I've always love hearing the sound of the slim turning on.

I prefer this slim over the newer slim model, it looks super sexy and does not like a block like the newer slim model.

My new slim is a lot quieter than my 1st gen Elite was, I'm very happy with it. The upgrade was a no-brainer for me as my 3 year warranty was almost up and my Elite had the RROD in the past. Traded it in at GAME for £100, pretty good considering it was almost 3 years old and the slim was £200

The new 360Slim definitely has a shorter load time in games which makes your gaming progress quicker per session. The touch-sensitive buttons was a nice addition. What's funny is that if you thought Halo ODST in the campaign mode was on the short side before, just play it on a 360Slim...it'll really seem even shorter now.

Actually the power brick does it's job pretty damn well.One time there was tension issue,my light bulb almost turned off my PC restarted my TV reseted to channel 1 but my 360 didn't do a thing,I was playing Dante's Inferno(the cosnoel was connected to the monitor) and the game kept going.So yeah,it's huge but it's doing its job.

I don't know why so many people are against the glossy shine. To me, that makes it look even cooler and flashier. I myself own 3 different 360s; a 360 E, and 2 slims (one glossy and one matte). All it takes to keep the glossy one clean is to keep a paper towel to wipe off finger prints, and you just have to be careful with how you hold it. Fun Fact: if you want even more shine, you should use polish over it. That black will be insanely shiny then 😎

@Crickin4 WRONG, the 4GB is only the internal memory, at the bottom there's an expansion slot for a HardDrive.

@GrumpyGillzGaming It'll still work. The slim Xbox is equipped with the wireless N which is the next generation of high speed wi-fi (faster than G) which then means whatever is the maximum speed of the wireless G connection you get from your router is the maximum you'll get on your Xbox.

Both the 360's are better than the Xbone though. I hate how it cant be put vertically. My PS4 takes up very little space but my Xbone takes up as much space as the original Xbox I use to have back in 2007.

it doesnt matter. both ways are fine, but i would set it sideways just to be safe. i have my xbox standing up and have not bumped it. it really depends on if its in a place were it is easy to knock over.

No, the newer models of the 360 S are a sort of matte texture, the original models were glossy, the newer models are matte. And the PS3 isn't touch sensative either, lol. I have to push the buttons to turn the damn thing on and its louder than my old 360. Can't even hear the new one.

Still prefer the 360 elite they can't be killed my friend has had his for over 7 years and has never had a problem but had to hack the hard drive to fit a bigger hdd 120gb wasn't enough

Is your screen designed to output 1080p? Some TV screens will try to output it, even if they aren't true 1080p. It doesn't matter if you're playing in 720p or 1080p anyway as most games on console are only 720p and upscaled to 1080p, and the rest are typically under 720p which can look really bad. The next gen of consoles will probably be able to render native 1080p, maybe not at 60fps on games in 8 years from now, but they'll be able to do it like a PC can.

Eh. I kinda like the 360 Fat look more than the Slim but I still like how all the Slims had HDMI ports and 3 USB ports and the power button and the eject button don't need hardly ANY pressure and the Slims didn't overheat as often but I like how the Fat had interchangeable face plates.

you can get it fixed, i did, took me a day to take it to a shop pay £20 and i got it back the next day. You don't NEED to get the new system, you can buy an old arcade, and just put your hard drive into it!

Well, it all depends on the type of elite, you could either have a Zephyr, Falcon or a Jasper, Zephyr's have a higher chance of getting 3RL, while Jasper's are almost as reliable as the slims.

I wonder if there's a big/small difference between "360 Elite" and "360 Slim" in terms of faster loading times, cooler hardware (more efficient cooling fans) lower sound levels (from fans and such). Why i'm asking is because my brother is giving me his "Xbox 360 Elite" in supreme condition. Since all the things i mentioned above (loading, times, sound levels and so on) are important to me i wonder if it's better to buy a Slim instead. I want the best experience once i jump on the Xbox wagon.
