NEW TALARIA WHEELS! - Why has nobody tried this before?!

Hi guys welcome back to the channel! Today I have had some new wheels delivered for my talaria sting!
I haven’t seen anybody try this combination before and it worked out really well! The wheels are from SM pro and are great quality whilst being super strong!
I unbox, show the wheels as well as talk some specs before taking the bike for a ride!

I didn't get a talaria ye been looking the last 2 months but that would be my choice 17 rear an 19 front i though would be perfect i guess ill be waiting for th 24s to come out se if i can get on then also your bike setup seems spot on Good job

I was running 19 x 17 for a while, got a set of x160 wheels cheap so was switching between them, i couldn’t find any decent tyres to fit the skinny rim I had though! Awesome video either way the SM pro stuff is quality

Thank you, I appreciate it! Ive been doing some research and found out that the youth trials bikes have 17” tyres so there are a load tyres for those bikes in 17” - ive found many trail and trials tyres in a 2.75, 3.00, 3.25, 3.50 & 3.75 this week! Its actually a blessing as for summer the trials and trail type tires are just what I want! I believe some of the shinko’s such as 241 and 242 come in 17 at many different widths and profiles😍 Theres also the maxxis maxcross IT which comes in 100/100-17 for more offroad stuff!

I hear ya! Take a look at the MAXXCROSS IT 100/100-17 rear if you ever fancy going back to 17’s, paired with a starcross 5 front or terraforce youll be flying 🤙🏻

I run a 17inch rim as well with the 100/100 - 17 Maxxis IT and it's phenomenal grip wise and comfort wise. I would like to find a slightly narrower and lighter tire tho

I was going to try that option! If you take a look at my instagram @stingyrogerr - youll see i found a narrower lighter option with good summer traction! 👍🏻

I would love to see your KO tune. I have mine pretty down.. I run 19/16 and am loving the tire setup. I would like to know what KW you were running during this.. and what size sprocket?

Hey bro! Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comment - im running 12kw at 185a and 485phase (very specific but it works) . 48t rear sprocket. Keep an eye out it will be in a video soon! 19/16 is a great choice! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I used to run the michelin starcross tires on my moto bikes way back in the day... how do you like them compared to the trackmaster? and what tire are you going to end up putting on the 17?

I really like it! Its good but it doesnt have the lean over angle of the trakmaster, the trakmaster is definitely going to be my go-to when it gets wet and muddy this winter. I think im going to go for a maxxis maxcross IT in 100/100-17 for the new wheel just to give me some more squish and let me run lower pressures! 🤙🏻

You got 19/17 thats a little unusual but not unheard of. Some people have 17s already because of supermoto or theyre x160 wheels and they use one of them and do 17/19 theirs just more tire options for 16in and its whats on dirtbikes 19/16 o it just makes more sense to do that

I did think of this, i actually got a set which is 17/17 but kept my original front wheel on for now - next video ill throw the other 17 on the front too and in the future potentially swap on some supermoto tyres I did look on youtube but could not find anybody running 19/17 offroad or onroad! Yes, you are more limited! But because 17 inch is standard for the 65 cc bikes as well as big wheel pitbikes you can still find a load !

It’s a 17” rear in the video! And no sorry i have 3 sets of wheels but switch between them based on where I’m riding and what the ground is like! Thanks for watching !
