For the most part Craig teaches morning classes, Ethan, NickyRod, Nicky Ryan and Damien alternate teaching noon classes throughout the week while JB teaches evening classes and Jozef Chen teaching the class right after. B Team is most definitely team oriented with the pros making you feel apart while New Wave is a hand selected comp team that trains at Renzos Gracie Academy.

Went to B Teams noon class and it was nothing but an amazing experience. Plenty of time to work on the move put out there and plenty of help with it. Josef Chen helped my drilling and I got to roll with Nicky Rod, and it wasn’t because I asked, he asked to roll with me. It was a 10/10 experience.

I went to 6 classes at B-Team when I visited Austin and 1 at RGA. I was fortunate that almost all of the classes I went to were taught by the pros and they were pretty hands on. The class I went to at RGA was good but as mentioned it was 45 minutes late. During John’s class he taught great technique but was not as hands on as the B-Team guys. Also was lucky enough to roll with Nicky Rod and Haisam a couple times while I was there, so that was cool

Bteam is open to anyone probably a bit pricey. But youll have fun. Learn from top level guys and them remember you, But rga atx is now like 325$ a month. John even said if youre not there every day and competing and winning he wont know your name. There are rga students. New wave “c” students. New wave “juniors”. Then actual new wave, so if you go expecting to train and compete as new wave. It prolly isnt guna happen. But if youre a monthly member at bteam youll be bteam,Plus also with john its best to rank up elsewhere , cause youll have thT rank for a while. Im pretty sure helena has been a 16yr old blue belt for like 4 yrs now. Honorable mention 10th planet austin, amazing establishment and instructors. And most cost effective if you dont have a shitload of extra cash

I have a hunch that the reason why they won’t disclose why they made the split in the first place was because it was decided to do in on purpose to create some hype/rivalry in the competitive grappling scene. By doing this, they have now created tons of interest in seeing people from these two teams that were also former friends/teammates go up against each other. Not saying that’s for sure what happened, but that would be genius. I think that they could possibly have planned this whole thing to set up big matches with big paydays. Definitely makes the matches more interesting to watch. Doing this also potentially gives Craig Nikki and others, the ability to make some more money on their own by starting a new gym. Bteam definitely looks more fun to train at though lol. Great video 🤙

You have the junior convo wrong. It isnt the success or failures...its how much of the system they have learned. It is the time with John and "rank". Big Dan and Luke has not been under John a long while like the others have. There were junior squads even way back when they were in NY before even Craig exploded on the scene with them. So this is not a new topic at all, it is just a copout or argument claimed lately by Craig and Rod. Even helana is considered junior. I used to have a "Junior" visit our gym many times before for seminars and things etc. This person was better than average compared to other gyms....still was considered junior because of his time in the system and with John. And that was WAY before they left NY. This is just a scenario taken outta context to be able to sling mud at John and Gordon that has been brought up recently.

Yeah no, they calculate their win record off (non juniors,) it is a system literally bit around dick measuring. And a way to measure there dick as the longest is to include gordon ryan, and very few others. We get it, gordon is the best grappler in the world. But big Dan and others being juniors is an absolute joke... and its for their own ego. And it's one of the main reasons that almost every pro left dds. A gym split that includes 99% of the competitors going one way, including Gordon's biological brother... that's not a red flag, it's all the red flags at once. The vibes at new wave is bad. It's gordon and john, and all the plebs worse than him, warm bodies for him to style on. Yes you will get coaching, because gordon needs competent sparring partners. But at the end of the day, they don't matter, and that was a very loud and clear message send to all the pros that left.

@@panicjiu-jitsu5834 dude, you literally just contradicted your own argument. I'm not denying that Meragali is amazing, but objectively speaking, he has the least of both when compared to Dan Manasoau or Luke Griffith. If they are juniors for that reason then logically speaking so is Meragali. His previous training and being the world champion, by YOUR argument, should be irrelevant.

This video makes both gyms look bad for casuals. Pay 50 usd for a drop in for someone not bother correcting you or using their phone. Anyway, it seems like new wave is better for people who are already elite or on that path. Casuals or non elites are not going to be invited or have their path supervised by Danaher. B team seems to like a much more fun place to train and challenge yourself. But you have to be disciplined and take charge of your own learning.

What a strange conclusion. Two of the three categories go to New Wave, but B-Team wins. This is an excellent example of emotional reasoning. In New York, my understanding was those who came and trained regularly (even for a few days in a row) would be invited to the competition class. I’m also sure John Danaher has precisely defined the term ‘junior’ so very difficult to nit pick on such terminology without asking for how it is defined. The conclusions of the interview with Tyler are also inconsistent. He went to one class, then overgeneralises. The antithesis of anything scientific. Strange overall clip.
@joshjitsuBJJ
@joshjitsuBJJ 9 ай бұрын
It was really difficult to make any firm conclusions. If this can help to clear it up, the fact is that New Wave has better coaching and better competitors. But through some research, I found that New Wave is uninviting where although B-team has achieved less, they are more welcoming to visitors and in general to their members while still being an elite team. Therefore, in my opinion I would chose to visit B-team if I had a chance

Isn't big Dan a purple belt? I could be wrong, but if he is maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway from my perspective, it sounds like I would gain more from the New Wave classes. Gary is solid and I'm not making videos, I would just want to learn from the best. It sounds like that Is New Wave. The problem is actually getting in.
@AC-wc7ju
@AC-wc7ju 9 ай бұрын
Yeah dude, unless you are world class or on the cusp, john isn't training you. John's attention is firmly set on gordon... and whatever other competitors gordon rolls with. If you train at b team, you can roll with all the pros, get direct help to improve, and if you are competing, you are in the club. At new wave, not so much. Also the split of danaher death squad happened, primarily because gordon ryan is selfish ego-maniac, and every other pro competitor came second to him, in john and Gordon's eyes. Literally 99% of the team left. And it was because of gordon, including his own brother. Based on this, anybody who has spent time in a gym knows this is a huge red flag. Also there is the issue of gordon openly admitting he is a steroid cheat, and giving now fucks. I know bjj is one of the sauciest sports in the world. But plenty of competitors don't cheat. It's once again a very selfish and negative vibe to have in a gym. John may be the best coach in the world, but there's s huge part of Gordon's success that comes from his selfish narcissistic personality, and obsession with his superiority. It's a potent combination for a competitor. I don't for a second think john is significantly better than other top coaches, enough to live in an environment like that. That's why every pro competitor passed on it from dds. Big Dan literally lost to nicky rod and gordon was laughing about how big Dan isn't even good, and john refers to him as a junior. Even though he's p4p 1 in adcc as a heavyweight. Even other famous pros without beef with gordon dislike him, and openly train and maintain relationships with Craig and b team.

The results speak for themselves. B-Team feels more recreational and kind of like a frat house. New Wave feels much more professional. To me, it really depends on what you're trying to get out of Jiu Jitsu. If you're just doing it for fun, and part time, then B-Team feels like a better fit. If you want to dedicate your life to jiu jitsu and perform at the highest level, you need to be at New Wave.

Any one can train at Renzos which is where New Wave is at but you have to be selected to train with the New Wave crew, while anyone can train with anyone at B Team including the pros but its most definitely a professional room as well.

Who cares. I'm in Tracy/Bay Area, Ca. & in no way can afford to visit either. May as well just settle for Aikido with all the tough guys hiding in the closet out here.

I watched some JRE with john danaher and it was one of the most boring episodes ever. That guys ego is off the chart. And he is booooooring.

Ugh how is it a cop out to call them juniors. They dont have blackbelts and havent been training under Dan for too long. We know the equaliant at Bteam, but just dont call them "up and coming" or the "non Gym owners"... I give john credit for even calling them something. Here is your engagement comment

For someone who's never competed how can Danahar really know anything about competition. Also, Danaher may watch wrestling but he's never done it so how can he really understand it. He definitely can't teach it as evident from Meragali's pathetic takedown offense the other night against Kaynan.

lol questioning how can danahers bjj be trusted if he never competed despite having a highly successful competitions team and mma fighters

@@REXAZOR Did I say anything about BJJ? I said competition and wrestling. You should go back to school and take some elementary level comprehension classes. While your at it, go ahead and take a remedial English course to learn how to write a proper sentence. .
