’s version. Then there’s Gonna Need Someone. Right away the energy grabbed me in a way Ringo’s music hasn’t done for maybe a few years now. Personally the repetitive lyrics don’t bother me at all, and this track sits comfortably in first place. I could only see the title track overtaking this one.

Lucky you scoring a copy. I was told only 2000 were pressed. I've bought all of Ringo's recent releases, not sure if I will get this one. The last one, Rewind Forward, was hard to track down. Our local shop only ordered one copy, and it was snatched up before I got there. If I see this one, I will grab it, but not making the great effort again.,

Its ok. I have stopped buying Ringo EPs but will listen on digital. Normally i prefer physical .

I like Ringo but refuse to pay $15 for four songs on an EP when I can just stream. That being said I grew up with and love physical media as it’s a completely different experience. But Ringo’s EPs are way too over priced on CD….

Good looking cap man

Ringo definitely used autotune a lot over the last 15 years so so. Listed to the track postcards from paradise he almost sounds robotic it’s used so much!! I far prefer the new ep as his voice sounds so much more natural even if it’s a bit rough at times. February sky is a brilliant song best he has done is years.

Well, I just bought the EP in MP3. Figured I'd give it a listen before bed, if Amazon Music would cooperate. I swear, that site is beyond temperamental. It reminds me why I download everything immediately and just shuffle everything in Windows Media Player... As for the music itself? Meh. No doubt I'll grow to appreciate it the more I listen to it, but first impressions were underwhelming. February Sky didn't warrant a second listen after the initial release, Adeline was whatever, Crooked Boy was fine, Gonna Need Someone, now that had a great sense of energy to it. That's the only instant winner here. Like I said, I'll be giving it another try when I sync the EP to my phone tomorrow, but as of this comment, this is probably Ringo's worst EP of the 2020s...
