New Rory & Mal

2 жыл бұрын

Let’s get to it !! Rory & Mal do a short recap of their Labor Day weekends, and then immediately get into their review of the highly anticipated Certified Lover Boy album that released hours after they recorded last week’s episode, track by track (6:45) ! They also get into the leaked Kanye track featuring Andre3000's verse about his late mother (45:45), which leads into a discussion about the guys own relationships with their mothers (55:45) . Rory gives Mal a wild math lesson ( 1:13:55) , the guys give flowers to the beloved Michael K Williams (1:26:45), + more!
Like, comment, subscribe! And don’t forget to text us questions for next week at 917-810-2295!

CLB is mid because its the same ol Drake. His thoughts about women are the same at 34 as they were at 24. There is no growth, nothing crazy, nothing amazing. Its just the same ol, "I have sex with a lot of women, I'm the best rapper, I eat fine foods, sprinkle in some thoughts about family, etc". There is nothing amazing about it. There is not even a new angle on those topics. Its high quality "safe" hip hop. The skill and wit is undeniable. He will do his numbers and people will move on quickly.

It's not. The things Drake says are things you'd say to a therapist. What do you want him to tell you? How many hairs grow out his left armpit? He gets personal enough. He is the most emotionally vulnerable rapper of all time arguably. He has become a meme because of how emotionally open he is. Nobody ever judges Kendrick for talking about "woke" things all the time, so why is Drake judged for staying in his own lane when Kendrick always stays in his, same for Cole. Drake doesn't need to do what they do and they don't need to do what he does.
