I don't agree with that anyways. Old is until 5, not 6. That must be a definition made by younger people from the community. That's a common mindset of a young person. Just like people saying SF4 or MK9 are the old games from their respective franchises.

The people who composed Tekken music in the 90s - from Tekken to Tekken 3 - were of their time and that time was truly golden! They created melodic and eclectic soundtracks that only certain tracks from the later games (like Moonlit Wilderness) could match.

Exactly. Every techno song in the successors was flashy but absolutely heartless. Azazel's theme was pretty good at matching the atmosphere of the stage and character, but it still doesn't come close to Devil's theme and stage in T2.

Fun fact: AJURIKA was a main composer for TK3. And he's been working on almost every Tekken, even up to TK8. His style has evolved so much over the last 25 years. 👌

@@MichaelCHorler Mmm... Good for him but I must say that he really doesn't appeal to me. I hated TTT2's soundtrack and T7's on the whole as well. I really didn't like the couple of tracks of his that I just listened to either. Far, far too much nu-age electronic noise for me.

@@-xlntc91x- Strong disagree. While I still consider T2's OST the apex of the series, there's plenty of bangers especially in T4. T4's OST is better than T3's, IMHO. The newer ones, from T5 onwards, are more bland overall but there's the occasional great song like Karma/Electric Fountain or Azure Infinite themes. Also the TTT opening theme (especially the TTT2 version).

The old stage themes really fit the stages' atmosphere and the characters they belonged to. It might be a bit of nostalgia, but for me, nothing comes close to T2 and T3 soundtrack as a whole because they capture the specific game's vibe perfectly.

Yeah, and it's relatively unique music too, can't forget that important fact. Tekken 4 was a very special soundtrack all on it's own. Tekken 5 was ALSO very special on it's own, and hasn't had anything even remotely similar to it's music tracks in a game after, as is the case for Tekken 6. It's actually extremely amazing as it is impressive.,

@@Heartshapedbox81 you didn't know about that? You can either pick each Tekken game soundtrack for all the stages and sections in Tekken 7. Or you pick all the soundtracks over the years together. Or you can customize the music for each stage creating your customized soundtrack as a whole. It's pretty deep and immersive. Though not hard to do.

I’ve recently become a Tekken fanatic. I’ve played a couple Tekkens before, but when I played 8 for the first time, everything clicked with me. That being said, I’ve been listening to Tekken music non-stop, and have come to the conclusion that 5 has the best soundtrack. Banger after banger.

Tekken 3 OST - just the best. I hear any song - and my hands starts trembling and eyes cover with tears - but my lips go to smile... I remember!! That was awesome.
