I only talked about the build a little in this video, I had just posted a build guide the day before so didn't think it was going to matter but a surprising number of people are getting recommended this video compared to normal for me. the most important part is just stacking as much fire & thrust resist as possible really

just saw your other comment looks like you found my last update haha I'm working on another video in my spare time right now, going to be another tank build but I've been running a mix of sns/hatchet and sns/bb at the moment. did some odo/hammer and it's kinda fun just 2 shotting light players wrecking ball into armor breaker but it plays kinda slow for my liking. if you play heavy right now, nature's wrath is definitely the way to go but I'm waiting to see what changes they make to winged leather shoes since they said they're adding a damage bonus to them. if they give at least 10% base and let me keep empowers, I'll be switching to them after the patch

@@PJsurely ahh thanks for the response and info! I had good survivability and somewhat decent damgae with heavy but if my team all dead and its 1v3 in arena i cant really win at that point. Ive just been playing in medium now with flail and round shield, its kinda fun, scaling with int tho, i wonder if it it would be worth going str and foc instead to scale the flail better. people are going full fire defence against me now and im seeing fire ticks i the 40 range now, theyre usuially 170 on a dummy xd

yeah the int gem scaling is pretty bad, I've tried everything to make an ice hatchet work but you lose so much damage. you'll get a lot more going strength flail/inferno and just ignore the dots since they're basically non-existent and treat it more just for burst damage and some range

@@PJsurely using int for utility weapons is decent as long as they ain't focused around bleed or dots etc. Spear raw dmg with int scaling and runeglass etc is the same dmg if not better as a normal spear scaling off only Dex. But the bleed is bad dmg. Dual stat weapons scale better with int than their secondary as well for basic dmg but haven't really found a good use for that yet apart from utility lol. Keen speed rend javelin spear paired with fire staff is a fun one 😂

@@PJsurely gonna scarab craft a healing breeze fire damage ring see hot it goes with str scaling. What gem you recommend on flail? Jasper?

sorry missed your comment, I wouldn't recommend going off my current build guides since the new season starts on tuesday and I'll be making updated ones with the upcoming changes

absolutely, if you're just starting out I would say for pve sword and shield + hatchet if u really enjoy hatchet would be any easier way to start learning since you can hold aggro with sword just by light attacking. don't have to manage your cooldowns as carefully until you get used to it. for pvp I'm just getting into flail myself since it's still relatively new, but I'd say it's a lot more fun since your abilities are off cooldown much quicker with the build I run and you aren't relegated to just left clicking most of the time. if you want to run a paladin type build, it'll be much easier to create next season when most of the gems get a rework, putting an arcane gem will make it scale 80% off of focus instead of the 65% it does now or the pitiful damage it does with an amber. was considering myself testing a full focus flail/void gauntlet after the gem changes. if you have any more questions feel free to fire away here or hit me up any time on discord. if I don't have an answer for you can probably at least point you toward a resource that would have your answer

@@PJsurely yeah that’s what I’m doing now, hatchet + s&s. Was thinking of going GS instead of S&S as I’m used to other games and used to be hardcore I’m thinking to boost the damage a bit more for faster exp, quests, dungeons and etc. late game I was thinking to go paladin yeah( but won’t give up on hatchet since I loved it and daggers/rogue were not released yet, but I can see dungeons have many small details, directions, luring, pulling, that if I’m not familiar with the content I might kill my whole party even tho I always played tank puller in mmos like, lineage 2(12years), Tera(2), Silk Road(1(aion(2), archage(1) etc. I’ll probably be a paladin or tank once I reach late game and am very familiar with the mechanics because to be honest this holding shield/stamina system is very easy to tank I can see on gvg, nw, 3x3, but Dgs.

yeah I don't care for pve much myself, pve tanking at face value isn't super interactive but if you look up some M3 speedrunners on here that tank in light armor it's a completely different beast. maybe you could go light/medium and play dps until you learn the mechanics then swap to tank?

the gear from this vid is just random crap from the TP that had shirking heals except the flail and jewelry I crafted. can see some of it in my build guide last video. I'm crafting my gear for next season now as I get azoth inductors now that I'm committed to the build. djinn headwrap, everything else is shirking heals, thrust conditioning, vigor (except 1 piece invigorated). amulet- health, divine, thrust ring- keen, hearty, leeching earring- healthy toast, regen, healing heart shield- sturdy fortification, refreshing, thrust flail- enchanted, plagued crits, powerful eruption firestaff- (season4 flintstick) vicious, alac punishment, fireball

how is it getting nerfed?

the point of the build is we're tired of playing against BB lol wth u tryna do to my baby man? hahah my flail build isn't getting nerfed tho, I don't play kite shield for the infinite stagger cheese. tower shield all day. this build is actually getting buffed like I mentioned in my quick build guide since I'll be switching to int next season, flail gets a massive boost to ele dmg on its abilities

I think he might be talking about the endless stagger cheese you could do with a kite shield getting fixed, but this build doesn't use a kite shield anyway

I feel that man, they said they're fixing it kinda with the bad luck prevention soon (delayed) but yeah I spent a lotta time farming blooddrinker just to finally test it and realize it's tragically bad in pvp. don't worry tho next season nobody will run inferno since it'll be fire dmg and u can make any weapon scale with int properly. I won't be running any artifact S4 just my normal flail w/ int gem and a flintstick with fireball

@@PJsurely they actually buffed the luck on artifacts from 10% to 20% in mutations drop currently. yeah probably won't be as good but there's a push to collect them all, as of now the only mutations drop i haven't got is from Empy and Tempest. which crazily only showed up once while the Genesis and Starstone is already 3 or 4 times now. sucks.

I had made a build guide the day prior on this (it's kinda scuffed but hits the important parts) but it seems like those don't get recommended nearly as much so I think im gonna just start including a super quick overview of the important parts of the build with each video. I seriously appreciate you asking, you're not the only person. thats something I'll fix going forward, should have another vid up in the next few days
