I loved watching this. What size is the coil for the booster cards? Did you laminate the cards?

It's a 13mm coil and yes, I laminated them. :)

I used the old version with my oldest and it eventually stopped working for us. I switched to abeka phonics and it seemed to help alot. This new version of tgatb looks so tempting though. My second child is starting Kindergarten this year and it's so hard to decide! How would you compare the new version to abeka phonics?

I would say Abeka probably has a more rigorous phonics program but that TGTB is still excellent and has a more gentle and fun approach.

How would you compare the quality of the new Level K to AAR Level 1? Do you feel in thorough like AAR? I'm deciding which to start for my soon to be Kindergartener. Thank you for the video!

They're both very thorough programs but they do teach differently. :)

Thanks for doing this. I've been going back and forth if I should buy it or not. My 6 year olds concentration is not super long. How long does it take to finish a lesson?

I would say 15-20 minutes all up, but you can split it up so that you do the booster cards at a different time.

If you could only choose one reading curriculum (not regarding cost as a factor) which would you be more likely to recommend, The Good and the Beautiful level K or All About Reading level 1?

I would likely choose AAR as it caters for basically every learning style.

It really depends on your child. You could definitely use Abeka as a supplement.

I love seeing her personality in comparison to your son’s, she seems very outgoing and funny ❤️❤️ and random but is her accent slightly different from yours or is that just her child voice that’s throwing me off 😂

She is definitely outgoing. :) Annie wears her heart on her sleeve and is our little fountain of joy. Her accent probably is a bit different and she's working on saying "sh" and "th" blends correctly. :)

I decided that using both TGTB & AAR would be too much for my child, & honestly too much for me. We were using the old TGTB level K, & I gave up on it fourth of the way through. My 5yr old’s reading is not up to this level, sooo I’m using AAR level 1. I’ve decided to only focus on AAR level 1, then once we’ve completed that, we’ll be using the new TGTB level K. By then my child’s reading should have improved & we can finish up the old TGTB level K, don’t wanna waste it.

Do the booster books also come with the free download or did you buy it separately?

You can download for free. Print booklet double-sided. The pages may seem out if order but once you cut just out in correct order. You can also print the mini books but I haven't figured out how to double-side print those
