New tool makes cutting consistent firewood fast and easy! Bucking up rounds to compare Eastonmade, Wolfe Ridge, & Musclewood log splitters head to head! Which one is the best? Before we can find out we need enough consistent rounds to test them all. I mounted the Firewood Prosizer I won on ‪@TonysCoolTools‬ on my modded Makita 7900! Rachel and I try to fill our N&N dump trailer. A small mishap ends up damaging a piece of equipment but I was able to make it usable again.
HWM will be on ‪@SkidderKev‬ livestream this Saturday January 14th at 8pm est.

“My stacks were so pretty and satisfying” … Reminds me when my son was stacking wood in the back of our grain truck for my brother-come to find out my brother was just going to dump the wood in a pile back at his house so all that stacking was for nothing! My son was pretty bummed out about it so my brother offered to let my son ride back to the house with him and let him run the truck hoist so he could dump his nicely stacked wood.

“Splitter Food”. LOL I love it. I have a perfect sick to measure 16” exactly but normally just use my 👁️👁️. I did a video a couple years ago where I eyeballed cut like a dozen rounds then measured them with a tape measure afterwards and the average length was 16.25”. I’m happy with 15”-17” but 14”-18” is acceptable. If they’re over 18” I either cut it or send it to my long cut inventory or into mom’s inventory or boiler wood.
@JoesFirewoodVideos
@JoesFirewoodVideos Жыл бұрын
I’ll even go down to 12”, I have yet to have someone tell me that a piece of wood is too short to fit into their stove or fireplace
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thanks Joe, I always say I’m going to make some splitter food so figured I’d throw it on their. I am usually pretty decent at eyeballing it. I figure the Prosizer will help me zone in on 16” a little better the more I use it. Sort of like judging distance and using a range finder to check it, helps train the brain.

Lol man I just mentioned that pro sizer on a different video. Haha just laughing right now. U got all the toys Heath! We got the green laser, seems to work great in the daylight. Heath I don’t think that saw is too rich, it is actually running correctly by my ear and U should absolutely check it with a tach before adjusting anything because it is spark limited. To me, that sounds like a dull chain. I always run my big saws with the rakers down about .035” otherwise they free spool too much and that’s hard on them big time. I should send you one of my chains to run and see how you like it
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Alex I think you were right on the saw I took the rakers down before running it again and it was much better! I have a tach and will check it before running again. The chain on it is all but done for. I was definitely lucky to win that Prosizer and like it so far!
