When a $3 Headhunter pack has more content than this DLC, you know you screwed up.

This drip feeding of content honestly makes me think this is intentional. They have to know how short this DLC is and the fact they tried to stretch it over 4 weeks is either intentional or truly incompetent. There's just no way you can convince me that these devs are not aware of this DLC's quality and length. The fact that the "puzzles" are auto complete and the mechanic of pulling a few levers and waiting a few minutes. Vs at least literally giving us an obelisk or two to fight which could easily make this little bit of content a little bit better. The attention and effort put into this was sad at best.

5:17 the real issue isnt dripfeeding content. its a lack of content. there is nothing in this dlc at all that is worth the money it costs. it shouldve been a hotfix.

I submitted a statement to 2K about how unhappy I was with Coiled Capgors and they replied with "consult" the forums. Unreal! So regretting buying the $90 Chaotic Edition.

This DLC seems like a really poor value. It's sad to see how low Gearbox is sinking, this DLC stinks of cashgrab.

I give Gearbox a lot of credit for their work, I'm in love with the Borderlands franchise, every game. But as someone living in a third world country on an average wage, getting the full Wonderlands experience came with an exorbitant price. Enough to disrupt quality of living for a short while. For that reason alone I'm really disappointed by what we got in the DLC. It doesn't feel like my investment has paid off, but hopefully over time it will balance out.

The increase to Chaos levels is not part of the DLC, all that is included in the DLC is the mirror dungeon and new gear.

I watched Joltz video speed run on the dlc and all I can say is him being able to basically paint during the dlc sums up how I feel (Also would like to point out that the way he criticizes the dlc in a way with that video, didn’t blatantly say anything negative as I’m pretty sure he’s part of the content creator team, but just bravo big brain the way he did it with the painting bit)

If I’m not mistaken, the increase in chaos levels is without the dlc, which makes it even worse in my eyes.

The real problem IMO is the game hasn’t been out a month and we already got DLC…this easily could have been in game on release day

Have a feeling every dlc will be like this; a dungeon type experience. Alright, but not season pass alright. A bit of a rip, and disappointing that it won't live up to its potential. I actually was fine at first. I got to chaos 25 and was bored, went over to Elden Ring and was thought, ooooh, this is what is lacking! A feeling of completeness in Wonderlands.

I'm so done with chaos chambers, they were boring after the second day. If all of the DLCs are just meant to expand the chaos chambers, I think I'm done with this game.

And I thought Holodome Slaughter DLC or Moxxy's Underdome were the worst pieces of DLC for Borderlands. Oh boy.

the best part is the chaos level 35 isnt attached to the dlc so there really isnt any value to the dlc. I'll wait until the season pass is on sale after they ultimately realize they screwed up and release more content with it.

Feels like they’re continuing to try and make Borderlands feel like a live service. I don’t understand this and it turned me off from Borderlands 3. To my knowledge no one has enjoyed live service practices being put into Borderlands games, so I’m unsure of why they continue to do this

I’ve been a Borderlands fan since the beginning. I’m so disappointed with this dlc . If I could ask Gearbox to give me my money back ……. I would . I think all fans should be ready for more disappointments. If the road to dlc4 looks like shit , imagine when you get there

I hope that gearbox is holding back on their best content for last. Bc if anything else comes out like this lackluster "DLC" I'll definitely hold off on any further purchaces/season pass expansions.

I was under the impression the chaos increase and primordial gear is part of the update not the DLC (there was both an update and DLC release)

I think Gearbox fully intended on making this feel just like a spin off title and didn't want to give it the full BL support of the main games to make sure of it. The season pass description even before anything was announced didn't specify anything about story DLCs like BL3's season pass did. I hope they take these criticisms and really beef up the 3 more upcoming DLCs even if only in terms of endgame content. I would like to see them announce some sort of story DLC even if separate from the season pass as Wonderlands has limitless options for story DLC just because of its setup.

I'd take a headhunter pack over this. I don't mind the week to week buildup as a general concept, nor do I think the farming is bad to a waste of time (I'm here to have fun, so the time investment does just that). I just wouldn't pay more than 2 dollars for an update that's basically just heck.

Another thing annoying me, why increase choas levels, if our levels aren’t going up to match those enemies hp/attack? Makes no sense. It feels like I’m doing no damage which is something a borderlands game shouldn’t make me feel like.

You are right, Wonderlands definitely needs the royalty treatment considering we paid the royalty price for the game and season pass. Tier One priced games need to deliver Tier One level content. If this is indicative of the season pass DLC, I personally don't see myself playing Wonderlands this time next year. Also, I will add that if they don't redeem themselves after this, I probably won't pre- order any more Borderlands games, I will more likely wait until all the issues are worked out and just get the game on Steam for half price. I didn't pay full price to be the guinea pig for issues that should have been addressed before launch or for lack luster DLC's like this.

What i get the feeling for is that Coiled Captors feels more like "cut content" that was originally intended to be shipped with the game, but it was delayed in the last second so it could be filled with more assets which also comes with place holder names and unintentionally giving players access to all stages on launch because "time is money"... Comparatively speaking it gives the impression that its a collection of headhunter missions are priced for way more then what they're actually worth. Normally each DLC would include an entire region with several maps to explore with a varied range of NPCs players could interact with that play a part of the questing experience, in this Season Pass collection you get a SINGLE NPC to interact with who plays into the entire season pack experience, this gives off this very hollow experience that almost all content from these packs can if anything be labeled as Quality Of Life features that add onto the base content instead of providing enough new content to stand on its own like what we had with ANY other DLC the every other Borderlands game has gotten over the years... Point is that drip feeding content is only acceptable and effective when its provided content is FREE for anyone to access at any time, not paid for scraps that in this situation becomes irrelevant for anyone buying the game next half year. And we all know Gearbox can do better, they showed us that many times before, and now they have to prove to us fans that they can do so again!

What you say is 100% true but what you fail to realise is the exact same is true of all borderlands games. That's why I play when it launches and then not again until everything has released. The reason for this is because level increases make everything you've grinded for utterly pointless. This is no different. They need to take a leaf from destiny's book and introduce some like enhancement cores so you can level up your great weapons you've earnt after hrs of grinding. I've said this since I started playing in bl2 and it's still am issue now. Really needs change at this point. They've actually gone the opposite way if you think about it as you can pretty much bet there will be level increases again in this game!

From what I can tell the next three DLCs for wonderlands is just going to be 3 more mirror dungeons and that's it.

You can rename your character and companion by finishing the game without the DLC, so that's one less feature. I'd rather have the option to replay the game on something like true vault hunter mode than a bland DLC right now.

Since this is a fantasy tabletop game really the sky's the limit on the DLCs they could do it on anything. I was honestly expecting this DLC to have mobs that we'd never seen before hopefully that's in the next one...

Yeah it was pretty disappointing. I got pretty excited when I saw the Carnival landscape and thought to myself what a cool idea for Wonderlands. It's so close but so far.

The worst thing about all of this is when I realised that they have like 3 more Mirrors planned after this as "DLC"...that's 4 months of drip-fed content that's all just another variation of Chaos Chambers.

More than anything, this all feels like continuing the loop of playing inside the chaos chambers which could be fun but if that’s all you’ve done after the main story it gets stale really fast

After the nerf to liquid cooling it can't out damage dryl at chaos 21. So I'm not playing anymore till there is more balance and gear is useble. This dlc took like 15 minutes i really regret getting the season pass edition of the game. I really enjoyed the base game but this is just disappointing.

The moment I heard it wasn't a story-based DLC and it was just going to be Mini Maps I wasn't going to buy it.

I'm a super fan of borderlands and played all of them for thousands of hours. I really like wonderlands. Leveling up new chars is my favorite and I have already 4/6 level 40 Chars. One Char already has the chaos level 35. The game isn't that short and that's okay but they said they want to focus on end game. And at the moment the chaos chamber is very boring to my. It's all the time the same. No variety, I mean not real... Why they don't add tasks like Parcours, races, run away from an obstacle, climb up a tower and fight your way through while lava rises, theme maps like snowball fight, pirate ship Canon fights, escort missions ect. They could and should add much more than just kill everything and move to the next room. That is so boring... I also would like more character combinations, maybe one day 3 class combinations so you have 3 skill trees again like in borderlands 3? Most spells are very boring to me as well. I would love if they stop limiting the randomness so hard and give the randomizer more variation chance. Even if they don't add completely new spells they could make the existing mix around. Like maybe a eruption that sends fissures in 4, 6 or 8 directions spawning at the end hydras or ice spikes. I don't think they will but i would love if they add a real melee combat mechanic into it. Adding different attack styles depending what you use. Adding a option to hold 2 1-handed, 1 2-handed, 1 1-handed + shield (new item class) would be so cool. They could add much more stuff like spears, nunchuks, boomerangs, bows, throwing spears ect. The prefect borderlands in my eyes would contain much more variety like more gear slots to play around with like rpgs have feet, legs, belt, chest, arms, hands, head, rings and accessories. You could have much more individuality. I would love it so much. The game also need a button to pick up as trash items, they could really benefit from a menu where you can check all the loot options you need. Like what gear you want or don't want to show up, what color, what rarity category, or if you want to make money filter all stuff out under a specific amount of money.... So much cool stuff to add to this game and I'm always kinda disappointed they make the same borderlands but just more instead of evolving stuff. I love the games but they could do way way more and stop limiting the randomness of the game gear. I really hate so much stuff has always the exact same stats and effects. That's such a hard turn off because I see 100 times the exact same gear.... I hope they change stuff...

this really does feel like it should have been like an update, at the very most like a battlepass, or like short term event rather then a full on dlc... kinda wild

More chaos chambers, Primordial gear and other updates mentioned came with the Patch/update that occurred on the same day and isn't part of the DLC. The patch that was released on the same day as the DLC was 10x more hype. In all honesty though. for 10 euro we can't really expect a huge DLC. Still if I compare it to Headhunters from BL2 it still feels very meager. 3 new rooms, 1 new boss, 4-5 new items and that is it really. Even for a mere 10euro I expected at least a short map with a 30-45min story arc leading up to the dungeon. They made a big deal of Vesper and thus the expectation for a story was there as a result. Then inside the dungeon have new variants/enemy types instead of weaker versions of already existing ones. The fact I need to wait 3-4 weeks before I can fight the boss at its fullest potential is annoying as well. I do hope with the upcoming weeks we at least get more enemy types, a few more items and some more maps...at least... Just because other games use Drip Feed on their community doesn't mean other communities would also be open too it. That said I would much rather prefer to buy a more expensive DLC and thus get more content closer to a proper expansion. Such as the ones we gotten for BL3, which were all pretty great. Just a full story arc...or to stay in D&D terms...a nice stand alone adventure with all the bells and whistles. I'd be ok with paying around 20-25 euro for each of those. With these weak drip feed DLC's as free content in between in order to stay relevant and keep people playing. On top of that I would also love to see some other type of content in due time. Chaos Chambers do get old and repetitive for me with the new DLC being rather pointless. You run through said DLC once to unlock the new items and map pieces for the Chaos Chamber and that is it. Since the Soul Wheel isn't really worth doing either compared to the Barf Bunnies. I'd love to see a return of Take Downs from BL3 in some form. Have crystals drop in there as well with the bunnnies at the end of said Take Down in order to make it just as rewarding vs time played as a Chaos Chamber. And if made in a certain way those tilesets/assets could be used to create additions for the Chaos Chambers as well. Including new enemy types etc. I can already see a Take Down as a Dungeon within a "Blobber"-genre game. Hidden buttons for secret walls and loot chests, levers to pull, lots of traps to content with... It fits the theme perfectly imo. If they decide to release these smaller dlc+smaller take down dlc similar to Headhunter packages I'd be ok with that. PS Just because Primordial gear only has 1% chance to drop doesn't mean its useless. It is there for the people who play it non-stop and want that "hardcore" grind to min-max stuff. And it isn't a waste of time if you enjoy playing the game. The proper description would've been that it is less efficient than to wait till we get more chambers and higher % of primordial drop chance. And for such people they're ok with sub-maximum gear... which is fine if that's how you play. Not everyone only plays a game when a new patch/dlc comes out. Plenty of people play it constantly for long periods of time.

Been a fan for years. Love your channel. I wish gearbox would stop with the nerfs. And maybe... Hold fan designed gear contests or submissions... Cause I feel some of the legendary gear can be bland or really weak. Granted. I haven't gotten any more than 4 different legendaries ( liquid cooling, star staff, sunder staff, master craft crossbow.

I'm really disappointed that the only planned DLC coming is more of this re-branded chaos chamber trash. This DLC makes Oblivion horse armor look like the deal of the century.

For me it's also the level cap right now the cap is lvl 40 but when they increase it you will have to throw all your gear away to regrind better Volatile gear of a higher lvl which i hate cause to me it feels annoying to farm any gear if they just increase the lvl cap little by little

I would have happily waited 3 or 4 more months, while the game had purely balancing and bug fixing updates, in order to get a content focused "real" DLC. I mean, one of the problems of this one, in my humble opinion, is that it was designed around a release that actually happened TOO SOON after the game launch. It just seems they focus more on dungeons/ chaos runs in this game rather than the story or expanding on it. Coming from Gearbox that is a surprisingly bad move. I've never been a fan of trial runs for any game. I play for story.

Personally I see the drip feed of this content akin to Gearbox trying to Farmville there product. The fact that Chum is 1 of the 4 DLCs in the season pass with the assumption that the other three mirrors will be the same amount of content for the entirety of season pass disingenuous and unacceptable.

DLC is just content that should’ve been in the main game

I understand it's still super early, but I have a REALLY bad feeling that the good ol days of awesome dlc content is going bye bye. Badass crater of badassitude, captain Scarlett pirate booty, etc etc are what dlc really is. I'll wait patiently for gearbox to prove me wrong but my hopes are nil

The most ironic thing to me is you have people happy they didn't raise the levelcap because "I don't have to regrind my gear" yet... people are still regrinding their gear... chaos is just replacing levelcap increases that our characters power is even MORE tied to RNG bs

Let's break this down for a minute. What is all included in this DLC, by the way, I got this DLC for free by buying the season pass for an extra 20 dollars. 1) You get access to all amenities right out of the first level and going to the Overworld. 2) You get an infinitely farmable boss, and a special wheel, that lets you spend souls for a spin on it. What people don't tell you, is that this isn't the only DLC they are releasing. This is just one, remember when Borderlands 2 came out and they interlaced the smaller DLCs with the bigger ones. We already know that there is going to be a new playable character, which in my book makes the pass worth it already. But let's stick to Coiled Captors for a minute. If you told me, that the DLC, would give me access to everything in Brighthoof, right from the minute I leave the snoring valley, I would pay 5 dollars for it. Then if you said, but what BR3, there's more; you get another farmable boss, and a way to get leveled legendaries, that increases value by 10 dollars to me at least. So immediately in my book, I paid 20 for the season pass, this DLC already made up 15 dollars worth of it. I have no idea why everyone is acting like this is going to be the only DLC for Wonderlands. Stop with the clickbait videos and misleading titles, everyone. Coiled Captors is better than nothing, And I hope we get what we got in Borderlands 2, these "Mirrors" seem to be the new Headhunter DLCs without giving cosmetics. Anyone who wants to argue, feel free to as I will be monitoring this comment, keep in mind when I say arguing I dont mean simply saying something about my mother and saying I'm an idiot this is not your college-level debate class, you actually need to make points.

After playing the first 4 bl3 dlc recently and experiencing stories that I enjoyed more than the base game, I'm going to give wonderlands a hard pass for now... I feel like they realized they can make half-assed dlc like they did with designer and directors cut, just make a skill tree add some guns, call it good. Wonderlands, just add a boss and a dungeon and some new gear and call it good... Wow

the added chaos chamber at levels are part of the free update. so is changing the mushrooms name. I need to pay for those or the primordial rarity. the DLC literally just gives you the dungeon the boss a few weapons drops, and the haunted carnival DLC hub. all the positive things you're talking about were free , AKA you didn't need to own the DLC to get

I knew it wasn't gonna be good because the way too early release. I am only interested in buying new characters or scarlett or claptrap sized dlcs. This game has so much potential and I really dont wanna see it suffer like pre sequel did with no content.

You make a good point, i might as well wait till all dlcs are out to fully enjoy wonderlands 😂😂😂 and wait until the final hotfix is out because I’m tired of grinding for godtier gear, then it’s all nerfed to hell next week. Maybe borderlands should look at how Diablo does seasons.

DLC is like promising a full rack on the menu, then presenting one bone with half eaten meat as the entree of course. They can fix this eye by having it drop only Chaotic;Volaatile;Primordial loot with a cosmetic pool of the dlc only items , plus making the eye a cube instead of a wall so 4 players can use it at once

Big dlc would be nice but I also want the ability to restart the main story and side quests like in bl3. Also the should ease up on the buff/nerd cycle, they seem to focus on the top 3 or 4% of players number crunching behind the scenes and making builds for KZfaq not for regular "casual" players. I feel like now if you want to play the higher chaos levels you are being forced into 1 or 2 builds for your class instead of being able to play how you want your character to be. Why give us options to build our character how we want if it has to be a specific way to work? I kiss my original deadshot.

i finished the boss a bit ago, and waas like "that's it?" i mean, the bl3 season pass at least gave you 4 full length dlcs at the same price as the wonderland's season pass.

when i first played the dlc i have to check online if i missed something with it being so short, when i came upon a tweet or reddit post (don't remember which) from gearbox ( under the ttwl account) stating that none of the 4 currently planned dlc ( including coiled captors) will be story based and they will all be like what we just got😢.

Honestly I've been having a bad time with endgame and this games feel in general and with this Dlc being such a huge flop I went back to Bl3 and was wondering why chaos levels don't scale like Mayhem levels do

I think that a great deal of the player base heard about the DLC coming out so soon and if you were an OG you thought that it was way too early for new content. And we were right, this isn't even a headhunter pack IMO they were at least an hour give or take a little. Joltzdude beat this entire thing in 7 minutes. Like this was the DLC we got, 7 minutes of content and some new legendries. Am I glad that there is new content YES, did the devs do a great job with this content EHH, there were some typical bumps that can be overlooked. But overall they devs need to fix the core game 1st then dedicate some good hard work time to creating some amazing story driven DLC like in past games to really make this game standout.

A victim of its own circumstance. Wonderlands is, for all intents, a smaller-scaled spinoff to Borderlands. It was never going to be expected to perform gangbusters (the fact it did well is irrelevant), so they probably just planned for low risk DLC (headhunters essentially) to keep players engaged enough until Tales 2 and Borderlands 4. We have to keep in mind that this DLC (and probably the next one or two) were developed alongside the game, so the scope of the DLC likely won't and indeed can't be fixed. I hope there is a big DLC to bring the whole experience together however. It's such a good game and I want more of an excuse to return after I get my platinum trophy.

You know a game's good when it makes one of the single most iconic Borderlands KZfaqr's come back from hiatus.

The chaos level increase and qol changes are all part of the update separate to the DLC.

I'm sad that they put so much time into making this dark carnival for souls, but I can't interact with it. The world is just this small island and that sucks.

The content was good the delivery was bad...very bad. If this had been a side quest it would have been top notch. I do think that the biggest issue comes from what we've received in the past and what we expected to get. I think there is a lot of fear coming from the idea that we will not receive any traditional story DLCs.

Also the boss is just another land shark that you've fought zillions of times before during the main game. Would of been nice to have had a creature or whatever something new we haven't seen before as the boss. Imagine a Mantis Crab as a boss.

In my opinion, the only way that this entire coiled captors DLC can redeem itself or really the entire season pass if it's going to be just these mere adventures and nothing else. Is if each week they're going to add more gear to the loot pool as well. If that's the case, that would make a little more sense for him, a repeatable experience and every week it'll add let's say 5 or 10 pieces of new legendary gear to grind since it seems like this first week we got about five or six pieces of legendary gear. Other than that, if they don't do that, why is everyone going to keep playing if they have the same gear to keep grinding for?

Nothing can capture that borderlands 2 feel. Idk what it was maybe the more arcadey combat, maybe the more simplified graphics . It just felt more fun, now it's more detailed and fast paced and feels like it's trying to be like apex and other faced paced fps and in the process, lost some of its identity.

while i really wish for a big DLC, what i kind of hope is that the reason the DLC is rather small, is because they are working on something for borderlands 2's 10 year anniversary coming up in september - maybe a whole new remaster with borderlands 2 on the borderlands 3 engine or something large like that while thats me being overly optimistic, its one of the only few things i can think of that could explain drip feed DLC, and smaller content - as at the end of the day, wonderlands always felt like a DLC to a DLC, as while ive not personally played it yet (waiting for the steam version before saving up for it, because i currently cant afford it), i do see that it seems to hold its own, but i worry that if i purchase and play it, its going to feel like a DLC sized game

I really hope they have a beefy dlc too cause as of right now it seems like the dlcs are just adding more mirrors which make me think more dlcs like we just got. I would like to see a lvl cap increase cause I’ve been having a really hard time moving up through chaos levels. Im stuck at chaos lvl 6 with my spore/Brrrr character cause the Wastard boss 1-3 shots me down and he keeps spawning this bird to refill his shield fast as hell. I’m leveling a Grace character to try to make a better survival character.

This dlc is maybe worth 1$ at max considering it’s not even half as much replay value as a headhunter pack and those were 3$ lol

I haven't played since Pre-sequel when I picked up Wonderlands. I thought a dlc would be a new short adventure in a newly designed string of areas, ending with an actual new boss with new models and animations, and for this game specifically, a new overworld board area. The core game was reasonable and solid for my expectations and it's price, so I thought the dlc would follow. The dlc here was just reused assets in the snow. More work went in to the new hub area that will possibly be for the rest of the not even half-assed dlc. I was more interested in adjusting my charcters to balance changes than starting coiled captors. I'm happy with the game by itself, but I wish I didn't buy the "season pass".

It feels to me like those of us who bought the season pass (Chatoic edition) got screwed. Are they going to nickel and dime us with a DLC i beat in 15 mins until we're out then release something substantial we will then have to pay for?

GB could hardly make a lengthy DLC after how short the main game is. Overall I really like the dynamics of the game but I do feel ripped off after pre ordering the Chaotic Great Edt. The whole game is very short and quickly becomes repetitive as you're thrown into the end game loop so fast.

Unless I'm miss interpreting the description of the season pass the other 3 dlc are just going to be this again just with different bosses and areas.

I feel like it wasted far more player time when they drip fed max level caps in BL3. At least any level 40 gear is still relevant as you unlock higher and higher chaos levels. Speaking of which I hope they never increase the level cap in wonderlands.

Thanks for the video! I would love to play TTW but as we all have learned, it will get completed in about 2 years, earlier if it doesn't sell well. Once all the content (DLC, cosmetics, etc.) is sold on a single package at a reasonable price ($20), I will buy it. Preferably on a physical edition.
