Microsoft released a new ad reminding gamers that you don't actually need an Xbox to play Xbox games. The ad features the Amazon Fire TV stick, with which you can launch Xbox Game Pass and play Game Pass games via the cloud and a bluetooth controller. It's not a new feature, but this seems to be part of an initiative to get people into the Xbox ecosystem without having to worry about a four-hundred-dollar console (just a monthly subscription to Game Pass Ultimate). But it may have some gamers worried that Microsoft is leaving consoles behind. In related news, one of the year's biggest Xbox titles, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, wasn't exactly the smash hit Microsoft was hoping for. The game received very positive reviews, but failed to make the top 10 in games sold in its release month of May. And finally, two Elden Ring players have found a new way to absolutely embarrass Malenia.

It's not similar. Did BlackBerry Messenger have anything that competing devices didn't offer? No other service will offer Call of Duty, Indiana Jones, Avowed...blah blah blah. Will that save Xbox? Probably not, but it's not BB Messenger.

Tried it on my 43in Samsung Crystal UHD TV with my PS4 Controller. Doesn't happen when you have rubbish WiFi with speeds that always fluctuate from 30Mbits/s to under 10Mbits/s! The quality just looks rather crap! Better off just buying a Xbox!

It's the messaging that is worrying to Series S/X owners. Compare the language with the Play Anywhere campaign. One is telling you there are multiple ways to enjoy the Xbox experience. The other is telling you there is no need to buy a console to enjoy the Xbox experience. It's the same deal with the Gamepass price hike announcement. Their consoles are dead last in sales and they somehow are ok with Ultimate being 20$ on Series S/X and 12$ on PC. It's getting really, really hard to believe Phil when he says the console side of Xbox is still the #1 priority.

Well, Nvidia does and advertises the same thing with GeForce Now. Some seem to over analyze this as some sort of a sign. It's not like Xbox or Nvidia dont want you to buy their hardware if that's what you want. It's just an additional option to access the ecosystem for those that it appeals to.

SONY is a hardware manufacturer, FIRST! So if they did this it would probably be tired to the PS5 like an extender. So you could have your P5 in your living room and still game in your room.

Microsoft is a trillion dollar company... Xbox is a very small part of that company and is very possibly used to fund another branch of the company.... Microsoft would absolutely close xbox in a heartbeat if it isn't making money... They have lost the console sales in multiple generations so they are getting out of the console war... They do not care about their loyal fan base or gaming for that matter... We're watching the end of the xbox console that's for sure
