Lighting is incredible. And I like the fact that no one is underrated on either side. Chaos Berserker is practically unstoppable, Death Korps are relentless, Dark Angels are indomitable.

I love how well Sodaz brings across the nonchalant attitude that Kriegsmen have towards death. They're practically eager to die in combat. Also; at the end of the video, the Kriegsmen are already in formation and marching towards their next battle. No need to rest or anything. Glorious. :)

holy crud! this one takes was awesome. SODAZ outdid himself with this short film. and taking into consideration the backstory of the death korps of Krieg, that almost fanatical/suicidal and fearless attitude of the korps is practically spot on. edit: Valrak the Death Korps practically nuked their entire world to purge the half of the planet that was rebelling. they literally turned their planet to a radioactive wasteland to preserve the rule off the Emprium of man. so the Gas masks are part of their culture and standard uniform. (also the horses needed them in Krieg... so standard equipment) also they still believe they still think they have to atone for the rebellion, so they are going to charge, HARD at anything and sacrifice anything for a victory.

Ngl i love the way the World Eater IMMEDIATLY locks eyes with the DA marine as he's mid-charge through the wall. Like the only thought that hits the man is "Worthy opponent." And practicaly shifts momentum into him loke a tron cycle.

In the real life military, there's shovels known as E-Tools, they're collapsible shovels with a bladed edge designed for digging, emergency melee combat, and whatever else.

So hear me out even more: -Chapter Master Valrak, Baldermort, ABORDER PRINCE, Lueton09, Midwinter Minis, and Majorakill does the voice acting. Also of course they’ll also have contributions to the story boards. As for the faction: -Mainly an Imperial guard movie -Space marine as a supporting group -2 kinds of xenos we haven’t seen before -1 kind of Chaos army fans would love to see (voting poll) Everyone’s pitches in an idea of a story for the fans. This came from me, Joshua Adon. FOR THE FANS! FOR THE EMPEROR!!

Fun fact: In Only War, Death Korps' shovels count as mono-edged axe. You can see how the Imperial war machine work in unison and that not all Chaos units are pants on head crazy. The music you were hearing was the Death of Typhon from Dawn of War: Retribution.

Hello Valrak. The animator did the Death Corps of Krieg proud with this one. The lore on the Death World of Krieg is extensive, denoting thousands of years of trench warfare. So, the Krieg are specialists at it, and in this video it is displayed with loving attention to detail. If I remember the lore correctly, the Krieg only remove their gas masks in sanctified, protected bunkers, and even then only to eat. Every living thing on the surface of Krieg must wear a gas mask to survive. And, it don't hurt that such a 'faceless', remorseless soldier is terrifying to behold. Keep reacting my friend, and keep finding these nuggets of 40K gold for us all. spoken Frank-ly

Having no lighting or motion blur and with blocking, the scene looked like an anime.

I think the best part of the animation is the power scale between guard and marines. The berzerker coming like a train really nailed it

The craziest thing that Krieger with grenade did is running full speed with balls that big. Not to mention it made out of adamantium.

Steel legion, Death Korps, Cadian... Doesn't matter what regiment it's based on, it's great to see some love for our brave average Guardsman. (something GW should plan to do as well... cough, cough)

I dunno about hearing the heartbeats, but don't the marines have cameras for mad advanced telemetry (or whatever its called) in the helmets eye sockets? So even in pitch black, they'd be able to see the heat signatures of the ambush if nothing else. Also really love that stalker bolter, I didn't even know it was a thing til I had played space marine. ALSO also...am I just imagining it, or can you hear the attack order whistle at around <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="208">3:28</a>? xD

You really get a feel for how unsettling the Death Korps troops are even for other Imperial Guard regiments in this animation, with their total disregard for their own lives making them seem almost inhuman. They seamless way they work alongside the Astartes only reinforces that impression. And as for the Astartes, you certainly get a sense for how tough they are. Even the one who takes an anti-armour projectile through the chest is still alive, and the other one shrugs off heavy machine gun fire and other projectiles without even breaking stride, only going down when attacked by the Traitor Marine, and then his little Krieg buddies are there to die for the Emperor while taking the traitor down. I like to imagine that such courage would make an impression on both Astartes, and they would go on to wear Krieg symbols amongst their other battle honours to remember the bravery of the warriors of Krieg and their uncompromising devotion to the Emperor.

That guardsmen pulled out his grenade before the bayonet charge order. He calculated and knew how the traitor would be egotistical and assume they were easy kills. Kinda hard to get easy kills when the last guy blows your brains back into the warp with express delivery.

Going in to close combat with a khorn berserker as mere human.... the emperor would be proud

I know the shovel has become a Krieg meme, but in WW1 sharpened entrenching tools were very good as one-handed axes. I've read accounts or British soldiers sharpening the edge of their helmets and making a "handle" inside it to use as a parry & slash weapon. The US troops made a simple shank with a spiked handle guard so they could stab and punch with little spikes. The Germans made their grenades with spikes to be used as a mace. I love the Krieg grenade. A similar design to the German anti-tank "glue 5 bombs together and see what happens" grenade!
