Great comment. Thank you. I was just wondering how the hell can this make 5.5l 100km. And it's a hybrid. Mazda 2 of all small cars have the best fuel consumption 5.5 average and it's natural aspirated. And yeah, polo, fiesta and other small cars in this segment especially German cars, are crap comparing to Japanese. I have both Polo 2019 and Mazda 2 2019. And polo is a peace of shit.

@@morishogo144 yeah Joe is against hybrids and dont know why. In one of his video about old yaris hybrid he said that he had 8.5L/100 km but I think he drove the car 2 km. Hybrid car has a process, when you start the car and engine is cold you drive couple of meters purely on battery (30 seconds) then engine kicks in and starts to warm up and you drive on battery that time while motor is warming up. Motor is runing but you drive on battery only. You can feel it and hear it, when you accelerate engine doesnt change rpm. Only if you "floor it" engine kick in and change sound. Who floor the gas pedal when engine is cold? Joe.. You can see it in his videos. Computer in that case shows higher consumption first 3 minutes to compensate driving on battery and get real economy figures at the end. After 3 minutes engine is hot enough, computer economy start falling rapidly and yaris work normally as most of the time.. I have gen 3 yaris hybrid 2020 july and I have 4.2 L/100 average consumption after 2300km easy/ normal driving. 27L of gasoline and 640 kilmoetres. Do your math. Even when I drive it like crazy in city with full gas on traffic lights until 60km/h to annoy people ( yaris is very fast car 0-50km/h because of combined electric and motor torque) :) i can get under 5.5 L /100 km . I think joe didnt do 100 km combine with hybrid yaris, he doesnt even know how to drive it and he probably made up or do some errors when reading data from computer because yaris has advance statistic. On one of his video yaris showed on middle screen 5l consumption, he claimed in that test 6.2 consumption so... Even on spritzmonitor yaris is second best economic petrol car together with hyundai with 4.8 L avg among 1629 of users. Great car, look on youtube you will see new yaris gen 4 getting 3.5 L easilly. It is best hot hatch small car in the world, period. Others are 20 year behind toyotas hybrids

IMO that'a s great test showing what will be the economy when you don't drive like a grandma. With this kind of driving the normal Yaris will have a consumption somewhere around 8.5-9 (I have one). So 5.3 is quite an improvement. And this car will have way better economy if he'll dose braking to the level when it's regenerating energy. You can still floor it and get good mileage by you have to be more gentle with your brakes.

In this particular place there is some metal stuff on the road that makes this sound. Not yaris fault ;)

It works with gas and electric at the same time. Hybrid cars are more economic. Also toyota cars can charge themselves but other hyribds cant. Thats why the most using car is toyota among hybrid cars right now.

@@eraygedik8600 other hybrids can as well. "mild" hybrid cars charge themselves but are less efficient (more efficient than non-hybrids though). the true hybrid cars have much larger batteries and require actual charging from the grid, but are more powerful and more efficient.
