New Spatial Persona on Apple Vision Pro is MUCH Better!

As of this week, Vision Pro users can set up a spatial Persona, which is a new version of a Persona that's designed to make it feel like you're interfacing with other people right in the same room. We thought we'd test out the spatial Persona feature to see how it works and whether it's an improvement over the regular Persona option.

I’ve tried this on my AVP and it blows me away. Three of us sat on the couch and watched a movie together on Apple TV+. (To answer questions in advance: All three of us had Vision Pros, all three of us had our own subscription to Apple TV+, all of us were sitting on our respective couches in our own real space, but in spatial personas it seemed like we were sitting next to each other on the same couch at my home.)

I would love to see each user be able to upload from their own respective accounts into the shared freeform app. I would also like to see the ability for users place objects in a shared space from their own accounts or a shared resource. Also I would love to see others be able to join like ipad or iphone users in sharing experiences as well. Like does the limit of 5 users apply to freeform which can also have its own users.

Actually, that can all be done right now on AVP in the app called InSpaze. It is glitchy right now, so that’s probably why Apple isn’t pushing it so hard yet, but when they get all the glitches out, and they add spatial personas it will be even better than it already is right now.

There are other videos out showing more of the capability. Users can indeed place digital objects. I saw one where a two people were looking at the object and both could manipulate it; move it around, change its size etc. it makes collaboration a lot more tangible

@@Tonabillity I also know that companies conduct market research studies prior to launching goods or services. I find it hard to believe that Apple didn’t get feedback from said studies of people telling them the old personas looked uncanny.

Agreed! Except that companies still insist on forcing people to go back to the office “or else”. I get it for jobs that require presence but for office work where people are just connecting with someone else around the world on teams and slack? Give me a break… the truckers, food deliveries, postman, etc etc would greatly appreciate the halved traffic too.

Just say you have a scarcity mindset but $3500 is nothing. What can $3500 give you in this economy? I rather spend my money on the Vision Pro then to spend it on rent, insurance, and other useless stuff that that have no resale value. You have a scarcity mindset. I will always make money as long as I am alive. I will always buy stuffs that I like and can afford. I spend $3500 and I get it back in 2 weeks.

If you look at my post, I said it was a turd for the money. For $3500 it is subpar equipment. It’s not I don’t have the money or I’m cheap. The value is not there for $3500. Apple is laughing all the way to the bank just like when they charge $200 for another 8 GB of ram.
