Completely agree. They can renovate it, fix the leaks, add another stand and all that good stuff, but please don't make it into a shiny round boring metal. Those trusses are iconic. It's so charming and full of character, the brick work. Please keep it as is but just renovate it.

Old Trafford is hallowed ground. You can't move away from it or completely modify it. It's our spiritual home like you said and we would loose so much more than we would gain.

I get the sentiment esp from older fans. Im 26 myself and have been supporting the club since i was literally 7/8. But the reality is harsh. We cant expect Old Trafford to stand forever. We can renovate it all we want but it will cost more and more just to maintain it esp when it comes to safety. The best option if we wanna go to the “Sentimental” route is to modernise it inside, everything while keeping the “old” exterior look and layout.

They can do what they did at Bernabeu. Modernize the roof, expand the bobby Charlton stand, replace the gantry, fix the various interior hallways and infrastructure whilst maintaining the sight lines and pitch to stands aesthetic

If Old Trafford gets revamped then it should remain loyal to the area. Metal shiny modern architecture would be terrible for us. We are an industrial club, founded by railway workers and our home ground is on an industrial estate, Trafford Park.We need Something that keeps our working class roots.

Even as a rival i agree. These stadiums have history. I'm glad we stayed at anfield. Eventhough i hate united i wouldn't want them to move. Old trafford is one of our historic battle grounds. Despite my hate, it's called the theatre of dreams for a reason. It's historic.

I don't think it's a "We" question. Even though I'm United for 25 years, I live far in South East Asia. I have no personal connection to the stadium. This question best to be answered by the people who often go to the stadium themselves.

At some point it's gonna need some redoing, but it definitely shouldn't be rebuilt or significantly altered. Maybe some modern features like big lights? Idk.

building a new stadium is the first step towards really losing the soul of the club. If they get state ownership and build a new stadium that's a massive change.

Literally gone for a tour and walked round EVERYWHERE two weeks ago. The outside looks fine. The only problem is the stands where, in the upper levels (I think this was on the east stand), you could literally see the bottom of the upper level stand tilting downwards... and obviously the leakage. Simple renovation is all we need. No need for us to do a Tottenham move.

I feel like if it's built on the same pitch and it's updated and or upgraded that's the best way. No need for a big fancy stadium when we already have one of the biggest and historic stadiums. But again it's the pitch where the history was made not the stands, (mostly).

I agree, even though it may look old, it's still looks better than most stadiums If we are going to modernise the stadium then atleast keep the roof infrastructure. The roof infrastructure the way we have all the metal rods going across is the the part that makes this stadium looks amazing.

We have to have our, where Hojlund played, our where Mainoo played. Our own....Robson days are long gone. We are too stuck then, the game has left us

Old Trafford CAN’T change

Everyone is thinking about this all wrong. Yes Old Trafford is great with lots of history but se need a new stadium. Think of revenue, think of financial fair play we need a modern stadium that can be used for other events a stadium where we can have a flaoting like pitch that can be extracted with another pitch that comes in for other events etc so we have extra sources of income. Honestly we should go for a new stadium theres a bigger picture imo. Love old trafford but its time forma change.

I would personally prefer a new stadium. I know Old Trafford has so much history and is a legendary stadium but you can only do so much to a existing stadium. If we built a fresh stadium from nothing it would be the best in the world by far, especially now in 2023 with how technology has moved on.

If they can buy enough space to build a new stadium they could renovate OT into a museum and hotel maybe even have youth games there. I just know for a fact OT can't be fixed into a stadium that has no issues there's just too many problems with the current stadium

As part of the Arsenal generation that misses Highbury (but recognises why we left)… these decisions are massive for football clubs. When we sing “we’re the north bank” at the Emirates it’s cringy. The real north bank was fkin doolally at times.
