the new owners of jagex want to speed up the game for osrs players so they can get more people playing and crank up those membership numbers before they sell the game off to another buyer.

This update is great. Now I can level skill way faster ! People that’s complaining can suck it. All because you suffer doesn’t mean we have to suffer .

It's not that much faster. It's like 20 hours faster only, or some shit like that. You're still spending well over 200+ hours on these pointless skills that shouldn't take you longer than 72 hours to do.

@@AmnesiaHydro There are good grinds, and there are pointless grinds. RS is a pointless grind because you're grinding for 0 payoff. The grind is artificially forced through each grind being slapped into content in a random and half-assed way. RS's grind is basically, "Oh, you want to unlock this one thing that gives you 5% more efficiency in all content that's 100% necessary? Yeah, have fun spending 100+ hours grinding out each requirement for it even though 90% of what you just grinded you won't interact with it in any way ever again until you need to push for the next tier that is a 200+ hour grind that only unlocks a prerequisite for the next major unlock that's a 400+ hour grind that does basically fuck-all for you but is also 100% necessary. Why is the game intentionally designed in such a shitty way? Why? Why is because fuck you don't question it. That's why."

who cares. they inadvertently killed the game when they released the stupidity of ironman mode, causing most players to want to play single player and countering the entire point of an MMORPG. Such a short sighted feature. And instead of making a half decent pvp mode (you know, the thing that revived 07 scape in the first place), they want to make killing PVMers/bots the pinnacle of PVP. These mods should never work in gaming again tbh.

They were if RS expects to keep their players and earn new ones. OSRS players are getting old and have less time to play, most players consists of old 2000's players, rarely new younger players because it's not their type of games, they rather play other easier F2P games.

I am genuinely curious, why is it that changes to the game that make it less time-consuming to buff your account or future accounts are seen as a bad thing ? If a little bit of the grind was taken out or more options are given, player retention is higher. So is recruitment of new players. Additions to the game and QoL changes are generally a good thing that keep it alive with people playing... So again, why is it seen as a negative?? I'm not asking to insult you, I have played since devious mud. I am intrigued by psychology, so again, genuine ask.

@@hazsneax You've seriously played since devious mud? That's awesome if it's true. I understand the game needs to stay fresh but don't you think they're just continuing with the power creep too much? I mean just compare 2004 skilling to today. MUCH more grindy and very few good afk methods. Today you can do something like shooting stars which is EXTREMELY AFK for 35K XP an hour. That is awesome XP for essentially not playing the game. How is it fair that someone power-mining iron, which is like 100x the clicks per hour if not more, gets only double that? What happened to runecraft and agility being grindy skills? They're only making them easier and easier to level. Why don't they add more high intensity skilling methods with steep skill caps like hallowed sepulchre? Hallowed sepulchre takes time to master and requires 100% attention. All that and it's still capped at like 100k agility xp/hr. No, instead we make shooting stars even more afk, motherlode mine more afk, more xp to current agility methods that haven't changed, etc. More and more of the reward is being taking away from the players who are actually playing the game as the gap between AFK skill XP/hr and skilling requiring attention keeps decreasing. Just wait, soon there will be AFK methods for agility and construction. These updates don't bring anything new but rather just devalue everybody's achievements.

Especially something like agility. No reason at all to buff it apart from make it easyscape for players that cbf grinding. Blast mine is one example where it's alright because it's high attention and makes it less dead but the rest is seriously just taking the grind out of the game and pushing us closer to EOC
