People don’t understand it’s hard to compete in the market for anything much less Chinese competition. Our government over taxes and over regulates our businesses out of business. I’m wanting a thermal but trying to hold out for something that is not Chinese but it’s difficult because of price. I commend you for holding out this long. Thx

Been looking at the rix. Didnt know about the clarion. Ill have to check that one out.
@LoneStarBoars4 ай бұрын
After using them both the RIX moves the screen closer to your eye. The clarion actually switches between a 35 and 60 mm lens. Clarion pro: is no loss in resolution. Con: blury between 35-60mm RIX pro: stays clear when zooming all the way through. Con: just basically zooms on the screen so there is some pixelation but not like digital zoom.

I would love if there was an american made, affrodable and innovative brand of night vision and thermal. But there isn't. If a company like PSA could step up and give us affordable and american made by sacrificing their crazy profit margins i would be in love. But for now, chinese is the only way to get good tech at a good price. Sadly.
@LoneStarBoars4 ай бұрын
No American companies are making crazy profit margins. They do not have cheap labor, they have to design and innovate which cost money. China is good at making clones. Right now there isn’t anyone enforcing the laws to protect the non Chinese manufacturers. So they will remain cheap, and we will sell them. Chinese products will continue to sell and improve.

@@LoneStarBoars i feel like a lot of american "tactical" companies slap on hefty charges on things just because they sell to the government. They have lost touch with actual innovation and competition because they are so focused on the next big contract. Doesn't matter if it's radios going for $20k, ir-lasers going for $4k, Thermals going for $8k or bino tubes going for $8k. American made does stand for quality - but also a big F you upcharge because they can.

Guess we will agree to disagree. Again the American and European companies spend a ton in research and development, only to be ripped off. But the current people in charge have no problems with this so here we are.
@mattcomchoc29574 ай бұрын
as long as you aren't hiding the fact that it's chinese, and you say the quality has come far enough that you feel like you can offer it and back the products, i think most of your long time followers will understand the cost/benefit proposition and make the choice that's right for them. you can't deny a lot of chinese manufacturers are innovating in spaces where the old companies are not. sometimes these new features (finally optical zoom on a thermal!!) may outweigh the quality advantage of an established name. that's why John Lovell has a Holosun optic on top of his WPS pistol instead of a Trijicon/Aimpoint/Leupold, and why I have an Olight Valkyrie on my EDC G19 instead of a Surefire (it's small footprint allows for a smaller holster and their little magnetic charging puck is way better than anything else i've used).

I thought AGM was an American brand?
@LoneStarBoars4 ай бұрын
No
@AGMusa4 ай бұрын
We are. We manufacture all of our Gen 3 night vision in the United States and all of our sales, marketing, operations, customer service and product development are based in the United States. The only thing that doesnt occur in the United States is thermal production. That was solely based in China but most of our new items are coming from a new facility in Vietnam. We opened a facility in Bulgaria a few years ago to run most of our European operations (sales & marketing, operations, customer service). We're hoping to begin manufacturing some new thermal units here in the U.S. as well before the end of this year.

@@AGMusa appreciate the clarification. if quality is the same, i'd take vietnamese over chinese any day. hopefully you don't make this info hard to find in product descriptions and packaging.
@AGMusa4 ай бұрын
@@mattcomchoc2957 Products have to be marked where they are manufactured or imported from. But no brand that i'm aware of includes this in standard product descriptions. This is typically marked or stickered on the boxes or units themselves.

@@LoneStarBoars I blame Biden and inflation. It’s hard for a lot of people to pay the premium price for American products. It’s a slippery slope too. When American companies start losing market share they will lower the quality and price. They will also ship jobs overseas.

@@LoneStarBoarsImagine how things would have turned out for our country if our forefathers had said "We tried our best to fight the British to save our country but most of the people didn't want to fight....so we caved in and let the British have America......" Just because MOST of Americans are ignorant to the subject doesn't mean that we should take the easy road. The Communist Chinese Party receives proceeds from these Chinese sales...that's how ALL business in China works.....that's what makes it Communist and they spend a LOT of f-ing money on propaganda in the USA especially to our youth at Universities...Tik Tok influencing and selling their sh*t ONLY helps them fund their Communist propaganda and weaponize information against the VERY country that spends money on their products! When is it enough....after we lose this great country? Everyone assumes that won't happen....look at Canada now...who would have thought Canada and it's citizens would be in the position it's in now? Do you think the Roman Empire would ever crumble? I bet they thought they would last forever as a society. It's just sad to see Americans not make a stand...it WILL be the reason whey we go down as a nation eventually...and who's watch will it be when that happens? Our generation has dropped the ball big time and let me tell you brother....the future generations aren't going to get any better at the rate we're going right now!
