NEW Xiegu X6200 Info - 20W Wireless FT8 Operation and built in Rails?

Looks like we have some new photos of the upcoming Xiegu x6200. Not a whole lot of new information besides confirmed support for WFM and aviation reception. We have the additional feature advertisement of wireless FT8 operation.

Looks like I missed an important detail, thanks to DC6NS for noticing. It appears 20 Watts will be supported as detailed in the specs!

Asked my above question also in the "customer reviews" at Radioddity´s website. Now they deleted the passage with the 20 Watts in the specs. It reads now: "External power supply voltage: DC 9.0V~15.0V". They also deleted my (and some other) customer review.

@@DC6NSyup iv noticed a lot of people have been going off that saying finally 20w but look for the official data sheets its as posted below 8 and 5w

Yes, as I already wrote above, Radioddity changed the technical specs and deleted the former passage "supply-voltage: "10.5~16.5VDC, negative ground (must be 13.8-15V if need 20W)" @@AndrewR2130

I don't understand why no one is mentioning what seems like the main feature of the radio--the Direct Radio Frequency Sampling (DRFS). Direct sampling is a big deal, since it eliminates the intermediate frequency, and should make for better weak-signal reception, like the newest Icom HF radios. I'm guessing it will also give them more capabilities to add software features that they couldn't before. Am I wrong that this is a foundational change that makes the 6200 something to be really excited about?

The X6200 looks like a cool radio. Small, 20 watts, autotuner, built in soundcard for digital, are all very intriguing. As for reviews. I don't see how anyone could post a review of the rig if they haven't actually used it. I look forward to seeing some hands on reviews when it is finally available for purchase. It will be interesting.

Spec sheet is pointing towards 8w external power 5w internal

The thing is, the broadcast interference issue is an incredibly simple thing to combat in hardware. I know that Xiegu radios have filters between the tuner and the ADC so all they would need to do is have a high pass filter for every band except 160m. My issue with the broadcast interference issue is that it basically makes the tuner useless. Also, I was never fond of the keyer on the xeigu radios. My CW sends incredibly sloppy with the G90 and X6100.

A central question will also be what output power the device will have. Radioddity writes in the specs concerning transmission power: "Battery: 5W±1dB @Max External power: 8W ±1dB @Max". But only one line below you can read concerning power supply-voltage: "10.5~16.5VDC, negative ground (must be 13.8-15V if need 20W)". So, will it be 8 Watts or 20 Watts on external power? Very good eye. I didn't even notice! The way I see it, the radio can accept that range, but will only offer 20 Watts if an external power source of 13.8 or more is present.

@@ModernHam I agree with the rant on the reviews of a radio that doesn't exist, how many times can someone run a video of the radioddity website ! Onto the pictures we do have I think this will be a little "chunkier" than the x6100, it seems to have put on some weight, detachable battery looks interesting and so does the 20W mentioned in the spec. My guess is the rails were added to protect the MFK knob which now appears to be a two piece with an inner and outer knob. Interesting times to come :)

That 20w was a typo it seems - it's been removed - output is 5w with internal battery and 8w with external supply.

several things I wish for........1. all cables come out one side of the radio it could be a side, top, bottom, back, etc but all on one side so it doesn't turn out like an octopus with legs coming out of everywhere. 2. waterproof. Not water resistant but water proof. Make a truly rugged portable hf radio.

The product page actually made me unsympathetic right away. They couldn't be bothered to just straigt up say what they concretely improved vs the older model? I had to digg through the stats to find any differences? No links to independent reviews? Just gives off red flags left and right.

Not sure if you watched the X6100 complaints section at 08:00, but what needs fixed that a firmware update can solve? (Adding more Bluetooth functionality is a given). Speaking of things advertised as a feature on the x6100 listing.

Brother, I wish there was a place to put it. None of it's trash. We are just out of space. All the closets are full, and all rooms of the house are packed corner to corner with important things. Just isn't enough room. 700 square feet of space for housing isn't much for two people. Moving into a house next year, but this is the way it has to be until then. Not even a place for the bikes without blocking a hallway, and those boxes are from our last move, but we don't have enough space to unpack anything else. Just saving it for a new place with more room.

Those are from the last move, with things still inside with no space to unpack them. If I could fit a shelf to unpack them onto, it would take up the last bit of wall space I would have left in the entire place as you can see.
