Oh, Mel, I can't thank you enough for this super honest, yet drama-free review. I came thisclose to ordering the Tom Ford foundation and would have already but I can't get anyone from TF to answer my inquiries into the colors, especially the undertones (I need neutral). While waiting for their response, which I feel isn't coming, I found your video. YES the packaging on the TF is stunning, immaculate, but it's not like I'm going to be walking around with it all day displaying the bottle like a game show hostess! Right now I'm using the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow and the Guerlain L'Essentials (I'm of a certain age so these work well for me and my dry aging skin) but I think when it's time to repurchase I'll check out this new EL. Thank you for being someone whose opinion I can always count on and respect. BTW, you look so stunning in this video, as always! xoxo

I’m never ever wanting to spend $150 on a foundation unless it can make my 52 yo skin look 22. I can get Botox with that money. I am willing to try the parent company foundation especially if it’s more hydration. Thanks Mel.

Also new money is more prone on spending money on trendy goods and materials that expire for the sake of feeling and looking! Our generation is in trouble! Your wear test was the reason I bought Estée Lauder. I also picked up the new Dior concealer and love combining both. The concealer helps eliminate the gray cast I get from the foundation’s SPF on my deep skin tone. Tom Ford has joined Jo Malone in the handing over name and all good things to the “Company.”

Ok, the Estee Lauder just came and I LOVE IT!!!! WOW! I am 46, almost 47 and have some fine lines. Not bad. This is amazing. The Fresco C23 is a tad lighter than Double Wear-perfect for me. Highly recommend for dry skin. Thank you SO much for this review. Found my Holy Grail!!!

Hi Mel, I would pick up the Estee Lauder it sounds the same as the Tom Ford; if not better at a lot less money. So tired of paying Top Dollar for a package and a name only! On a discount (which most of us are able to get periodically) , I could get a gorgeous La Prairie foundation w/amazing skin care ingredients for approximately the same price as this Tom Ford foundation- always have to balance the quality vs the cost.💡 Thanks for these comparisons Mel!

I have ❤️ I used to take samples home all the time when I worked at Nordstrom. I liked some but nothing stayed on my face at work (i would have to try again now) but i also had a hard time with the shades 😩

Tom Ford's foundation is the only once that have worked for my skin, both how they look on the skin and colour (fawn). Will be interesting to try EL. When I have been hunting foundation EL has always been to drying or not cover enough or not yellow enough. Does it exists in a cool yellow version for fair skin?

Mel, I see fragrance listed in the EL foundation. Is it noticeable? I usually can't tolerate products that contain fragrance. I'm hoping that its just a masking fragrance and that EL added it to help the product smell neutral.

I am a dumbass for Tom Ford...but he breaks my heart repeatedly by disc lippies and eye quads i loved! Jerk off right? Got damn this foundation is gorgeous tho☑☑☑...get a sample bc Tawny worked for me but doesn't in the Traceless version. I am between 6.5...7.0/7.2 and 7.7 in all 3 foundations I own of his😐

It's my holy grail. 🙌😘 I wear 7.5 Shell beige in the stick foundation and I bought the same shade in the shade & illuminate and it's the exact same shade for me as well. I've heard some say they are not the same shade, but for me, it was.. I am sad he discontinued the quads before I actually started getting into Tom Ford. Dang it. Why Tom Why?🤬🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣

I think you’re paying for the packaging and the name. If I had an unlimited makeup budget I’d probably try it but unless I get one heck of a raise there’s no way I’m getting this. However, I’m definitely going to try the Estée Lauder when I get to needing a new foundation. Thank you for letting everybody know these two foundations are pretty much the same. It helps so so much!!

The only way I've tried Tom Ford is through a grab bag I've bought from Estee Lauder because the company I worked for is a vendor of EL. And the bags had products from all their brands and lots of perfumes. I have received many things from TF but nothing has really wowed me.
