I may be wrong but the water neck is meant to have an O-ring rather than a gasket. That is what the groove is for.

You're right. Those necks with the o-ring are intended to be used with just the o-ring. I've had bad experiences with just the o-ring. They always leaked on me. The gasket I used specifically noted to remove the o-ring if one was on the neck, which worked out great for me. Thank you for watching 🤝💯

Little by little. The anti freeze you drained still looked pretty good was it very old? Pay a guy to do a rebuild and no thermostat is a rip. Thx

That's right! Little by little. Yeah, it looked good, but it was 20 years old. That thermostat missing is why I don't trust mechanics around here 🤷♂️. It is what it is. Thank you for watching 👊💯

Are you hooking up a external transmission cooler? I know the stock radiators are notorious for going bad and leaking water into the transmission. My trans got busted that way so after the rebuild I installed the external cooler.

What temperature thermostat did you go with? When I replaced my radiator in my Regal I used a 185.

Any steadfast rule to thermostats? I need to do mine (hot hose on top. Not so hot on bottom). Was thinking 160. Any input?

It's up to you and where you live. Stock, they were 195°.
