Let's be real, this is not just what we will get by Oct 15. This is what we will get for the rest of the YEAR. They will have to go into bug fixing post Aeternum launch.

yet again they are pretending that raising the gear score is equivalent to new content. Regearing my endgame equipment is not content, it is a slap in the face and a statement that you do not value the time that your players spend attaining gear and finely tuning their builds only to have the rug pulled out from under them repeatedly. Instead of a new zone, we yet again got a reskin of an existing area of the map. This team is just creatively bankrupt scammers at this point. Dave should leave asap since you can see in his eyes that he's the last one with an actual soul and going along with these other clowns is damaging it.

They lied about the roadmap. AGS have proven that they dont care about following their earlier roadmaps anyways, adding like 50% of promised content. Most garbage dev team in gaming history.

They are doing their best to hide that this is just a cash grab and they run out of PC players to milk. Its time to milk as many console players as possible. I knew this was a cash scam years ago. As soon as they started selling QoL features like armor sets it was obvious. Nothing but low effort content and cash shop items. They said in alpha "dont worry about the store. In game armor will look just as good." That was true until they decided to sell transmog, effectively making every piece of in game gear a cash shop item. All the suckers ate that shit up like it was the best thing ever. These QoL things should have been in game for free. Not sold to people while making practically zero content. This game is a scam. The new LoTR game will be the same scam. People need to wake up. I can't believe AGS got the license for LoTR. The death of one of my favorite franchises.

6 months? This won't even come until October, which is STILL 4 months away. Further, they basically said the next roadmap won't happen until 2025, which means nothing for Nov or Dec ... heck, we aren't even getting another Season event.

Console players could give the game this almost sense of day 1 again, thats really my only hope. That being said New World has so many things that other MMOs fall short for to me... (The combat) My aim actually mattering in this out of literally every other MMO makes it one i will literally always hold onto....

This "roadmap" is what should be quarterly content added to the game on a developed MMORPG imo, especially if you make it seasons based. They confirmed they will keep going with seasons when there were only 3 seasons this year, including the expansion one, and season 4 and 5 had nothing into it other than 1 10 man trial. Also the fact they have been answering over and over the same questions was very upsetting, and the way they answered them at some point like "again, no" with kind of a smile... man they selected the questions, it's non acceptable they make it like people are idiots for asking questions when they pick the same ones formulated slightly different.

Those unfortunate events, from Friday till today will be forgotten and pass into history as a big fail... My point of view after a lot of nerves and frustration with what happened is this: They fck up, but we cannot change the past, if you like the game and want to play it in October just go casual, play rhe hours you want to play, with the content we currently have, or just leave the game, and go for another one!! I have a question for you, have you seen the announcement about the console tests, it says that they will have to test experiments with unique weapons, does this mean that there will be a new weapon that will have every statistic?

They should provide a road map around September. It doesn’t make sense to drop one now because there isn’t anything until October. It would be awkward from a marketing perspective. Waiting until after the patch is wrong, but dropping one right now is also wrong (given we now know we get nothing until October).

Honestly I think following the 15th of Oct the only thing we are going to get is seasons a few times a year. I really think this is it.

I'm wondering if DX12 means the implementation of frame generation. Would be nice to get a smoother experience in highly populated areas. I know the devs mentioned FSR upscaling in one of the interviews that got taken down, but I think a lot of people are CPU limited so this won't necessarily help much.

Devs: In 18 months time if you play your cards right, one person per realm will have the opportunity to grind for a 'golden carrot' mount attachment which may, or may not increase your mount speed by 0.25%, but owning the carrot is a double edged sword in that - for every 100 yards you travel on your mount with the carrot equipped your character level will decrease by 50% which means youll have to re run old content just to get back to the same level you were 2 hours ago. Until that time we plan on introducing a bunch more bugs for PC users whilst at the same time refining the experience for console users before console release.

After 5200+hrs, I have finally UNINSTALLED the game, once again.

I'm just glad that it's going to be cross play. I want to run dungeons over and over again. Now we just need mega servers where we have cross region.

This game has been created by developers that never really played MMOs for real. This is why they are detached from reality. They have a team of less than 60 people with no passion for the game they made. if you see their faces, they are bored AF and tired.... with a team that small compared to Team 2 of Blizzard which is develops WoW and they have around 300 developers... it shows they don't have a strong Lore and the stories they develop are good but short, and not enough, so getting more content struggles... Imagine if they could/would create 6-8 dungeons with 3 to 5 bosses + 1 raid with 8-9 bosses every 6 to 8 Months, like WoW does... the game would still be strong and bringing millions... Their past mistakes pushed people away, like having no freaking mounts in an MMO at launch, what a joke... or not being able to open the Inventory while running... 5mins in at launch, my friends and I wondering how we could do that... and a year later they made it possible... The graphics are beautiful, but this particular 3D engine is not easy to work with which has pushed Dev times more than anticipated. The gear problem... I've spend maybe 50 hours alone searching for items I could not find... the Search option for the inventory came over a year later. Then we had plenty of different profession sets, and combat/dungeon sets... a way to manage and saved sets came way too late and they stuck it behind a paywall... They have always been playing catchup with content and they eventually brought features needed at Launch but very late. Amazon should have hired someone with MMO experience in a real MMO title and not these guys. Even finally fantasy 14 DIrector took the first edition offline and made all the dev team play WoW for 6months... so to understand how an MMO works, plays, what to do, what never to do... Like ok they are gong to need Mounts... lets not do the maps so small that people will eat content too fast... but they took the cheap and easy way which made them lose half the player base in a month and kept going down... Yes besides the server issues at launch, the low capacity, etc... I really hope this game would be a true contender against World of Warcraft, Guild Wars2, and FF14. But the short vision of whoever is leading this gaming studio from Amazon is shown. Amazon being nearly a 2 Trillion dollars company clearly has hired cheap Developers and Managers that could not envision an MMO that could be lead the others into the future... It loos more like a Ghetto Game Studio... and the new game they are making will probably suffer from the same lack of direction and commitment to players. I know this has been a long post... but I see they are still doing the same crap with different smell... now they are trying to enter the console market, and it will still suffer from the same bad and low content cadence. I have uninstalled this games many months ago. With all the recent drama surrounding this game, I have no intention of ever returning. Thank you AGS, you have helped me move on to play other games. I will not even bother with LOTR seeing how bad this game was handled. o7

Definitely frustrated that I got my hopes up, but these are things that players have been asking for for a long time. I'm hopeful that the change to cutlass keys will be great. I think that a full year of little to no content really shows just how broken things have been this entire time. I hope that means that they've put the full effort into fixing things for the launch of console

They should of leaned into what the community said in the beginning. It was like a old school runescape. They should of added more skills and made the grind much harder. The gold cap would be an issue. They could of added very rare perfect roll items to expeditions similar to artifacts that gave people a reason to grind content and so on.

With the grotesque amount of bugs in the game currently, I'm happy they aren't stuffing more content in. I'd just break things further. A full focus on bug fixes for the remaining months is a good thing imo.

Can somebody please tell me what matchmaking is? And what is the difference from the matchmaking that already exists? Because last I played like a year ago we could queue into matches of arenas and OPR. What is matchmaking if it's new?!

I think this video was pretty straight forward and good though. Clear answers no content until October, focus is bug fixing and a smooth release. Clear answer roadmap is for next year and even if it was not clear in words it is kinda clear after a release you focus on fixes and playing the new content. So October-december is for reworked game and raid/pvpve/progression. I think it's enough especially if you go for a fresh start. The roadmap though, is neccesary. Better make a roadmap and small delays for the releases than no roadmap. It is needed to get buyers as you just said. Everything in this announcement picture though especially the "and more" section is really something you see on good early access games. So yeah, now Aeternum is officially in early access we can say! And for us it is a true early access since we get the game for free. So I hope for console players the game is this easy to fix and control now as they hoped for. Otherwise it will be horrific.

I imagine getting ready for console and dx12 has been sucking up alot of time. It's going to be a challenge for ags to simultaneously release patches on three major platforms at the same time. I am still annoyed at how the announcement was handled. But it is what it is .... I just find combat frustrating ...

Why didn’t they just release this photo alongside the aeternum dev announcement trailer?? 😭 People still would have been disappointed, but I don’t think there would have been nearly as much outrage. Especially considering most PC players won’t have to spend a dime to come back on Oct 15 (or whatever the delayed day will be). Definitely a missed opportunity here. It will for sure hurt console sales, but If the community calms their panties, we could still see a relatively successful console launch. Honestly, NW doesn’t need one million concurrent, just a few hundred thousand. And I think we could see those numbers on relaunch day 🙏🏻

I think a lot of people like me don't really expect a lot of new stuff, but finally a bugfree experience. AGS really is champion on adding bugs.

The new unannounced roadmap is, get new customers on console so we can disappoint them like we did with the PC players

They are marketing NWA to console people as an action RPG (including “play solo or with a friend”), not an MMO. Console players used to games like Elden Ring are going to be extremely disappointed as it is a pathetic action RPG (it’s an MMO after all). Nevertheless, I believe the lack of a road map is because they may make new content away from an MMO and more towards an action RPG if the game does well with console sales.

The Force in not strong in Aeternum, and the Jedi are leaving in droves. I personally spent 3000 hours in the GAme and enjoyed it but doing the SSDD became a drag. Maybe okay if you only play the WARS/OPR but for the mainsteam players once you have completed the Quests there is not a lot to keep you coming back.. On a brighter note the base game including the DLC is good value and woth the asking Price.. My personal view the Game needs an Annual DLC as a new map. Perhaps this doesnt bring in enough $ for AGS to do it , hence the rework of old maps, or the engine they use cant handle it? At this I cant see me venturing into the lands of Aeternum in the near future.

pve end game should be hard but with appropriate rewards for the difficulty, the problem with the worm is that its too hard for the low quality rewards

so like do the devs hate their game or what? lol it's bad decision after bad decision and failing to meet anything that would directly improve the game, just constant widening the scope for lateral updates just for the player base to not grow because the game still sucks and barely runs on even the latest computer hardware. new world will 10000% die. it's been almost 3 years and they do the most stupid lateral updates not a single player has asked for. and on top of that, can't even put out a 6 month roadmap, a HALF YEAR road map was too much, why? because they're not gonna do shit to the game, liek the haven't been for 3 years excluding like 2 decent updates.

Game on its last legs with low playerbase, company swings for the fences with console release, hoping it can make the game profitable enough for further development/server costs. 2. Devs announce the one thing that can keep away dreaded maintenance mode: console release. Huge announcement, mass communications, showing the game to a new audience, adding enhancements and making a big splash. 3. PC hArDcOrE gAmErS, only people playing, around 3.7 of them, horribly angry because they wanted a company who is ALREADY LOSING MONEY, to add more content, to "bRiNg bAcK" PC players who are never coming back. 4. Crying ensues. Keep winnin' that game, son.

Remember even if they announce roadmap, they will likely not to deliever stuff, it already happened once... Like Jay said, New world will NEVER be my main game and for many others, i will hop in, play for a week, two max finish the story, do the new dungeon once or twice, then move on... And i don’t think i will buy another expansion if they will do one, don’t want to support this mess... 3 years into development and they STILL don’t have idea who is their main audience... Original was full loot PvP survival game, then PvP focused MMORPG with a bit of PvE then they moved to full themepark with bigger focus on PvE and now it is soloable storydriven ARPG with option to COOP/multiplayer

The pvp zone will be awful. One entrance and exit, no points to control (to move the battle and create constant content), and apparently no other reason to go there except to gank people with muskets. Races are at least directed. They just don't happen often enough. But w/e. AGS is full of fail.

PC players of New World just need to come to the realization that AGS is cutting you loose, and focusing the game on console players.

To me this doesn't seem like a lot of work for an entire year. I really like pvp but I've been bored for a while, a new zone isn't gonna keep me motivated really.

hopefully they don't fuck up controlelr support this time. Staggerable enemies could be good and add a tactical layer to PvE combat, if done right. Also I already suspect it wont work on bosses

At 3 minutes I had to stop listening to this. I watched their Q&A. "They said it's for consoles in polite way", well obviously, but who will it benefit? The players who cry there are no players? If it goes well we will have crap ton of content again made by the players, and that is the point of an MMO. "They said there will be no updates until October.. blah blah blah". There will be one season and 2x different PTR tests where we can try the new content before October. EZ 100-200 hours played BEFORE the actual release. Stop crying dudes with 10k hours on it who wants to refund

There's a reason mmos don't make their own engine. Look at rift and gamebryo. They had monthly updates of this size for years and their first expansion was like 12 zones. They said the reason they could release content so fast is because of the maturity of the tools and game engine made creating new content so easy. I have a feeling AGS and their engine situation was similar to halo with infinite, where it took them half a year to release a new arena map and add scoreboard. Hopefully they're at the point after this year they can release regular content updates. I think new world was just an excuse to develop their engine especially with lotr.

I think we all need to go outside and touch grass. New World should not be the only game you play. They probably don’t want to release content anytime soon because Elden Ring DLC is coming out and no one want to compete with that. I just got done playing OPR it was pretty good.

Even though they are dropping the ball i am pumped for this because my wife and 2 of my friends are console players. They are all buying it when this drops so they can play with me.

As someone that owns a Series X and PS5, New World is certainly a nice cozy couch option....But sure AF not paying more money to have it on console when i already own it for PC...and since its cross platform I would hope there is an option for console players that own the game already on PC to use that liscence on Console....But im gonna guess its 99.9% chance they will say sorry, you would have to buy it again lol. Dead game is dead? hehe

Do we know if cross platform game play means that every one can play on the same server console + PC co living ? OR the cross platform Play is only for : Arenas / OPR / Expeditions ?

I haven’t played new world since November but what it seems like and honestly looks like, is that AGS is doing whatever they can to make new world hit on consoles and hope those players stay. PC players are already disappointed and expect more from AGS but console players are new and won’t. If new world launches at 70 bucks it’s worth it for console players they will get their 70 bucks worth of content and AGS knows that. It just sucks that I beta tested this game for 1000 hours. Never again…

The best way to sum up this game is "great potential wasted". I played this game until last month. If they dont care about PC players who have supported them through all of the ups and downs which we all know was mostly downs then they can try to fill the ptr with employees. Just let the game die guys and we can all talk about it as a giant waste of potential

MMO game is like this we're never met for console just the way the algorithm is set up the way you fight the way you run around the way you do Quest it's just not meant for consoles so they just pretty much throwing all of us PC players under the bus like I have talked about this with other KZfaqrs this game will be dead within a year they're going to bury themselves these type of games were meant for PC not console systems they're literally making their own beds yes you're going to attract a few console players but a true MMO player is going to play on the PC every time I can honestly say I won't be back

I've said it before, I'll say it again, the game is dead. The devs get "so excited" to "share" updates and "tease" so called "goodies" and then we get it, and it's just more trash. They can't give a roadmap, because they are far too focused on releasing to console. I've played since testing (8k hours) haven't played in months (log in to do updates or whatever minimal content we do get) but pretty much moved on to other games. I haven't got my hopes up after Brimstone (and for justified reasons). They want to get console players hyped for LOTR. That is really their next big venture.

and we dont even know if this update get at october OR we have a stylish of delay HAHA> . if they were a 1% percent more clever on 7th trailer they respon on 8th with an update OR they release TL to let people spend the summer on TL till octobers update. NOT EVEN 1% strategy. they want only the money .
