This season is heavily inspired by benkei's story, the bridge with 1000 swords, the amount benkei was tasked to obtain, the eight weapons scattered around the map are all the weapons benkei is depicted with and may hint at what the new hero may use, the mask is probably a reference to benkei's youth where he was called a demon becouse of his physical strength and how big he was. My personal theory is that, based on the lore we've been getting, the new hero is a wandering warrior who seeks to hone their skills by fighting strong opponents, at some point he hears about a lone Orochi guarding a bridge that has gone undefeated against hundreds of warriors and decides to go test his skills on a duel. Both fight but katashi wins and both become friends and rivals, because this was katashis hardest fight to date and the only time the new hero has lost in a duel, afterwards maybe katashi convinces the new hero to not just travel aimlessly and instead find a purpose like he himself has done and that's why the new hero joins the war now and not sooner. This theory has a problem though and it's the same problem gryphon has, that this would make the new hero a character not a class so there's only one, though I guess it could still fit with benkei's story. The weapons are 4 and they are hidden in the map. There is also a spear but is not that one. Go to reddit if you want there are all the "unfamiliar" weapons.

Ubi said the next hero is going to be a master of multiple weapons. They actually show a shadow figure at the end of the new hero skin trailer. The shadow figure looked like a big shugoki with a helmet with horns with four weapons on his back. What I’m assuming is the new hero will wield possibly four weapons. A spear, a rake, an iron staff & the fourth don’t know. Possibly a Kensei type sword or even a kanabo. But the hero will definitely wield at least three weapons.

Okay, so after reading @alessiomicaletti8101 informative comment I began searching for more info about Benkei (New Hero potentially) and the story aligns too well for this not to be what the devs are using. Benkei was Shugoki-esque in size and primarily used a naginata which is what Nobushi is an expert with so I'm down for some variation off of that. Because of that, I still think the primary weapon for the new hero (based off Benkei) still could be the yari on Sanctuary Bridge. He definitely collected weapons which he carried on his back, so it would be cool to see the For Honor team show this aspect. He tried to defeat Yoshitsune (who is Katashi in For Honor) and lost twice. They became good friends and Benkei found purpose. Benkei and Yoshitsune were a dynamic duo fighting in wars together and coming out victorious. Yoshitsune eventually became an outlaw and his lands were taken from him. Benkei and a small group stayed by his side until they were hunted down. Benkei fought them off until they resorted to arrows. Nowing defeat was imminent, Benkei's efforts gave Yoshitsune time to commit seppuku instead of having his enemies take him down. When the enemies approached, they noticed Benkei riddled with arrows but still standing! So that's some of what I read and most of what I got out of this video here if you want to see the potential correlation of what For Honor will be doing with the new hero compared to the story of Benkei and what they are doing with Katashi and the 1000 blade bridge. Benkei sounds like a dang demon in a good way and I hope some semblance of this is what we have coming on 25 July! What are your thoughts? Im going to go completely left field and say the new hero might just be most if not all the Japanese hero wrapped in one in the form of benkei. It will be like changing your hero mid combat.

Just a few days ago, my friends and I were geeking out about what weapons the new hero would have and how they would use them. I remember one of my friends imagining the new hero would have a claw that they would use to jump on you and cause bleed, similar to Shaman's hickie or Warmonger's backhands. Another friend and I speculated that each weapon would completely alter the character's fighting style on a fundamental level. What I mean is that each weapon would essentially change the hero's class. They would wield smaller weapons like an assassin and larger weapons like a heavy. More hard-to-master weapons would be used to fight like a hybrid. This exemplifies the various weapons that Benkei collected throughout the ckurse of his life. His main weapon was a naginata, but since Nobushi took that off the table, I believe the new character will wield a yari. If they do, I will not use a single character until I hit rep 80 with them! I'll play different characters if I must, but good luck getting me to do so! There's also a daily order that says that Katashi was able to defeat the enemy hordes with ease thanks to the Muramasa Blade, but the new hero is supposedly from a remote part of the Myre, and traveling to Seion Bridge to challenge him. This "location" gives the impression that the new hero lived a life of solitude before hearing of Katashi's exploits.

Why are the last two weeks of July so stacked? TennoCon for warframe and a Guilty Gear Dual Rulers trailer on July 20, Mk1 season 7 and Takeda gameplay trailer on the 22nd, Takeda and Ferra releasing on the 23rd, the new For Honor hero livestream on July 24th and the new hero on July 25th.

Hey, from the shape of the head overall, the spear on the weapon rack is more reminiscent of a western European pike, which makes sense since its surrounded by kite shields longswords and pernachs, Yaris typically have a, broad, and long head with a uniform width, Pikes(specifically talking about the head) have elongated blade that tapers to a sharp point. It lacks the broadness and uniformness of width. Yaris dont really taper, if anything they get bigger at the end of the blade. Honestly the more i look at it, the spear you show at the end looks ALOT like a partisan spear, it is for sure not a yari, keep searching tho man :)

Yall got it wrong this hero has Okinawan sai it’s the only weapon that katana can’t defeat and it’s a choice of skilled warriors hero will be different he will have 3 forms melee weapon used for stabbing, striking and disarming opponents

Remember theres more than just that spear it could be either all of em or one of them i gonna guess all of them

I don't think the new hero will have a spear like weapon, and we may already know what the weapons are, if you watch the opening cutscene at the end of it you see an outline of what is most likely the new hero, the outline is supposedly depicted with 4 weapons on their back. The reason for me believing this is because back when Kyoshin was in his teaser trailer they used the same opening background. And they typically use the same background for a part of the trailer or something else with the same theme. Now with the new hero he may have weapons from other samurai hero's but just slightly altered to fit the hero. the new hero will most defiantly be based of of the stories of the real legend but wont be named the same. similar to Shaolin being based of Wu Kong and getting a skin of Wu Kong later on. so we may be having a similar instance for the new hero getting the skin that it is based on later.

Look at the weapons next to it. There all knight weapons sow I think you are wrong. My gues is a yumani jari which is a spear with heads sticking out in all direction or it's gona be something like a one-handed kanabo, hell maby even a riffle.
