I have those blinds in my kitchen and one in my living room. I call them “the good blinds” as opposed to the vinyl ones.

All that you do by yourself is admirable! It looks very nice. Keep doing it all now while you're young because once you get old, it may become impossible to do so much by yourself. As an older person, I find myself hiring people because I've lost so much physical ability, and many of my dreams might never happen now. I love watching others do things that I wish I could still do.

First and foremost, I am forever amazed at how handy you are. It's lovely to be reminded that there are a lot of things that a lot of us can do if we just try. And now for the tangent: I like the functionality of blinds. I absolutely hate trying to clean blinds. Therefore, I have decided I hate blinds.

I hv the blinds n love them. My husband put them in between our storm windows n main glass so the kids could not get to them. I hv had them 4 years and still look brand new

I'm soo glad u got the cordless kind. When I was like 13 there was a little girl who I babysat a few times who lived in my neighborhood and was only like 5 who died when she got caught in the cords of the mini-blinds next to her bed. It was soo sad! She was such a sweetheart and she was soo young. I couldn't believe it when my friend called me and told me the parametrics where at their house and that's what was going on. I never allowed blinds anywhere near my kids beds because of that. I now a lot of people think that people just make this kinda shit up and it never actually happened to anybody. I probably would have thought that too if I didn't actually know someone it really happened to but it does happen and it could happen to anyone. 😢

Those look great! I worked for a window treatment manufacturer and those were my favorite style blind. Love the larger slat! I can't believe more people don't self-install, they're incredibly easy to put up. I'm a clumsy grandma and can get one up in less than 10 minutes.

Most homes come with those and they are atrocious. Maybe that's why more people don't use them. Everyone I know installs their own blinds...? I've never known one single person that hired someone to hang blinds. 🤣🤣🤣

⁠@@AmysAttitudeYou've never seen it so it probably doesn't exist. Look at my address. I sell and install window coverings. In 20 years I've had a handful of clients self-install. And your further misinformed - most new homes come with basic 2" composite wood slat blinds, she installed a larger slat which looks much better and is more expensive. Also, does everyone you know buy a new home? Because resale homes are a crapshoot when it comes to window coverings, they don't all come with matching blinds. But hey, thanks for speaking for the entire world from your tiny vantage point Karen. ✌️

That’s why everybody wants to know where the blinds came from. Some one said Hunter Douglas ..I know one thing I bought blinds .. and they weren’t that easy to hang years ago. I will be looking for these..

My neighbors and the Tax Accessor would love for me to paint my house, but since my husband died, I have decided to just let the paint he applied, fade away, to return my blue house back to the factory Beige of the pre painted siding. I know it's not Vinyl, but I forget what it is called, it's from the 1980's. (Maybe masonite) I'm not willing to pay the $3500.00 to have it painted only too have to pay more in taxes, (home improvements) for it too just need painting again in five years! It's Pandoras box! Right now it looks a bit tie-dyed! And, I am over it!

I think what he's trying to say, rather than closing them down to the floor, turn them towards the ceiling. I have them as well. Some days I'm up. Some days I'm down. Just depends on my mood. It's just one personal preference, right?

@@sherrypersinger7056 that’s what I’m saying but not about preference. Facing them up towards the ceiling makes it nearly impossible for someone to see inside. Facing down, someone can go up higher and still see in. Facing up, no matter how low they go, they’re basically looking at the ceiling. She said it was her daughter’s room, so as a parent, I’m thinking about protecting them from creepers.

Modern ones are much better looking. Also, having all the windows that face the street having the same treatment definitely improves "curb appeal".

Why does ALL Americans think they have to put up blinds. They are dust and grease (from your kitchen. Yes it does) collectors that are extremely difficult to clean. Curtains work better and are easy to clean.

Why are These window Shades inside😮. Dönt U have Shades outside? Then in Summer the sun does Not Heat the Windows Up and NO one can See in 😂 and U still can have nice curtains inside Greetings from Austria🎉
