I have the US General service cart and so far it's been great. Just couldn't spend the amount of money that a Matco, Snap On , Mac or Cornwell costs. Each to their own.

I have my Snap On top, center and bottom boxes I bought new in 1984 and a new US General box. The new US General box is just as good as my Snap On boxes.

I have to agree with you about the price of this setup It looks great and seems to be functional In my opinion this is the best option for storage True it's not a Snap-on but why spend all that $$$

I'd never judge anyone based on their storage. Worked with a guy that came from a dealership with built ins and he probably had close to 6 figures of snap on in a husky

Great chose Clay. With the cost of everything through the roof you have to save money. The quality of the tool boxes and many of the tools at HF have really improved.

For 6k you could buy two 71” set ups one with a hutch one with top box for less than the Matco bottom three bank , I have the same 6s you have their 👍I think the General box is nice

The drawers like to come open unlocked in the Matco when moving it.I had to replace the drawer slides in one drawer of my Dad's Lower Snap On toolbox under warranty.About 35 years old and he bought it new,first set of the slides that were replaced.One shop in my area,the owner paid $54,000.00 for a huge Snap On set up

I saw somewhere that purple is coming because it was listed with a part number in a manual for something they make. Some sleuth on KZfaq pointed out. Sorry I can't recollect exactly where, but keep your eyes peeled for it and hopefully you'll find it. Best!

Tech Tip, Remove the KEY CODE from the lock... You can obtain keys way toooooo easy. You can get different bushings for the friction sliders latching system for matco / mac

Hey Clay That’s a beauty. I wish these were around and in the colors they have now so I wouldn’t have spent tooo much money on truck box. I will take that top box any day over Hutch. I would be thinking led light setup for the top box but you probably have that in the works. I would rather spend additional monies on hand tools. Excellent decision. The new US General boxes from HF are awesome. When I first seen the new HF big bottom toolboxes in person at the store I was blown away at the quality & what you get for $999.99 back then. I have a black Snap-On triple bank bottom I bought for only $1500.00 at a flea market & I like the HF box better because it's deeper & can hold more tools. They're about the same length. After seeing an excellent video here on YT about HF 5 drawer tool cart I bought one in neon green & it's awesome. Very good quality for the price I paid on sale for it a few years ago. Way better than the cheap Blue Point cart I have without any drawers. Thanks for sharing.👍

I’ve been working out of a series one 44” box with the side stack for years. Yeah, is crappy….But it’s fully functional. All the paint in still on it (Unlike my Cornwell box). I’m really debating going with either this box or an Icon. I’ve priced out a Matco, but I can’t see spending that kind of money on a box. For that price I could buy the US General, a top of the line Launch scan tool, and a Picoscope. And still have money left over.

Clay, I have an original US GENERAL 56" PRO SERIES. That box has served me very well since I got it in 2013, the only thing I have had to do to it is repaint the top box as it was starting to have surface rust on it from weather, yes it was outside for a couple of years covered up in tarps while I was waiting on a new barn. Not one bit of it was due to mfg, all my own doing. But a few cans of red spray paint and it was good as new. I hope to upgrade to a series 3 in the near future.

That looks amazing! I got the us general 5 drawer cart during black Friday for $189. The slate gray with black trim. It feels so professional and I’m enjoying it as a homeowner/ diy car guy. I also have a craftsman 5 drawer rolling box and debating getting a matching top box or Us General top box.

There is a lot to be said about harbor freight lately. Personally I have always had great luck with buying used boxes. My current snapon krl series 54" with stainless top all in cost me 2k. Also, I much prefer the deeper drawers vs longer box as it takes a smaller footprint. I think the new series 3 will be a great option for new techs that want a big box. But doesn't hurt to hold out for a smoking used deal on a usa made box.
