As you said, cross server capabilities will help reduce the issue of server population when it comes to certain content like expeditions. However, you also mention the importance of a server economy which would also benefit from cross server capabilities as well. Players are still not going to want to be on a low pop server despite cross server play if the economy on their server is dead.

The thing is... If the update generate enough hype and population growth won't they create new servers as "fresh start" servers? That's a big if but in that case you might wanna wait for update to decide.

I came back and went to a fresh start and well it is quiet, good if you want to farm and craft on your own accord, but the market is not great, there is just not enough clients to sell to really. So I am selling, but it is slow going and you are really hit by limited listing slots as a result.

I wonder if ags will ever let transfers to fresh start servers. After a year the differences between fresh and legacy won't be too much. I'm hoping they can create one server with multiple channels. But not sure if the game engine would allow it.

I've been playing since the fresh start servers on a fresh start server (Nyx). Population has gone down from 1.5k to 700 on a good day, mostly around 500 prople. The economy is bad, because almost no one has money. For example I sold a bis ring for 60k but that same ring goes on Barri Server for 220k. (Ring: +25CON, Refreshing, Hearty, Scared) I have now created a new character on Barri, we'll see how it goes.

wait in the end you said their seasonal plan is not like diablo/Poe? I actually thought that was their idea. If its just about a season pass I feel like its not really a "seasonal system". But I think its fine. I wouldnt want to level up a new char every 3 months lol.

Yeah, same here, some people view seasons that way, Diablo is actually changing it with 4 to be more like this.

Fresh servers had the most players for the Australia region at the start. The last I check it had the least players and a few hundred of old players jumped back to the legacy server. AGS's plan of having fresh and legacy didn't work out as the had hoped because in the end those remaining players are just those hardcore/casual players who enjoy playing New World.

I have just started bought and installed the game and the new dlc and decided to do as you said and not start on a fresh server but to go to a transfer server as a old world of warcraft player you never had this choice anyway so I'm not going to start now!

Can you transfer off fresh start to legacy? I know the reverse is no, but not sure of the other way around.

On fresh start even after merge people join m10, die many times and self quit. Almost every run on tempest or depth with random one player leave. If I have a account on legacy I will never leave it. Just my personal experience on fresh start after 2x merge

Fresh start, everyone left. Plus there is not a transfer away. You are stuck there! They are really empty apart from new players, even they stop are replaced with more new players!
