Hello there, Nina. You used such pretty rubbing examples, and your backgrounds turned out great. Petra, who is 3 already, and I have done some rubbings. Tanis still thinks crayons go in the mouth. Have a grand ‘ole week.

Hi Nina, I don't believe it (I sound like Victor Meldrew!!!), I got out all my stencils, papers, crayons etc, 2 weeks ago, and have been meaning to try this technique, to add to journal stash and other crafts, but just haven't gotten round to starting it yet! After watching you today, you've inspired me and given me the incentive to get on with it!! I love your pieces you've achieved, they're beautiful. Your stencils are lovely aren't they, and I never thought about using patterns on wallpaper scraps. The pattern on the card turned out brilliant. Thank you very much for sharing this with us. Brilliant x I remember doing brass rubbings when I was younger of the brasses you find on floors of old churches. I used something called cobblers wax which was black and achieved some amazing rubbings. I will be having a go with my stencils .

My gosh these are amazing,, it took be back to primary school ( thanks for that I feel really old lol) we did rubbings with crayons I also remember using all the colours in random patches, covered the whole thing in Black then scratching a picture , the last set is truly amazing needs to be framed.

I am totally obsessed with this technique and funnily enough I visit an elderly lady who had been having a clear out and found some oil pastels, how lucky was that?! I've nearly used them up. It is just such a cathartic thing to do and the results are great. You're a real gem, Nina. Have a happy Easter. x

I did this by accident on a messy desk in a hurry with a make up brush and it left a very soft impressing in a spot so I continued until the page was covered. Very soft impression, but maybe another way to do this.

@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia I tried with no success. But I didn't make fabric taught. Also I used a sizzix folder thingy. I didn't have a stencil in the cogs and wheels. . My first try. Worked, but not well enough that way. Learning curve. Lol
