So in this review I go over the SB-GO alittle more in depth. We go over the sound of the GO vs the SB3 alittle bit. This speaker isnt too bad in my opinion. One thing it is, is loud. In my next video, I will go over the audio specifically.
Between two songs I will play them with a 3.5mm jack and then through Bluetooth so you guys could hear the differences. I appreciate you watching and maybe I'll see you in the next video. I know this speaker has been long waited for for many and everyone has been waiting to hear how this thing sound. As this is no Bose speaker, but more of a stadium sound 'ish' speaker.
If you want loud, this speaker will give you loud. Although it has a BASS+ mode, BASS+ is only a Bass mode to a soundboks speaker. If you want alot of Bass, this isn't the speaker for you. This speaker IS a speaker that could go very well as a mid/high speaker in a series of speakers that would compliment a subwoofer.

Hey guys I’ve recently purchased the sounboks go and am not disappointed it gets loud for its size and I’ve found a way to make the lower bass hit a little harder (which I found it sort of lacked especially when I played techno and deep house music) this is not a full proof method and unfortunately won’t work for people that don’t use Spotify,. If you do use Spotify however go to playback settings and select equalizer this will allow you to lift up the bass in the song and the speaker will begin to perform as it should with deep rumbly bass !

I dont want to be or give you any bad advice here but if you have discipline i would give you an idea. If you go to Amazon or Soundboks website itself (I personally lie to order things from the Manufacturer themself because often you get free cool stuff). Now to back up alittle bit, if you wait till a holiday, Soundboks as a company will offer extra batteries if you order a soundboks speaker within a time period of a holiday. now to fast forward.... If i dont have the money up front or dont want to spend the money upfront to buy something i would use "AFFIRM" as the payment when i check out. Soundboks has AFFIRM as a payment option. This is basically a finance company that will give you a max value with a payment plan (Sorta like a digital credit card) but with a fixed rate "and interest". Their payment system via app is super easy. They do report your payoffs, so thats a good thing for your credit. Ive used affirm many times and i actually recommend it. I think right now as i type this, affirm has the lowest payment for 6months at $91 a month for the SG-GO. After you pay it off, they increse your buying power. Soundboks at the moment is offering 50%off any accessory from; - backpack (will only work with the sb3) - tripod - powerbank - microphone - cable bundle - extra black grill AFFIRM could also be used on amazon. But me personally i would order this through soundboks because their deal is alittle better with the 50%off an accessory. If you dont need any accessories and dont want to wait till a holiday, then get it on Amazon. ALL MY OPINION do what you will. 😎

How is the sound quality compared to the soundboks 3? Also is the max volume on the go comparable to the 3? My friend has a 3 and I love it. Thinking of getting a go.
@Jonasegway

See that's the video I will continue editing later tonight. In their loudest settings, the soundboks 3 was giving me 4-5db more then the SB-GO. That goes for plugged in via a high quality directional 3.5mm plug or Bluetooth. The SB3 has a more "room filling" sound that you can hear in the brief sound sample I have in this video. As far as the volume's being comparable. Well that will depend on you. Is 4-5db comparable to you? But the way. 110db seem's to be the max db (and that's peak) with the SB-GO and that's playing a song with a 256kbs audio file with a direct connection via 3.5mjack. The SB-GO has been able to sustain 102-105db atax volume whether connected via Bluetooth or cable. *All of the dh readings in any of my videos will be from 1m which is the industry standard distance* If you don't necessarily.care about the size you care more about which of the two gives better sound in general and is louder, the SB3 is going to be your guy. And if you are going to consider a sb3, I would insist you give the diamondboxx M3 or their L3 a look at both of those are very comparable. I haven't gotten a diamondboxx because I prefer the ruggedness to audio quality of the soundbok's alittle more.

I appreciate the thorough answers to the questions so far as I am considering a Go. Have you heard a turtlebox before? I have 2 and sound quality is not great, but they get quite loud. Definitely sound good enough outdoors. I’m wondering if this is comparable. Just for context I also have an SB2. Returned my SB3 because the upper bass was distracting to my ears. Second question, have you played this at a gathering before? I feel like if you are using speakers like this outdoors for gatherings, sound quality becomes much less of an issue. You just want to make sure the sound profile “cuts through the noise” as soundboks says.

I apologize greatly for not holding up to my word and answer your question that hr after I said I would. As far as the turtlebox 2's I've never heard them before but I've ever spoken to three people who had owned turtleboxes. The two guys who actually owned a turtle box and then ordered the SB-GO returned their SB-GOs because they said for the money the turtle box was only a littleless good as far as sound quality goes and they didn't see the value of the extra money for the SB-GO vs the price of the Turtlebox 2. One of the guys claimed himself to be more of an audiophile type of guy and he said that the SB-GO overall is louder and sounds better than the turtlebox 2, however he also said that if he already owned a turtle box and he were to listen to a SB-GO like as a demo he would not buy the SB-GO in trade of his turtle box 2. He said he sold his turtle box and got the SB-GO because the SB-GO was good enough for him to want to have a soundboks ecosystem. He also has a SB2 a SB3 and now the SB-GO Iits funny you asked about if I've used it in an outdoor party setting yet and I have. This past weekend I used my sb3 and SB-GO outdoors. My party was of around 80 to 100 people. Ive placed my sb3 on the ground and the SB-GO )on a tripod spread about 30ft apart and they did great. Almost no bass was present, but soundboks dont advertise them to have bass of any sort. Surely they have a Bass+ mode but that might be useful at lower volumes. Now I connected my sb3 and GO via SKAA connection and with both having fully charged batteries, music being played via Bluetooth off an iphone and volume on 11, I think they lasted just under 6hrs. It was funny because they both kinda went dead at the same exact time. I was told they sounded very good together as a pair and I agree. They were plenty loud and gave clear audio. These soundboks's remind me of portable loudspeakers just going off the way they sound

@@Jonasegway thanks for the response! And wow that’s sounds like a DJ set or at least a dance party at volume 11 😮. I actually was at a pool party this past weekend that had around 30 people and I took my JBL partybox 710 and 110 and had them connected wirelessly also about 30 ft apart. This was not really a dancing gathering though so they were playing closer to 40% volume. At that level even w bass boost off, the 710 has too much bass (I can’t believe I’m saying that because it’s really nice deep bass). That being said, prob need to get it to around 75% to get that bass roll off to even the sound out. I think my SB2 has probably the perfect amount of bass for moderate volumes. But yea I have 5 SKAA receiver/transmitters and I do imagine how sweet it would be to have a couple soundboks Gos and then hook up the other SKAA receivers to my SB2 and JBLs.
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 2 жыл бұрын
@@steve31785 you are welcome. I must say, after the sb's batteries died, we used a JBL Eion (I think that's how it's spelled without me googling it) and I must say it carried the rest of the party singlehandedly. It didn't get as loud but clear as the two soundboks together, but it did give off a better bassy sound and sounded more "filling" if that makes sense. Like it was able to hit more frequencies then the two soundboks. The soundboks literally gave the area more of a "stadium sound" where people can listen to music from a sound source that doesnt sound "annoying" due to too much of any area of frequencies. They just sound off loud and clear but the JBL had more of a rhythmic sound if that makes sense. Soundboks sounded loud and sorta flat but a good flat.

I have a sb2 and I'm looking to upgrade. I kind of like the size aspect of the Go. My big thing is does the volume hold up when compared to the 3? Fill up a locker room with thumping music like sb2? I don't need volume to carry across a field or anything, just be bumping loud outside within say 20 yards. Also, I've heard complaints about audio quality, any merit?
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 2 жыл бұрын
OK get your popcorn lol. If you are looking for an upgrade, i would tell you to comfortably get the SB3. The SB-GO will definitely give 20yrds good sound. I literally was supposed to upload the actual audio test done with an audio recorder so with headphones you could actually hear the audio but i cannot find the device containing the video footage part of that video to save my life. I just got home and just tore it up looking for that camera. So to answer your question as honest as possible to my upmost recommendation i would tell you if the Audio quality is something you care deeply about and you want to stick to the soundboks brand, i would recommend the sb3 orr another sb2. The SB-GO is definitely the least loudest an has the lowest audio quality of all of them. However it is still loud. Doing a real word test (results from that video i cant find) the SB-GO was always 5-6db lower then the SB3. It always maintains over 102db and peaks at 113db but would sustain 103-104db OR MORE depending on the music you play and the audio quality of the music. Levels are like 2-3db higher then that with the SB-GO when you use an actual directional audio cable which is what i used. If you just want something new but still loud, i would say get the GO. The strap is a very high quality nice addition to the GO. When it is paired with another soundboks speaker no matter which speaker, it sounds very very good. Guys hunting fo Turkey said they were out about 150yrds from where i was in this video and they heard my elton john song playing clear as day. They came from behind where the speaker was facing and it was windy out as you can see in this video. So thats sorta a testament on how loud it is. *P.S.* It will be louder with you custom setting your own EQ settings. Out of curiosity when i selected my own custom EQ settings, i got about 2db more on the high side. I think to pair this with your SB2, youd have to get an SKAA device which will allow them to synch up easily. www.skaastore.com/products/al-sr-v2-wet-sounds-a-link-plus-kit Expensive, but it allows you to synch up to 3 devices the way the SB3 and SB-GO link up automatically. This thing has something going on that others dont. Its rugged as hell, its loud as hell, sound quailty isnt what Soundboks advertise it as having. They said it gives you stadium levels of sound and during the pink noise test it does which means theorhetically this speaker is sorta a stadium speaker in its output levels. It doesnt distort but still sound good for something that get so loud without being compromised. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I wish i lived near you (Live in kansas) so i could let you hear both the SB3 and the GO. I know what its like to want to buy something but want to test it out first but cant because of a lack of availability.

@@mattmiller2761 yessss. I think the SB-GO completes my portable Bluetooth speaker collection. I am also very happy for th3m keeping the battery design. None of these speakers went over 120db in my real world testing but they were sorta consistent. The SB-GO did maintain 2-3db lower output wired vs Bluetooth and 4-5db lower then the sb3 under all conditions. It was very interesting listening to them. I just can't wait to pull the audio files off my pre-amp to listen to the quality difference even though 6ou could kinda hear it in this video. I never really used my sb3 often because of it's size. The SB-GO might fill in a void. Now I could strap it around my shoulder and take it on scooter rides. It will almost completely replace my sb3.and mostly replace my little bumpboxx pager. The good thing about soundboks speakers are their lengthy warranty terms and you'll know if someone really don't like it. If they didn't, they'd send it back. Hell...they could use it for 100days and 2alk away from it after. Can't relally beat that

Thanks for your support! You know....sometimes it's hard making a review on three types of products (accurately) because in the grand scheme of things we all have different ears and different frequencies which we are attracted to. Despite all efforts and all monies spent on equipment to bring the actual sound to your ears via KZfaq there will still be sound alteration due to compression and such. So I can sit here and tell you guys the SBGO sounds great but my ears might not be as trained as yours. It may sound lacking to you if you are more engaged in sound quality and audio in general. Of all the speakers you've mentioned, I've heard the S1 before In person and my opinion says the SB3 sounds better and more "filling" of airspace then the S1 but I like the sound of the S1 better on smaller spaces. I would probably even pick the S1 for sound quality over the SB-GO in smaller spaces. My best way to describe Soundboks speakers is if you just want a portable Bluetooth loudspeaker that doesn't really distort even at max volume. You have to come at it not expecting it to be some sort of BASSY speaker. They weren't designed to give off a lot of bass.....just be loud with no distortion. If that's the type of speaker you expect of it, I think you'll be good money to buy either.

@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 2 жыл бұрын
That scooter is a Dualtron Victor. I have a few videos on it on my channel. As far as the SB-GO goes it's targeted to certain people. You have to be that type of person who wants "concert levels" of audio. NOT quality levels of audio. Often users who are a fan of either will get caught up on the wording and buy a speaker that wasn't designed for them. This SB-GO and really any soundbols in my personal opinion are designed to be loud and deliver clear audio while being loud. Soundboks speakers aren't hifi speakers so they won't have the audio QUALITY like a Boae S1 Pro or evenol3 a diamondboxx M3. To sum it up, If you want a still loud portable speaker but quality is alittle of a higher importance, go with the Boase SO Pro. If you still want some quality (just not Bose quality but still not too far off) but want the speaker to be pretty loud In the process, get the SB-GO.........while still keeping the diamondboxx M3 as an option

Yes very true@ the bass is alot weaker on the GO. It's supposed to be weaker though. It's a smaller speaker designed to fit a certain demographic of listeners. It's supposed to not sound as full as the SB3. HOWEVER....I will say $750 with a strap is alot of money. I don't see the prices ever going down from here. If anything...in due time the price may just be $650 and will come with the strap automatically (which would be your discount vs paying an extra $50 for the strap which btw...the strap is of a very high quality

@@Jonasegway - cant you compensate a lot with the app eq feature. Set the settings after you personal preference and Music style. Presettings are ofren shit…🤔
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir you absolutely can set the eq. 100days is a while. I've recommended another SB-GO buyer to keep it longer unless they feel they really need to return it. This speaker could be updated via app. So hope within that 100days will get in the studio and start working on remapping the SB-GO sound profile to accommodate and address the typical (distortion) complaints and put it out in at least 2 updates within the first 100days. Nowa days there is a major trend that's out called "the I want it right now and easy" trend. This means despite having an EQ option, people want it to sound very good out of the box without having to make a custom sound profile. I like to be fair about how I review products. With any company I only expect it to do what it is advertised to do. I think that's all people can really expect it to do. Context is everything. They said the following: - rugged (I agree) - concert level sound (I agree but only when it peaks and it seems to offer concert level sound during pink noise tests - 10hrs of playtime at max volume depending on the bass frequencies of music (I agree. It played in my car during it's break-in period for 14hrs *volume 8* in BASS+ mode and still had 3 solid bars left after all of that) - dent and splash proof (I definitely showed that in my video) They never said it was going to sound comparable to a Soundboks 3, never said it has powerful bass or will give us BOSE level audio quality. This is basically a Bluetooth portable PA speaker. That's kinda what soundboks have always been and I see alot of people expecting their soundboks speaker to sound like a speaker it wasn't designed (nor advertised) to be. I paid $840 for my GO with the strap after tax and if I were to sample it before actually buying it and someone asked me would I buy it for that price, I would say no. I am keeping it because I anticipated waiting on this speaker for a while and all of that would have been in vain if I just send it back. Also.....I like the soundbok's eco system, I love how rugged it is, it DOES sound great with my sb3 and I take it with me in my semi. I used to take the SB3 in the backpack on scooter rides but now I could just strap the GO over my shoulder and just ride out. I am a conservative listener so I don't often go to 11 lol. But yea I'm probably going to keep mine and see what kind of potential Soundboks will unlock with this GO

It does not come with a strap. Ever Soo often soundboks will run a special where they would include a strap but at the moment it sells separately for an extra $60 US

@bboymac84 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jonasegway no worries, there’s a big difference in SKAA and SKAA pro!! SKAA pro has very low latency for DJs and live beat makers and music performers. But you can only use 2 speakers in pro. Regular SKAA you can do many speakers but the latency sux!
@Jonasegway
@Jonasegway 2 жыл бұрын
@@bboymac84 ahhhhhhhhh ok ok. Nah these are SKAA only. They are designed to wirelessly link up to as many SKAA speakers as possible. However. I've never heard anyone complain about the latency of soundboks speakers as a brand. This "GO" Has the same internals as it's big sister the Soundbok's 3 which is seemingly a popular speaker used for DJ'ing. I wouldn't use the GO as a speaker while DJ'ing anyway. It gets loud but it doesn't give you that "filling" sound as a standalone. If paired up with a second SB-GO, you might be in business. I would use this as a personal speaker amongst friends at a small backyard function or as an "add-on" to another speaker

@@zonloe3268 well in the soundboks Facebook group I've only ever seen two people who've owned both the new SBGO and the turtlebox 2's and said the SBGO sounds better and is louder but still doesn't justify the price difference. Both said they would keep the use the SBGO more often because it does sound better and is barely noticeably louder but is louder then the turtlebox 2. One of the guys told me the turtleboks is what he would get with ok it hesitation if money spent mattered

@@zonloe3268 I will suggest allowing what you see as only a guideline. If you are an audiophile, this product isn't for you as soundboks dont advertise to be a high quality sounding product but a clear and loud for parties product. I will say the same goes for the SBGO. They don't put out heavy BASS nor does soundboks say they do or will. They have a BASS mode, but that's just to give you 'a-little' more bass then any other mode. You can setup a custom EQ settings but don't expect it to perform magic. This is a reality I think alot of users forget or simply don't know. So I usually like to make it my business to give you that disclaimer. I purchased my soundboks only expecting them to be loud and clear. I only expected the 40hr battery life with the volume on the speaker set to 5bars like they advertised and that's what it does. They are sorta durable and they just work. At least mine does. And just so you know, buying directly dr soundboks guarantees you a brand new unit that hasn't been returned. Purchasing it from Amazon is usually alittle cheaper but those units are returned units and have been repackaged and resold on Amazon. (Those words came from an actual soundboks rep) so bear all of those things in mind. I haven't had any issues with app support nor my speakers. Before I do any updates, I make sure I am by a reliable wifi/internet source and I let it finish doing what it does. Follow the prompts and you should be ok. I have been ok for as long as I've had ownership. As long as you follow protocols you should be just fine.

Do you have one? I don't think it sounds too bad. I don't use any of the preset settings either. I don't know if you have one and if you've played with the custom EQ settings but you can kinda tweak it alittle to get closer to that sound you are looking for

Yesssss. I've connected my rode wireless Go II to it and it worked (but I had to keep the db setting at -12db or higher (-12db, -18db, -21db, -24db works with -12db being the best). This goes the same for the Soundboks 3 just incase that matters to you.

Speakers always sound better up in the air because while lower bass spreads easily, higher treble frequencies do not. By placing the speaker up in the air, you are putting the tweeter level with your ears, whereas if it's on the ground, higher treble frequencies don't travel to your ears as easily, so you lose the treble when it's on the ground

I understand. It's all about what sound you are going for. These speakers are advertised as loudspeakers that can play loud and for a good length of time while being durable and wireless. Other speakers will suit the 'sound profile' you are looking for better with different pros and cons. Best way to tell with anything when it comes to audio especially is to hear them in person. If you can't, you gotta do what you gotta do. I just hope you are happy with whatever purchase you decide on. I know I am

It should! It's the better equipped tool when it comes to being loud. The SB-GO is very good if you need a more portable SB3. There are more portable speakers obviously but the SB-GO is pretty premium made speaker. Suprisingly I still have It even though I haven't used it since this video 👀
