Hi guys!! Will be starting Accutane on Oct 12 (assuming all goes well with lab results on the 11th) and will be having the acne story video coming the following week! I'll be documenting each month on Accutane & filming update videos, etc. This video was pre-filmed, so I ended up being able to get about 2 months of Foundation Friday videos pre-filmed in time before starting Accutane- yay! xx

Omg. All these people who have never had cystic acne giving “advice” on how to get rid of it. I’ve had cystic acne since I was 13. Here’s the list of things I’ve tried to get rid of it. No soda, no dairy, no gluten, no sugar, no caffeine . For a year. Every prescription drug except accutane. Salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, no makeup, working out 3x a week for a year, more sleep, more water. I did all organic food with no processed foods and no dairy for 3 weeks. (The ultimate reset) Guess what. I still have cystic acne. I am now 44 and am considering doing accutane, even though I’m terrified of the side effects. Nobody who hasn’t dealt with this for most of their life gets to have an opinion on what will get rid of it. Good for you, Taylor. I hope it works well for you.

Haley Dring I hope that you eventually find whatever works for you, even if its Accutane. I've not had cystic acne but just having normal breakouts is hard enough I can't begin to imagine how difficult this is for people like you. Life is difficult enough without stuff like this making it worse. I sincerely thank you for sharing the multitude of things you've tried, much like Taylor, to clear your cystic acne. I really think that some people need to understand that for some changing diet and exercising is not going to fix this. Everyone is different and needs different things. You are amazing and I appreciate you sharing.

Honestly unless somebody has walked a mile in your shoes they should just wish you well instead of trying to fix you. I had horrible problems with acne when I was younger and I feel like dietary changes and simply learning better skin care is what helped me the most but that does not mean that it will work for someone else. I get migraines now and it's the same story all over again. Everybody has their own idea of what you should be doing in order to fix it. You just do you and I hope you find that magic cure that works for you. Hugs

This is old comment but I have to comment because I’ve had cystic acne on and off since I was 15. I’m now 38 and still deal with if I don’t keep my hormones balanced. If I take too much vitamin c, d, zinc, or fish oil I get cystic acne. If I take progesterone cream I get cystic acne. For me it is totally hormonal and I have had hormone problems since puberty. I was also on acutane when I was 15 and lost half of my hair and had to have surgery on my face for the cysts they were so horrible. Anyway. The best thing I’ve noticed for me personally was balancing my hormones. Sometimes I use b5 which really helps estrogen, and I’ve noticed dong quai is also wonderful for overall hormone health. I think for me personally it’s progesterone and testosterone imbalances that causes the cysts. I’m not sure if my body doesn’t produce enough estrogen but if I’m not on the pill I will be on herbs to help everything. This has been a life long struggle but I hope anything I’ve said here helps someone. Severe acne is scary disheartening and awful. I don’t wish it on anyone ❤️🙏🏻

sportluver98 I mean how do they explain boys (that don't wear makeup,or ppl who rarely if ever wear it) or if they have a good healthy diet but still have acne or eliminate what u supposedly should. Sure a short diet creates all kinds of issues and problems, I mean? There's SO many experts online it's crazy, I've never met so many in real life tho?! Huh. Lol. Granted I've seen at least one yt who doesn't have good skin care and doesn't really do what they could for their skin then complain it breaks out but not the case here. Taylor is VERY conscious of those things , but trying all the new skincare and having 23 products in your routine isn't the answer

Cassafrass Lee ppl are jealous, they look at a "regular " beauty and someone who is nice sweet and down to earth and think hmmm what can I pick on?? She has no drama let's create some? Bullies come in all forms, that's one thing I've realized. AND from at least what I've seen and experienced it's not the "cool kids" or the pretty ,attractive, popular ppl who have their crap together and have any kind of confidence that are bullying or being nasty, quite the opposite, they should probably think about that. Misery loves company....or so I've always heard 😏

Taylor! My name is Hannah, and I'm a subscriber who discovered your channel earlier in the summer. I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I suffer from two chronic illnesses (dysautonomia and Ehler's Danlos) and for the past couple years they have taken a toll on my self esteem. I have bags and dark circles under my eyes from fatigue and some of my medications really dry out my skin. So naturally, there are some days that I don't even want to look in the mirror (let alone do my makeup). But watching your videos is honestly so inspiring. You tell it exactly how it is and your talk about self love/being comfortable in your own skin gives me the passion to get up and try new things with my makeup every day. Plus you have an awesome sense of humor and are short just like me, lol. So thank you for creating such a genuine channel that helps people like me become more confident and knowledgeable. I hope some day I can do my makeup as well as you (or even better get to be a makeup model for ya 😉) keep doing your thing girl and I wish you the best with accutane! ❤️

yaila pollato accutane is good for both men and women. As Taylor said, your skin will get very dry while taking it, so it is good for people with oily skin and will help reduce their oil production. Accutane is basically meant for hormonal acne.

Juan Ramírez oh yeah. It was pretty hellish. Your lips peel, your skin dries, cracks and flakes. It gets pretty bad. But it’s worth putting up with. I avoided a lot of acne scaring cause I took it early on. You also have to get blood tests every month and it’s expensive.
@talacocheta9001
@talacocheta9001 6 жыл бұрын
@Juan Ramirez - It depends on the person. Accutane made my eyes so dry that I had to get tear duct plugs, and my lips are still chronically dry almost 30 years later. It got rid of most of my cystic acne, but I still had acne because mine was due to Candidas - yeast overgrowth - and not oil production. Some people get cystic acne due to hormones and not oil also, so that might have been some of it, too, for me because my hormones were out of whack. My sister and I ended up with pernicious anemia, which is low B12 and is fatal if not treated properly and the person has super low B12 for too long. I've met numerous people who ended up with pernicious anemia after taking Accutane, too. (I think that the Accutane destroys the intrinsic factor in the stomach which is what absorbs B12.) Do your research. I don't recommend Accutane at all. Good luck!

Juan Ramírez and yeah. Overall my skin is extremely smooth and I have very small pores. The medicine stops me from producing excess oil, stops my pores from clogging and bacteria from building up on my skin and inflammation. So because of all that my skin has very little texture.

I think you should stick to applying primer all over the face since you’re using a sponge on one side and the brush on the other. Different tools may affect the outcome.

She went back over here whole face with the sponge, so you don't actually get a different application. I'd rather have a YTer try another tool on the other side than not. You could even see on camera it didn't apply well that way. I don't see any issues with what she did. This foundation doesn't do as well if you have a lot of texture, from my experience, otherwise it is comparable to a lot of high end foundations.

Is accutane only for skin with serious acne or can i use it if i have 2 or 3 pimples every now and then?
@helloemmex
@helloemmex 6 жыл бұрын
Alessandra Santamaría it is only recommended for people who have persistent acne & after trying other antibiotics first, such as doxycycline, clindamycin & minocycline. It also works great for people who have cystic acne, but there are a lot of serious side effects, so it’s not worth it for someone who has 1 or 2 pimples here and there.

Alessandra Santamaría why would you want to pump your body with a bunch of chemicals to avoid the occasional pimple lol. I get it if you have severe acne, but otherwise it's just silly

hahayourfunny94 most ppl have no clue what their undertone is or put any energy into even trying to figure it out. Often time ppl, a lot of younger ones just go with the prettiest shade or what they want their skin to look like? Makeup isn't (foundation) isnt supports to be like paint ,just to cover but enhance your NATURAL skin. They need to realize it's not just lightest to darkest. You may need to go a different tone not necessarily a shade up or down and maybe theres not a " perfect " shade match ,so if you're not into mixing or adding more or less reds,yellows, whites since that's what all colors (even foundation) is made up of....you probably need to find a different brand or line of foundation to get that match.

Well, it’s been a lifetime of pink shades so I’m actually really glad we’re getting yellow shades. Lots of light skin people have a yellow undertone. Why are you mad lol. Just go buy a foundation that has pink neutral undertones like 90% of brands out there

So happy for you! I got on accutane for body acne (no acne ever on my face oddly enough) when I was fifteen for four months and it healed my skin FOR LIFE. Fifteen years later and I’m still acne free on my body and face. My nose peeled slightly and actually bled on the surface from the peeling during the treatment but that sounds wayyy worse than it actually was. I was happy throughout the process and that was the only side effect I experienced that was even the slightest bit uncomfortable. Good luck!

You should definitely try this one again once your skin dries out! I have super dry skin & I'm also on accutane right now and this is like my Holy Grail foundation - on me anyway it just looks super skinlike and it wears really nicely. I wonder if it's because I'm dry? I have less texture as well which might help. I also set it w/ the wet and wild reserve your Cabana using a damp beauty blender!

My son has autism and needs my 100% attention right now as he develops into a young man. The relationship doesnt reflect what I want him to learn to be a normal relationship because we are basically just coexisting vs being loving. I grew up in a loving home. Both parents still married. I am moving home to be with them for now to help with my son as I save up for my own place. Thank you for the support and encouragement. Adulting is hard LOL but I know its the right thing to do. ❤

I wanted to offer my best wishes for when you start the Accutane. My son suffered horribly with severe cystic acne. Prior to taking him to the dermatologist at age 15-16 we tried probably everything on the market that could be gotten without a prescription. I am pleased to say that he only needed to stay on the medications for about a year. Today he is 21 and has flawless skin. My only regret as his mom is that we didn't start the medications sooner. It probably would have saved him from all the bullying he endured. The only thing he really disliked about the process was the blood work that needed to be done periodically. He also experienced some dryness but compared to the acne it wasn't too bad to cope with. I look forward to hearing how you do and seeing the videos. You are a beautiful young woman and I hope you have an easy time with the treatments. All my love from Long Island NY

My body reacts different to medication and that’s probably to blame for my breakouts. Just wanted to share my experience since not everyone is the same. What do you mean by "fix my body"? What went wrong, if you don't mind me asking ? I'm interested in trying it, but I'm wondering what could go wrong.

Before you start the medication, they get a baseline of all your "normal" labs. All of my labs were within normal limits. This includes my liver function labs, my hemoglobin, and my complete blood count. After the first few weeks on the medication, I became very ill feeling (like I was coming down with something.) I let this go on for a week, and then contacted my dermatologist to see if this could be a side effect. They decided to repeat my labs, and they all came back terrible. She had me stop the medication and follow up with my doctor. I had every test you could imagine (very expensive tests) and other than my liver and spleen being enlarged (because of the medication), I was a healthy 24yr old. Many sonograms and blood draws later, my spleen, liver, and blood counts are normal again. It was all very scary and expensive. They classified it as an "adverse reaction" and something that would kill me if I took it for the whole 6-9 months.

I use this with the smash box photo finish pore minimising primer and set with RCMA powder and it doesn’t budge! I’m not oily exactly but I sweat a lot (attractive right?). My mum has dry skin and uses it the same as me and she’s in love because it doesn’t settle into her lines; its bizarre how differently foundations can wear on certain people.

Another bad sweater here! I definitely don’t “glisten” or “sparkle” - I sweat. Thankfully with a good primer & powder, this is one foundation I don’t have any trouble with!
